Oh really? For some reason I thought interviews are mostly waived (unless there’s some fraud seen in the case) in all service centers..
Interviews from my understanding were waived most likely due to the pandemic- though now as things are coming back to normal it was a ####### shoot on who got interviewed and who is waived as prior to the pandemic. So far I think I am the only one who posted an actual interview- and no it’s not a fraud concern flagged interview nor have I heard of such - can you elaborate where you might have seen that?

Wow it seems like LIN is really waking back up! There was just a MASSIVE backlog of Biometrics Waivers which were cleared for those of us from Mid-Nov through Dec. and now it seems like they are getting on to approving people! Did they not waive your biometrics or if so when did they waive it?
at least interviews are being waived - not for us EAC’s

Good luck when you go for the interview. Do you mind sharing your processing center?
Was Vermont then transferred to NBC - we have an EAC case number

Hi Everyone we just saw our status changed to interview is scheduled for 485. Waiting on mail now for date. Nothing on travel and employment status but that's fine.
that’s good to hear. Should go rather quickly from here. Good luck with your interview. Be prepared with photos, joint accounts and anything else needed. Just do a search here and you can read what others brought. If your meeting is in Boston consider a new medical with a Civil surgeon if your spouse medical is a year old. Ours was 7 months old and we required to get an updated medical, but it also depends on your IO adjudicating your case.

Why so expensive? Because you did next day delivery?
What if it gets lost? Would the tracking # be the insurance alone to USCIS so we don’t have to pay a application fee?
I sent it overnight so they can get it faster. As Going Through mentioned there is no fee when it’s a DHS error. I mailed it knowing there is a possibility it may get lost, but I won’t worry about it unless it happens. You can’t control all possible outcomes and in my opinion not worth worrying about every single detail. I didn’t send it in when I originally sent in my I-90 back in November because I was scared it would get lost so I understand your concern, but at the end of the day they RFE me because they want the original card. As long as you have your NOA, EAD and all other documents then why worry? I regret not mailing the GC when I sent in the I-90 and the only thing my worrying accomplished was adding time to my I-90 process. I am going on 7 months 😩

I paid like $2 and it got there in 2 days. Did you buy insurance?
Just tracking no insurance

Name error? You mean the married last name vs born name?
I might get RFE too but do you recommend insuring it on sending it? My only issue is that the mail might get lost.
Also, did you send a copy of your PR Card?
What is your receipt date and when was your biometrics?
There was an error in the middle name unfortunately. I90 NOA 1 was November 28 - Biometrics Nov 30 - RFE May 15 - RFE mailed in documents acknowledged May 28th ....... so now the waits continues
37 minutes ago, Visitor User said:I would have no choice but to send it in if RFEed. I use Fedex Express and it seems to get there in 2 business days.
We used USPS next day $25 cost

RFEs can be sent out at any time right up until the end, unfortunately...still remains to be seen if OP receives one for the original GC.
If he does, will add to processing time naturally.
In hindsight we wish we sent it in. You never know if things get lost but in the end it adds to the wait since the forms say it’s a requirement. Oh well 6 months and counting.......

Hello. My initial Form I-90 was lost in the mail so I re-filed it on 5/1/19 using FedEx Express. USCIS did receive it on the morning of 5/3/19 according to the tracking #.
My lawyer recommended that I don't send the original Permanent Resident card so I sent the front/back copy photocopy. According to my lawyer, he says sometimes they ask for original and sometimes they don't. Anyone submitted I-90 with just the photocopy and did not get a RFIE/RFE? The reason for I-90 is DHS error on my year of birth so I submitted a copy of my Birth Certificate.
When should I be getting a receipt from USCIS?
We got an RFE for the original - we send in photo copies originally last November and now have to wait even longer.

I’ve seen the processing times but they aren’t always accurate. Is there a thread I can follow like we have for AOS every month?
No thread unless you create one. I-90 are a different lot because there are so many different reasons and application types for an I-90. Start one I am sure you will others to participate.

Lawyer says half the time they do not ask for original Green Card. There is also a risk of losing the mail and then we would end up with paying a fee to replace it. My I-90 did not cost money. Guess, what? The initial mail was indeed lost and thank God my lawyer didn’t send the original GC. I have it now in my possession. RFIE/RFE would delay the process but I am in no hurry to get a replacement either.
We got the dreaded RFE for our I-90 (name error- no fee) asking for the original GC. We sent the I-90 in Beginning of November last year. I got an update today that they received my RFE response so now the waiting game continues 🙄. I am not one of the fortunate ones who were not asked for the original.

Exactly similar situation to what we experienced. Check out my signature for our I-90 timeline. Biometrics were quick, after that basically a year of waiting before we heard anything from USCIS.
It’s frustrating because you do your due diligence followed all the requirements and double tripled check your work but in the end at the mercy of whom ends up doing the data entry on your case and how diligent or attentive they are. 😩

So she filed as a DHS error? I heard that Biometrics are valid for 1.5 years as long as my receipt date for I-90 on or before 1.5 years?
Also, did USCIS use the new picture that was taken at her biometrics? Are we allowed to retake if we don't like the picture?
Really depends on the person taking your biometrics. The person who helped my wife was nice and let her choose the picture but like I said it’s subjective to the Immigration Officer. I can’t say if they use the new picture because we have not received the replacement updated card yet so only time will tell. As far as the biometrics validity it depends on who is handling your case. For example we we required to do a new medical when we had our interview for the GC even through the medical was less then one year old - some ask some don’t. Just prepare to do everything over again and if you’re not ask then at least you prepared for the worst. I am not an expert by any means but this is what I and others have experienced. Just search these forums and you will see everyone’s experience is unique albeit some similarities.

What was the reason for her filing for I-90?
They put wrong middle initial unfortunately

Do you think I will have to do another Biometrics even though it was DHS error? I heard the Bio is valid for 1.5 years from the last one. Is that true?
I can’t say if they will take the existing one but my wife and others here had to complete new biometrics. Search I-90 here and you will see.

Pretty accurate unfortunately- a year is average wait

We are 113 Days in our I90 because the discrepancy on my wife’s middle initial. Biometrics are always fast and from what i read it’s going to be about a year waiting 😞

This all depends on what the IO says/does.
Validity of 1 year is what is written but not always observed.
I've seen many people get put into AP until a new medical is produced even though their medical is fresh.I suggest NOT to do one unless asked. But perhaps take a few mins and know the closest medical folks close to you in case you get an IO that demands one?
We did our medical in March (which is older than yours) and just had our interview. IO didn't even bring it upGood luck!
When we had our interview we were required to do a new medical which set us back three weeks. They ask for the updated medical at the interview and we were surprised and disappointed based on that request being subjective to the IO. Nonetheless it may or may not be asked for and our medical was only 8 months old. Just go with your instincts and just be prepared to have to do one if asked. Ours cost $200 to complete with a civil surgeon.

Finally got approval on my EAD! status changed to Card has been mailed to me today!
and then my case has been scheduled for interview, all in one night!
I know this question has probably been asked and answered several times but if we checked the box that said to get an ssn with the EAD, how does that process go?
Congratulations 🍾🎊- For the social security number it just means that the USCIS will process the request for the TAX aka SSN number through the SSAdmin for you. Should take 2-3 weeks processing

No. If you already submitted the DS 3025 with your application, then you do not need another vaccination record. Simply go along with the copy of the DS 3025 to your interview.
When we had our interview in Boston - we were required to get a new medical from a civil surgeon. They gave us RFE at the interview and it delayed us six weeks. Our medical was done in April 2018 yet asked us to complete again. Seems subjective to the the IO whether it’s required or not. So it’s not a definite “not needed” at least in our case FYI to anyone who is getting ready for an interview. Also all POE after 11/1/18 requires new medical regardless. You don’t need new vaccinations if you have your current vaccination record. Just bring it to the appointment with you at the civil surgeon’s office. Boston was not smooth for us unfortunately.

we were transferred to NBC in April - May an interview was scheduled- June we are approved after the interview - so I agree transferring to NBC is a great thing. Just be patient and stay positive was our mantra 🙂
