  1. @Hank_ thank you for the link. However, that particular case is IF it was SLEC who found the applicant positive for TB. In my case, the testing will be done prior to going to SLEC.

i think im confusing myself. I think i know the answers to my own questions. Im sorry. So if the treatment is done and completed at another facility (prior to the medical exam at SLEC), and sputum smear test come out negative at SLEC, then there shouldnt be anymore problems, right? because at the end of the day, it is SLEC's  findings that matter. Is that right? If tests results at SLEC are negative, then there's no point questioning whether or not the treatment from another facility is recent. am i correct?

And also, i just realized that my previous questions dont make sense. lol. like why would SLEC tag the applicant TB positive if the test results state otherwise.

  2. If i dont want to wait for 1 year after my treatment from other facilities outside SLEC, is that possible? will they allow that? and does that mean that I will just start the treatment over at SLEC (as if my previous treatment never existed)?

and also, let's say i was able to complete my treatment at another facility. and my XRay at SLEC came out negative of TB, but Im declaring that i just recently finished treatment, will SLEC still consider me as TB positive?

  3. hi geowrian

i have a question about your statement:

"First thing I would note is that SLEC will not accept any other center's treatment until they are cleared for 1 year."

As previously mentioned, my pre-employment xray shows possible TB infection. I am yet to see a pulmonologist later for further testing and confirmation. I understand that only SLEC's treatment and findings are accepted, but I also want to get my condition treated asap (if ever I am positive). My question is:

    1. (Worst case scenario) If the results are bad and I need to start treatment, and let's say that treatment would still be ongoing by the time I go to SLEC, what would happen? I understand that I have to declare everything. I cannot find any online posts or forums of k1 applicants having TB treatment from other facilities during a visa medical exam.

    2. What do you mean by "until they are cleared for 1 year"?  Can you explain this further, please.

Also, if you can answer my questions, can you send me links to those official websites that say so. I really appreciate your help.

I found this from travel.state.gov: But it doesnt really tell me what will happen..what the doctors in SLEC will do.

What if the applicant is being treated for a chronic medical condition or is taking medication on a regular basis?

Applicants being treated for chronic medical conditions, or those taking medications on a regular basis, should be familiar with the medical conditions being treated, and the names of the medications they are taking. Applicants unsure of their diagnoses must present a certificate describing the condition(s), the current treatment, and prognosis with a list of prescribed medications.

  4. Hank_ and  geowrian you are both very helpful 🙂

I want to make sure i understood everything correctly. So, the interview will be scheduled prior to the medical exam. now, what happens if the medical turns out to be bad (the 2-month sputum, and 6-month treatment)? geowrian mentioned and i quote " They will not pass her medical until she is treated and cleared, and you cannot have the visa issued until she has passed the medical". So, if the 2-month sputum will be needed (negative or positive), will the interview be rescheduled? or will the interview still proceed and k1 can still get approved but they wont issue the k1 visa until the beneficiary is medically cleared?

im sorry for asking too many questions. i've done research about k1 but this TB thing never came up and when it did, it just confused the sh*t out of me.

  5. Hank_ thank you for your reply

this really sucks.. 😥😣 i guess you're right, we need to be patient and all we can do now is wait till we get the I-129F results. I do have some clarifications though. You said, "You are K-1 you do not need the NVC letter, but you will need your interview confirmation sheet/email.   You will need your MNL# ".. i thought the MNL# is indicated in the NVC letter.

  6. geowrian sorry.. i just re-read your first reply to Tom&Angie.. so you're saying that I can get the test done at other clinics, but the treated can be done at SLEC? Please correct me if im wrong, but i thought SLEC only does diagnostics. Now, If they do provide treatment, my questions are:

    1. Will they treat me if my tests are done in another Saint Luke's branch?

    2. Will they provide treatment without an NVC#? because we want to get all of these done prior to getting the results of the I-129F

  7. geowrian thank you for you reply.

yea, that's the problem. We want to save time and get it done NOW while waiting for the approval of I-129F approval. We are thinking of the worst case scenario and get the ball rolling. I've read from your and some other posts that it takes 2 months for the sputum test results to come back, and if that turns out positive, the treatment can take 6 months. So we are thinking, we want to get the sputum test done NOW by SLEC, so the 2-month time starts running (Sept-Nov 2018). Then, if it turns out to be positive, i'd get the 6-months treatment (Nov-May 2018).. we will hear about our I-129F on March.. so if we can get this done, we would only have to wait 2 months and not 8.. do you know if there's any work around or loopholes?

  8. Tom&Angie  hi.. were you able to get the advance TB testing at all? If yes, where did you get it done? can someone go to SLEC without an NVC letter? because i have been reading some online posts and forums and they all say the same thing, that an NVC letter is required.

The reason i'm curious to know about this is because I applied for a job and my medical showed that I might have TB, although the doctor suggested "bacteriology confirmation", which i assume would be the sputum test. (I dont have history of TB and I dont smoke either). My fiance and I just submitted our I-129F petition last month. The only thing we have received so far is the NOA1. that's it. But finding out about my lung issues is a great eye-opener. We want to get this treated now to save time in the future. But our questions are:

    1. Where can we get it done? If I get this done at other Saint Luke's branches, will that still count?

    2. If it cant be done at other Saint Luke's branches, will SLEC let me in without an NVC letter?

And if anyone can please provide us more tips and enlightenment on this matter, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you so much.

  9. @p-ana

oh that's a relief. Thank you. I have also been searching online for answers. Is it true that the derivative beneficiary's name will only show up in the notices sent by the NVC? does this mean that any correspondence from USCIS will not include the k2 name? Sorry for asking too many questions, we just want to know what to expect. Thank you again for your quick response 😊

  10. Hi everyone, we just received the form i-797c (NOA1) where it says the name of my fiance. However, I have also included his son in the same I-129F petition as k2 beneficiary. Her son's name is not listed on the NOA1 letter though. Is that really how it is? Or should his name be in it? What drew me off is the heading that says "Petition for Alien Fiancee has been received by our office for the following BENEFICIARIES and is in process". Like if that area is always meant to show just one name, I wonder why they use the plural BENEFECIARIES. It makes me think that if the petition has a k2 inclusion, they would have and should have listed her son's name in it, too. Please help. Thank you so much.

  11. Hi everyone,

What would be the marital status of annulled beneficiaries from the Philippines? Do we select Single or Divorced? There is no divorce in the Philippines, so we are concerned that if we pick that, it would be questionable. We are thinking we should pick Single but we just want to get confirmation from other people who has done the same thing to make sure that we wont have any issues.

    @geowrian

**this is off topic.. we couldnt message you.**

It's been a while my fiancee and I have signed back in here. Congrats on your visa approval! We are just curious about the questions and how the interview was at the embassy. Some say it's in a room with the consulate, others say it's just a window. My fiancee is worried that the embassy wont let me in because there are government offices in the Philippines where they only allow the person who has a transaction to get in. Also, we want to know if you also answered some questions or was asked by the consulate since you went with her. Wishing to hear about your experience. :-)

  13. Hi everyone,

I need help in filling out the new I-129F form (13 pages) which was released on 04/2017.

1.) The mailing and the physical addresses are the same. The petitioner has been living in this address since 2000. So we marked YES for 8.j. Then we are not sure if the form greys out 9.a automatically or there is just a problem with the PDF file. Because marked or not, it wont let us put anything in 9a-10b.

2.) The Alien registration number does not apply for us. So do we leave it blank, write N/A or None.

3.) As for additional Information, what should we write in the Item# field? Just 1 item number (illustration A) or the item range (illustration B)??

**Note**  Im sorry for my bad formatting. Im new to this. LOL. I tried to resize my image but it wont seem to get smaller and I cant position them correctly on the form.

  14. @geowrian

Thank you so much! That is really comforting that I dont need to go to each city that I have lived in to get a police certificate. Considering the traffic and how slow transaction times are here.

That's what we are planning to do, too. To have him come over here in Ph and be with me on the interview date. They say it's not required but being there for us will help us and the application as well. Good luck to you guys! :D:)

Im still trying to look for a member here who has used the new form for their application. Do you know anyone? :jest:

  15. @KULtoATL

Yes. I do have questions on how to fill out the new forms. The questions are simple but how to fill it out is complicated. Im gonna post answer forum question for that one separately.

    @Estibaliz

Thank you! Yeah,, that's what I've read too.. police certificate from each COUNTRY. However though, here in the Philippines each city issues a police certificate from the city hall. I dont think their data base is centralized either. Im not sure.

    @geowrian

Thank you! I've always wondered about the I-134 and thank God you clarified it. And it doesn't need to be notarized when I bring it to the interview, does it?

I saw your K1 visa timeline. So you submitted your petition on December 2016, right? Did you use the new 13-page I-129 form? I dont know when USCIS started using the new form.

    8) So you're from the Philippines as well and is awaiting interview date. Im assuming you just submitted an NBI clearance (just one) and not a police clearance (from each city), and that was fine. Is that correct?

    9) We called USCIS and they said the signature on the Intent to Marry letter should be a wet signature. I read this forum yesterday (See link below), and it seems like the signature being wet or scanned depends on the adjudicator. Some are strict and some are easy. So we want to be safe and send the original.

  16. Hi everyone,

I just signed up for Visajourney today! This forum has been very helpful so far. I have a lot of questions and I don't know where to start. So here it goes:

My fiance and I are still waiting for my annulment to get finalized so we can file the k1 visa. But in the meantime, we have been preparing all the documentations and requirements. We have completed most of the requirements already, then recently, USCIS issued a new I-129 Form (13 pages). And the form we are used to is the old one (6 pages). Now, in the old I-129, it required us to attach a G-325A form (Biographic Information), but with the new 13-page I-129 form, all the questions that are in G-325A are already in there (employment history, address history, etc). We have not submitted an I-129 yet.

Anybody here filing for K1 using the new form??

    1. Do we need to attach a G-325A along with the new 13-page I-129form?

    2. We still haven't decided on how to compile the documents. Did you guys use a clearbook with tabs? Or like an envelope with partitions and tabs?

    3. Do we need to send an I-134 (Evidence of Support) along with the I-129 form?? or I-134 should be brought on the interview only?

    4. We have so many chats, call logs and pictures. How many screenshots and pictures should we send? Im afraid it'll overwhelm the USCIS officer if we send too many of them.

    5. Im from the Philippines and we have read that Joint Sponsorship isnt allowed here, but that's not confirmed because the site where we read it from isnt really an official site. He has enough evidence of support but his mom wants to make sure that our petition is really strong and wants to be a joint sponsor. She wants to fill out an I-134, too. Is this possible for K1 applicants from the Philippines?

    6. My lawyer stated that there would be a lot of documents from the court regarding the annullment of my previous marriage. What specific document do we need to send along with the I-129F?

    7. I have a 6-year old son. He'll turn 7 on November. Does he also need to attend the interview when the time comes?

    8. The police certificate that US embassy requires after they send the Packet 3, is that a police certificate from the current address only?? or ALL the addresses that I lived in since age 16?? I grew up in Negros Occidental and moved to Manila when I was 19. I have lived in Paranaque, Quezon City, Marikina and Pasig (current). Do I need to get a police certificate from ALL these cities?? Note: Police Certificates are only valid for 30 days

    9. We are thinking about mailing him the Intent to Marry (since it needs to be original with signature) and leave the date blank. Then he can just fill out the date when the Annulment documents are ready. Do you think it is a good idea?

Im sorry.. I know that's a lot of questions. But I know you understand that we are just being cautious and want to make sure everything goes smoothly. Im looking forward for your help guys! Thank you
