Hi guys. Quick question on NVC process; my I-130 was approved on 7/28, and was sent to DOS on 8/8. The next step is to receive a welcome letter right? Will they send me an email or a hard copy in the snail mail? I submitted a form G-1145 along with my I-130 to USCIS.
Thanks!!
They will send both. I would say call NVC and make sure they have your correct email so that you can get all the document via email faster. Either way they will send the hard copy as well.

I Called the NVC and received the case number and as well as the invoice number today. But when I log to the https://ceac.state.gov with the case and invoice number I am able to log for
- DS-261, Online Choice of Address and Agent but when it goes to the page the button seem to be disable it dosen't do anything. When I click it or when I try to start the application it dosen't do anything. Does that happen to anyone? or Do I still have to wait for the letter from NVC to arrive until i can proceed.
I just choose my agent. i did not get my welcome letter but it let me choose my agent. Thanks @LaurenAndBrent again for the suggestion. I would say try it again tomorrow.

Yes I gave them my email.

All you need for a CEAC login is the two numbers that you have just received. I was able to submit ds261 and pay one of the fees before my welcome letter arrived by email (the physical copy arrived 2-3 weeks later when I had already completed all of the steps)
The only thing you need your welcome letter for once you already have your two numbers is the document cover sheet which you send with your paperwork, but im pretty sure you can print that from the ceac site too so im not sure why they told you that you can't do anything until it arrives. Try logging in to the ceac website
I will definitely going to try what you said. Thanks @LaurenAndBrent.

My case is in NVC right now. I got my case # and invoice # by calling them, but they said i have to wait for the welcome letter before I can do anything. Basically I am waiting for the welcome letter either via email or postal mail. Just to give you guys an update.

Are you the petitioner or beneficiary? Im confused. If you're the beneficiary then it's your spouse's income that you need to prove as they will be your sponsor (you said there were no other co sponsors) If you're the petitioner then ignore me lol.
Lol....I am the petitioner. ( being a student is hard, sometimes)

Do you have any assets, savings?
Has your income really been below USD20.025 last year, i take it it will be only be a household of 2?
When to Include Assets in the Sponsor's Calculations
You do not need to declare or prove your ownership of valuable assets if you can meet the Poverty Guidelines levels based on income alone. However, assets (such as savings, houses, or cars) can be a valuable way to fill the gap. They are counted at only one fifth their current market value, or one third if the immigrant is the spouse or child of a U.S. citizen. And you must subtract out any debt liabilities, mortgages, and liens against the asset.
To be used for immigration sponsorship purposes, your assets must be readily convertible into cash (within one year). For example, if the sponsor owns a new condominium in an empty complex that is in bankruptcy, there may not be a market for the place (i.e. no one wants to buy it). USCIS may decide that, even though the sponsor paid a million dollars for the condo, this asset does not count, because it cannot be converted into cash within one year.
Yes. it is below 20K and it is for household 2. and don't have any asset that i can claim.

you're income for last year will be important as well. You have to show tax transcripts for the last tax year, being 2016. Evidence of 2014 en 2015 is optional you do though have to submit the annual income for those years and they would like to see 3 recent paystubs
I can send the recent paystubs, and it will definitely will show that my income is way higher than last year. but i am worried about the last year tax. and i don't have any joint sponsor either.

What was previous status of ur case I mean what stage you were and after how long ur case has sent to DOS? When did u submit I 130?
Thanks
My PD was 26th Jan. it took about 6 months to approved my case. This timing varies based on where your case was sent to. My case was in TSC. But i would say, it will take more or less 6-8 months, unless something went really wrong. Hope this will help.

nice, hopefully you've alreasy started reading into what it takes to go through this stage at NVC. good luck!
Thanks @Yeonin. I have a quick question....My last year annual income was below poverty line because i was a MS student, but now I am a PhD student, therefore, my funding is higher now. do you think they look for what my last year income was or they will focus on what i will be earning next coming years? My University and supervisor can write me letter where they will indicate my funding for next coming years. I am bit confused .

Quick question..... My I-130 case was approved on 22nd July and I got my NOA2 on 27th July. How long should I wait to call NVC? in the approval letter it says, I should wait at least 30 days to call them.

Congrats. My situation is opposite .I have received email and text confirmation (USCIS website also updated as well) about approval but have not received the NOA2 letter yet. Today got another email saying that they have send my case to NVC today
That is very strange...I did not get any email nor text. Just the hard copy of NOA2. Either way, we got the approval notice, that's all matter at the end

Hey everyone. I have never posted on here before but just wanted to let everyone know i got approved today ( July 24th, 2017). My NOA1 was January 25th, 2017. Exactly 6 months and 1 day. I called USCIS today and asked to speak to a tier 2 supervisor etc. etc. and he told me that my application was approved just today. It was my first time calling them as well lol. He said I should get something in the mail soon. I am a U.S. citizen and my service center was Texas Service Center. To all the people waiting out there, keep your head up. Looks like Texas Service Center is processing end of January now.
Congrats dude....My PD is Jan 26th...still waiting... finger crossed !!

I would say calling is the safest way to make sure that they got your email.
