Very strange that several report here about their name and date of birth being changed.

Yet no one seems to think how strange that is, and apparently none have questioned why their date of birth is being changed.

    What's with  this ???????

could it be possible that they checked name and birthday to make sure they are correct,  system will update whatever they touched

Just got in from my Infopass and the immigration officer was very nice. NYC FIELD OFFICE

So she explained to me the CRI-89 Receipt Number from the biometrics is actually what we should track as the I751 receipt number is really an internal number for officers so they understand the wording of everything. she explained to me however thats why all the received at local office for the I751 number has been showing up. She explained to me that at the internal level the "local office" that the case has been received at is actually Vermont in my case and California service centre for others being that its for form Removal of Conditions. She explained that the files have been in storage for a whole year but until the immigration officer needs the files they will request it Or a bulk and when a worker sends it to them it will come up as Received by Local office so its no longer in a vault but actually in the office to be processed. When they start to work on it that update might come again and do remember they are in bulks so updates might not show up same time. She told me when the form gets transferred you will get a "Transferred to new office and that office has jurisdiction for your case" followed by the notice in the mail. She told me for internal matters the local office for each form is where u filed it based on your address. However the Local Field Office for a person is based on zip code. so local office goes by form and where they are filed and Local Field office is by your zip code. there was so much more I learnt from her however I don't want to bore you too much so I explained as much as I could. I went there for the extension stamp and was given a 60 day validity stamp as she said the system showing that I had a DOB and Name update a few days ago and yesterday my case was approved. also I was told most updates tend to show up  2 to 3 days after its entered into the system. So Im now waiting on my approval letter in the mail which she assume I will have by Monday. she wanted to print the approval for me which I didn't know was possible however it wouldn't allow her as the approved hasn't updated on the case status site yet but she could see I was approved.

I have an update about my own "local office" transfer. I scheduled an INFOPASS appt because my extension expires in 3 weeks. The agent said that the 'transfer to local office' notices are very likely an error happening to many cases. (He called it the result of "someone's fat fingers," I kid you not.) He told me the files don't get transferred to local offices unless an interview or further information is/are required, but the notice for either of those requirements would come first, and would come in the mail. Anyway, he said my file wasn't at that office, despite the info on my "My Cases" page, but he also couldn't tell me if it was still at CSC or not. He stamped my passport with another year-long extension right away.

Long story short, it appears to confirm that the move to my "Local Office" is an error. He did tell me that there are huge backlogs and delays, especially for ROC petitions, usually 18-24 months. He recommended I go ahead and apply for citizenship because it's faster, and he's already seen a few successful applicants granted citizenship while awaiting ROC approval.

Guess it's on the next step before I've completed this one!

    Good luck, all.

I-751s might be very low priority in uscis

Sorry for being on here late today, but been doing housework and listening to positive videos. Needed to lift my mood.  Any way folks today I received an email from my N400 account to say my card was being produced, there is no update on the USCIS case status page. I am just shaking my head as I write this, as if I hadn't applied for my N400 would I even know my card is being produced. Weirdly, this email arrive at 6.20 am this morning, so is it a human processing the card or a computer?   Very strange what Derwood posted about the 50 cases, I just don't know what is going on and what to believe any more.   Just feel like I wake up every day in Twilight USCIS Zone.

Any way Guys "Happy Approval Day", may the GC force be with you today! :)

i have to wait another two and a half month, i guess, so gc force isnt really with me now :jest:

I'm confused. Is the one year extension letter one year of extending your green card or one year from the receipt date on the letter? Our letter says March 30, 2017 as the receipt date and the green card was initially issued on June 23, 2015. I thought the letter extended the card until June 23, 2018. ugh I hate this :(

one year from the expiration date on your card

Thanks and no I have not applied for citizenship. I'm not sure why I needed a second one. My assumption is that my first bio appointment my prints weren't captured properly, the lady who took them was new (that's what she told me). So maybe when they started adjudicating my case they noticed there was an issue? I tried to ask the immi officer during my second bio appointment why I needed it and he didn't have an answer really so I'm just going with this guess.

or they just loved your fingerprints and photos :jest:  that is the only reason i can come up with

    Hi all....

Maybe somebody can bring me up on speed here. I am a March17 Filer. My "substitute extension letter" expires by the end of this week. So, technically, by the end of the week I might be considered "undocumented"? This process is really ridiculous! It started in June 2013 and I/we have followed every instruction and the process to the letter of the law. It is aggravating. I want this over and move on with our lives. Even more hysterical is that I already would be eligible to file for my N-400 in a month due to the 3-year-rule under K-1! Oh my.....

you are still in status, get the stamp on your passport then

I'm not sure if this is the right format.

    Feb 27th 2017  - Mailed I751 Packet Out

Mar 7th  2017 - Packet received and processed by USCIS

    Apr 3rd 2017 - 1st Biometrics

    Mar 2nd 2018 - 2nd Biometrics

    Mar 13th 2018 - Approval

No RFE's or anything like that. I did get the case transferred to local office Feb 25, Feb 26 then finally changed to Mar 5th. I also got a notice on Mar 9th saying my name and DOB were updated. This information is all from the my.uscis.gov website.

    what was that "Mar 2nd 2018 - 2nd Biometrics" about?  N-400?
