Agreed. This defeats the purpose of EAD. Of course, their goal of discouraging foreign workers is fully accomplished, as I have seriously considered leaving for Canada/Australia! I am a PhD and my wife is MD and this is NOT what we had in mind after all those years of graduate/medical school and residency/postdoc training.

With tears rolling down my eyes, I am happy to report that my EAD was approved after 205 days today (RD May 1st, NSC). 3 SRs, 2 expedite requests, multiple inquiries by congressional office. Waiting for the card now.

I have already contacted the congressman's office. The representative said there might be a case for humanitarian reasons here (because I am a pediatric oncologist and my inability to start work affects healthcare for children with cancer!). They have asked for all the documents yesterday but haven't gotten back. Should I wait for the congressman's office to respond or put in another expedite request?
 
I also just checked for another InfoPass appointment and nothing is available in the next 14 days. I guess I will have to keep checking.
 
I will certainly ask for Tier2 officer tomorrow since it will be 120 days and "beg for help".
