It took quite awhile despite expedited. But at least it has been approved now. Congrats. I think your phone call to them probably served as a wake up call. Then they started to process it.

Don't think phone calls actually do anything at all... From a lot of the experiences that I've read it's mostly a waste of time and they don't have any more data on the process than what you see on the online system. Occasionally they will tell you where yours is being processed but that's not got much to do with when you will get yours unless it's been too long already.

  2. Been lurking here for a couple months now... Thought I'd update with my timeline...

Dec 2nd 2020 - Naturalization interview and oath ceremony.

Dec 3rd - applied for passport at local USPS office around evening.(applied expedited with priority mail back)

Dec 18th - got an email around 7 pm saying they received application and in process, checked online tracker, it said same thing. (Was starting to get worried)

January 12th - got an email at 1:40 am saying that my application had been approved!😍 Was over the moon and very happy. Then at 2 am got another email saying it was shipped yesterday but the tracking number still only shows label created.

Very thankful to be at the end of this very long process of becoming an American... Glad its done and glad I can travel again now...

P.S. just a data point they did say within 20 business days from when they get it for expedited and I got a message on the 16th business day.

  3. Adding us to the list:

    I-751 Sent 06/18 (Upstate NY)

I-751 Recieved by USCIS 06/19 (Texas Lockbox)

    Text notification 06/24 afternoon (EAC#)

I-797 NOA and Extension letter recieved in the mail 06/26

One week is pretty good processing time for this part of it IMHO...

Best of luck to everyone here...

Thanks very much! You got scheduled 2 months from when? Was it when your online status changed you got notified of your interview date, or within two months of your status changing you had the interview? I feel I'm becoming obsessed with this all now...... sigh.

hey @Rachelberry welcome to this topic, I would suggest that, as the one thing most of us have lots of, is free time (due to the fact that we are going thru this process and cant do much else till its done or at least till we get EADs) maybe you should go back 10 pages or so and start reading all the posts from then on, as you might find the answers to questions that you have asked as well as some questions u didn't even know u had... In my opinion that would help you understand what most of us have been going through and how most of our timelines look... Just a suggestion...

P.S. dont worry about being obsessed, almost everyone on here are obsessed about their cases and that's very normal...

    Hehe you're welcome :)

You're right! I'm expecting for the card to be mailed out to me by Tuesday and receive it by Saturday (latest next Monday) ^_^

Yessss I hope this week is your week, it has to be!!!!:dancing: Ohhh yes, that's exactly what the officer at the InfoPass appointment told me. She even told me the day that my case was passed to the 'adjudication stage'. From that day to the day I received the status update, 15 days have passed. Did the officer on the phone tell you when your case was passed to the adjudication stage?

    Hey Flower1,

120 days as of today :clock:!! My case was with an adjudicator last Wednesday. I'm so tired of waiting .

Did they mail you your card ? I'm trying to find out how long it takes from the date the card is being produced til you receive it!

    @Flower1 & @A+S

Its always nice to see you two talking and keeping each others' morale up! this is what VJ is all about, its almost like a buddy system in school lol so that you wont get lost... :D

BTW sometimes the status doesnt even change from card is being produced, I currently have a priority mail on the way to me from the USCIS Corbin KY CPF or Card Production Facility and it should be here today(hopefully its my GC), I know about it coz of USPS informed delivery and myusps and my status still says card is being produced... Fingers crossed and hopefully I will have GC in hand before end of day today... Best of luck with the rest of your process!

Congrats to all those who have received their EADs, scheduled for interviews and received their green cards. It's encouraging to see April filers making progress. :)

I had a question for all those waiting for their I-485 online status to change (for those of you who don't have interview dates yet): is there anyone still at "fingerprint fee received" or do all of you have it changed to "case ready to be scheduled for interview" ? I'm still on the former stage and it's past 120 days. :clock:

I think you should put in an SR about that @strider4 coz it does seem that some people at least have gotten that status change and 120 days is too long to go without a status change and i don't think you have anything to lose with filing an SR... Best of luck with your process...

Hi all, I have a question. Is it possible to know where your case is at? My I-797 receipt starts with MSC so I thought it is in NBC. But when I look at processing time for I-485 in  the webpage of USCIS I see no row for I-485. I can see it for I-765 and other forms.

i-485s are processed at the local office after initial processing if i understand this correctly so u shud be checking your local office's processing times for i-485... Best of luck with your process...

Got my card finally! After a headache trying to chase down the letter because it was mailed to my old address, I contacted USPS and they were able to hold the letter at the post office for me before it was out for delivery!

I'm so relieved!! Good luck to everyone stil waiting!!

Congratulations!!! that's a lucky break coz i thought USPS could not do such things with mail coming from USCIS as it is of a sensitive nature and has to be delivered to the written address itself, but anyways I'm happy that you got through that without too much trouble... best of luck with the rest of your process...

I meant to write this post earlier, but my husband received his greencard! He was adjusting from a B2 visa. Our interview was July 18th in Chicago.  We had to wait for a long time (didn't start interview until about 45 min after our appointment time), but it seemed like that was because of some odd case with the interviewees before us.  Ours was over within 20 minutes, the man was friendly and didn't have too many questions, just flipped through our initial submitted evidence and asked me for the copy of our lease that we had just renewed the week before. He asked me how we met, if we had met each other's parents, and then everything else almost was just casual conversation really. He told us he would approve our case and we received the card in the mail one week after the interview! What a great feeling :)

    congratulations...

Hi guys. So far I went through this process without any obstacle until today. I would like to know if you have similar situation.

-EAD went smooth. (Received on July 26th)

-SSN went smooth. (we went on July 28th)

    -Driving license went smooth

Yesterday, I accepted a job offer and they put my information into the e-verify. However, I received a TNC (Tentative NonConfirmation) because information they have entered differ from what SSN or DHS have in their system. The lady thinks it is because my SSN is so new but I never heard anyone here have the same problem and people seem to get their job relatively quick after their EAD...It makes me worried a little bit..

Hello, I am sorry I can't help with your problem. But I am wondering if you could tell me did DMV need your SSN to give your Driver's liscense?

    19 hours ago, Jessleb said:

I don't know if they ''Needed'' it but they definitly used it. My husband was there with me and they made him fil a paper too. I went to a NY state  DMV. I hope it helps you.

I am surprised that you ran into that problem @Jessleb and you are right about the fact that we haven't seen many posts stating that they had a similar problem, hopefully its just a clerical error and fixed fast... Best of luck and gooooo Bills!!! :D

@Cynthia68 in New York state you do need the SSN to get a drivers license... If you don't have one and cant get one, you need to get a letter from the social security office stating that you are not eligible to get one or that you cant get one at this point in time, and bring it with you, that's what i had to do when i went to get mine...

Thank you @Adam D it was what i was hoping for too and i was soooo nervous i was worried about clammy hands while meeting the IO and him thinking that i was nervous for a reason LOL... thankfully he never shook hands with me till i reached out my hand on the way out to shake his hand and thank him which my wife said i shud not have done(i don't understand why)... Best of luck with the rest of your process... hopefully your process will be straightforward too...

I tend to agree the F-1's have already had an interview just before entering the country...

... there's less need to re-interview which is why you see a lot of waivers. Presumably the backgrounds have all been done too so the paperwork is already pretty much assembled...

The K1 Visa you marry after arriving in the usa... so I have to think a follow up interview is crucial...

In my case, even though we've been married 10 years in the USA. An interview is mandatory.

USCIS needs time to get our paperwork together..

... it bums me to wait while other people are getting waivers but I understand the importance.

It's the only chance immigration has to ferret out fraudulent marriages...

    ... at least that's my 2 cents.

As far as I have seen F1 didn't get a waiver but an interview. The ones that can get a waiver (as far I know from visa journey and the USCIS website)is that K1 can get a waiver, because their intend is to marry and we also had an interview before entering. What I've heard is that with a waiver you wait longer. People I know who got a waiver had to wait 7-12 months.

hey @britontherun, i do agree with @KimberleyVDB here as only people adjusting from K1 can get visa waivers as their sole purpose in coming to the US on a K1 visa is to get married to a USC but F1 holders have to attend a compulsory interview as there are conditions attached to an F1 visa one of which says very specifically that you shouldn't have the intend to live here permanently after school is done... I don't know whether F1 to AOS applicants get faster processing (i really don't believe so) but i do know that if your interview gets waived(adjusting from K1) its usually a longer wait than if u get an interview especially if your local office is a smaller one (I'm basing this off of people's timelines on here as well as from youtubers that i have watched go through this process)... I really cant guess which one is easier on you, having to go through the interview or having to wait longer but given a choice (especially now, since my interview was a breeze :D) I would totally choose to have to go through with the interview as i cannot handle the waiting very well even though I have waited much less time than most people on here... (70 days from PD to interview and 75 from PD to today). hope you get good news soon one way or the other...

BTW Received NOAs saying welcome to America for me and your application is complete for my wife(for i-130) today... status still saying card is in production... Tickets booked, bags already packed flying out on the 22nd hope i get the GC in hand at least by the 19th... Fingers crossed...

Finally got my card yesterday! Thanks for the help from each one of you on this forum and hope good news comes soon for those who are still waiting!

congratulations... that seems like very fast processing times... mine hasn't changed from card is being produced since it changed to that one day after my interview (interview was on 2nd August)... I'm going stir crazy as i keep thinking I haven't been able to go to Canada yet even though its literally 15 mins away from where we live lol coz F1 visa holders need a pre-applied visa to go to Canada... hope i get an update soon...

What sucks the most, is the lawyers are friends, and did it for free. On top of it all, I just found out that my grandmother has cancer, so I might request an expedite of the advance parole because of that reason.

damn! that sucks... you cant even yell at them for taking your money and not doing their job lol... wishing your grandmother Gods blessings and hope you get the AP soon...

Oh look, where one awesome thing happens, another situation appears. I am planning on going to my brother's wedding in Cyprus, and my ticket is booked for the 30th of August, through the 13th of September. I'm currently an L1A visa holder, and was going to use that to come back in the country.

Cool, right? Well, I just found out my L1A expires on September 4th, and I doubt my current employer is going to extend it. I have my EAD, but it is not a combo card, because my lawyer didn't do a concurrent filing with the I-131. My I-131 was filed on May 11th. And on top of everything, my grandmother's health is getting bad, and this is looking like the last time I'll get to see her.

I'm thinking I have to book an infopass appointment, and explain the situation: that I originally requested the advance parole for my brother's wedding, but now that my grandmother is ill, the situation is a bit more distressing.

this is why i hate lawyers... why would you not submit something if its free to submit along with the i-485 package? its coz the lawyer is lazy and doesn't want to do the extra paperwork... there is absolutely no excuse for such behavior from lawyers... mine wanted to charge me 2700 dollars for just filing my paperwork and he didn't even know some of the things that other people have taught me on here... i decided to do it by myself and did a lot of research before submitting my forms and as God was on my side i got approved for my GC in exactly 70 days(after being out of status for nearly 2 years(or cud say overstay))... I do think that i got lucky but still that's 2700 dollars i saved... that's almost 2 weeks salary for my wife... LOL...

My apologies, I just wasn't sure since some people were getting interviews before their EAD so I was a bit confused haha.

Congratulations and you said you were out of status. May i ask you what visa were you adjusting from and did the officer ask you questions from the new i485 or the old one. The new one basically has questions regarding being out of status and work related

I have seen u asking questions about this before but stopped myself from answering coz i didn't want to jinx myself... I am adjusting from F1 and i had been out of status for just over 2 years when i applied on may 24th 2017... He asked me some of the yes or no questions and all of it was from the old I-485 form(i think, as i had submitted the old form and as i was too nervous and was just answering no coz i knew i had answered no on all the questions)... btw if its not a yes or no question from the form you need not worry as they only ask you the yes or no questions from the form under oath as they are really important... Being married to a US citizen negates the overstay or out of status problems so just answer honestly and you wont have any problems... having worked illegally could also be sore spot... hope this helped... best of luck...

  15. Finally!!! After waiting for exactly 24 hours after my interview concluded with bated breath i get a text message saying your status updated and i see this on my status page!!!!
