Hi. Did you receive your visa yet? My husband had his interview and was asked to submit a name change document. He submitted the document and his passport on September 10. We have heard nothing. Website still says AP.

Hello congrats on your approval, what documents evidence were submitted with your waiver?
Hello , mostly hardship and the effect it has on my family who lives in the US , we had to so lots of supporting documents from police reports ,physiological evaluation from certified doctors in the US , and of course had to hire a lawyer who specializes in waivers since its not an easy thing to get approved or at least that is what i understood from my research and the lawyers i spoke too .

Sorry i looked and confirmed now that it took from ready to issued 46 days exactly then another week even less to receive the package .

Any update on your status Adam?, my fiance have a similar case as yours and was wondering how long it took for you to get the approval?
Hey Ahammad ,after many sleepless nights and worrying about it I finally got it and now I'm in the US ,it didn't take 7 to 10 business days as they told me after the interview ,it took me exactly 67 days from the day of the interview until the status showed issued online .then less then a week after I recieved the package.

Thank you so much, I will be happier when I see issued.

Good luck!
Thanks I'm looking forward to issued status and passport this week or next week

Based on the discussions I had with the case officer he informed me of these steps:
the first AP is the immigration unit doing the paperwork for approving the visa
the first ready is a notice that they are finished and the paperwork is being sent for visa issuance
the second AP is the visa issuance people doing their own paperwork
the second ready is that the visa has been issued and is currently being processed for delivery
Then "issue" is posted and the visa has left the BIG house to YOUR house.
Once you get that second ready, it should be sent out within a few days, although we received our visa before any of the various websites that allow you to look up the status said that it had been sent out. Your mileage may vary.
@Greenbaum thank you so much ,your always very informative with your answer ,hoping for good news soon .

I appreciate your input, I know at some point we will get a lawyer. Am currently just trying to understand the process and am educating myself reading all the instructions and all details so I know what to expect.
That's a good start. First thing my lawyer checked was how long I was banned from US, which was 10 years because of my stupity when I was a teenager, second she checked if I'm eligible for a waiver since not everyone is.
I would check those 2 main important issues first then go from there.
Good luck

That's exactly what happened with me, went to interview and was denied and luckily they said I'm eligible for a waiver since it depends on the reason or reasons for the deportation, it took my lawyer who specializes in immigration waivers almost 3 months to get everything together and file it, took me 11 months to get the approval which was last feb, went for a second interview on May 22 and got verbally approved and nothing else was requested, it's been over 2 months and still no visa but I know I'll get it soon enough.
Good luck and get a good lawyer, waivers are not easily approved, I know mine was very difficult because of what was requested from our lawyer but it was worth it.
Forgot to mention that my visa is for an F1 category

From my families experience it took mom to get it from my USC brother 3 years then after she became a USC she applied for me and I'm unmarried over 21 , so far 9 years for me and now I'm waiting for my visa to arrive after my last interview on May 22. It's a long process as mentioned above and uneasy one from my experience at least.

Up to 60,000 foreigners from seven majority-Muslim countries had their visas cancelled after President Donald Trump’s executive order blocked them from travelling to the US, the State Department said Friday.
That figure contradicts a Justice Department lawyer’s statement Friday during a court hearing in Virginia about the ban. The lawyer in that case said that about 100,000 visas had been revoked.
The State Department clarified that the higher figure includes diplomatic and other visas that were actually exempted from the travel ban, as well as expired visas.Trump’s order, issued last Friday, temporarily bans travel for people from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya and Yemen. It also temporarily halts Te refugee program.

Well, it depends what exactly the letter says. In my case, they kept my passport, gave me 221g to provide W-2, which I did that same day. Then I still went through AP for another 2 weeks. There is always AP after the interview.
Hello, did you end up getting your visa issued?

Lol.. it is not easy to find someone that is financially responsible for another human being.. i would never do that for anyone.
As i said it is not requested yet and i do understand that the joint sponsor doesn‘t want me to see their whole financial situation.
If it is really needed they will tho.
but that was not my question. My question was how much time is given to turn in the paperwork. Please only answer the question if you know it. I don‘t need to find another joint sponsor.
Word of advice find a sponsor and have him/her ready before your interview if you are sure you need one.not having one will only slow down the process during and after the interview.
If you got asked for one then it's up to you how fast you can provide them with one and how fast you can forward your required papers back to them. Which most likely will put you in Administrative processing.

Thank you for your respond
Congratulations on your approval
God bless
Thank you, just remember each case is processed differently, I was told from my attorney and the embassy it would take around 4-6 months but ended it 11 months.,but in the end it will be worth it.
Good luck

Was your waiver an I-601 or I-601A? There's a difference:
Also, the AP you're asking about is "Advance Parole." The AP @Adam A recently mentioned is "Administrative Processing."
He Is right I'm talking about administration processing for I 601 waiver

Did you get an EAD & AP before they approved your waiver? Sorry for asking too much. My lawyer sent my waiver April 2019. I didn’t get any update after my biometrics. Thanks!
I got AP after first interview and after I received the approvel it took a 2 weeks to set up the interview ,new medical and new police clearance . got approved verbally at my May 22 interview and now waiting on my passport with visa .

How long did it take to get approved?
Everyone told me including my lawyer and online it would take 4 to 6 months but it actually took around 11 months almost a year to hear something from them .

Think about it this way ,waivers take usually between 8 months to a year sometimes less sometime more ,when it came to me I had to redo everything again even sponsorship papers ,taxes ,ds260,police records ,medical and the visa fee ,your application will not be considered new unless you abandon it and year passes without them hearing from you ,unless you have a visa waiver processing then forget about what I said .
End of the day you have to refresh all your documents cause they will need new documents for anything older than 6 months.
Good luck
