Yes, the instructions from the doctor said at minimum 4 days before the interview if I'm remembering correctly. But a week should be perfect. 
With our interview being on a Tuesday, I'm not sure how i trust weekend transmissions so we're doing ours the 2 weeks before, just incase. Plus at this point we have nothing but time to kill until the end of March :/ lol

What I have read in other cases is, either sent back or requested back, there should be a memorandum stating the reason.  One of those two have it.
You have NOA2 and CASE Number.
Call both agencies every day requesting status until you hack out an answer.  I think it is more effective than an inquiry that plays lip service...telling you to wait 45 days.
Better to be the squeaky wheel....hawk it down.

My fiance scheduled his medical for 4 days before his interview, which like Janay said, is the minimum recommended. I think they allow this because the beneficiary takes their documents with them to the interview, and they don't get sent to the embassy (as far as my fiance told me lol). But obviously, if you have more time between your medical and interview, it alleviates the stress a little bit more. 

update : Jorge scheduled his interview for 27th at 830.  now I feel sheepish hahaha

States there will be only this email....no letter....look for it...it will come.

we are having some issues. Jorge is a sweet simple man and isn't fluent in English so we have a couple challenges with things like this... he was able to pay . but the message he got after says he cant book interview until his payment is verified which could take 2 days.....  but I believe Ana Maria provided enough info suggesting he in fact can use the web link she provided and schedule his interview regardless..... however.... he wont listen to me because he doesn't understand.... so he is calling the embassy which he is saying is crazy . and I'm at work so I cant really help him. so needless to say I am pretty frustrated too... if I were you I would get on try to pay again.  you should be able to now

FINALLY! We're scheduled. Couldn't get in on March 6, but we're scheduled for March 27! 
So excited! Sent an email to the Dr. to schedule an appointment!
Booking my travel to Rio so I can be there for the interview. 
Can't believe we are finally this close!

I was just able to get a case # from NVC over the phone just now! Horray. How long has everyone waited before they sent the case to the consulate?

Yes! If it wasn't for you all forging the way and keeping me calm I would have snapped haha!

most everything they said that would happen in this process, didn't.
 
wasn't 150 days
no online updates (other than the embassy Transit & Ready)
no NVC supplied interview date
no embassy letter to explain what to do...
(other than the embassy doc that has quite a monopoly and a well documented "email only" process.  By contrast,
is "johnny on the spot" with executing and delivering confirmed appointments within 24hrs.  Look who's watching out for their bread and butter......)
 
yeah, we're just flying by the seat of our pants here and following the people in front.  We are efficient and finally have some control in this process...  
I'm thankful there is a Team Brasil to forge a path to Rio..... Obrigado.

Hi everyone!!! My fiancé is from Brazil too and today our case was sent to the embassy too. I’ve been reading up on this thread and I see a lot of people say once it’s in transit you can submit the form online and schedule an appointment. What website do I access to do all of that? 

Just went "in transit" this morning. I'll give it a few hours and try again.

I believe it's been posted before that for some reason all Brazilian ones state the expedite thing.....?
 
Just follow whatever else you've been reading here in terms of which steps to take first.
 
 

I assume you have not received "The Letter". I'm about to book my flight, hotel. Do you think we even need it? Medical scheduled for next week, interview is scheduled.

Our case status just switched to ready.. I'm shaking, im so nervous

Doctor responded with email, right before lunch and has 4 worksheets attached with information and lead-time for xray, etc.
They will only respond by email - I think you have to return a form to schedule - I did not read all of it, yet (in Portuguese)
I think it says that blood and vaccines are no longer necessary - vaccines can be taken in the States.
 
Some of you already have fiance in Rio
For those traveling into Rio - I understand it can be dangerous right now....its not a good time.
 
I understand it is better to take a hotel near the doctor in Leblon....stay out of center city (where embassy is)
Also to be careful when traveling - bandits on the road.
 
We will be traveling 4.5 hours by bus, through Taubate - then on to Rio.
My fiance is from SP - she is very worried about the whole Rio trip.
Everyone be careful and be street smart.
Try to have some fail-safes in place.
 
 
 

It makes me feel better that we're all in the situation, and that the doctor (from what I was told) seems to be prompt about responding to e-mail and scheduling appointments. So I'm sure they'll get it all sorted out soon. Hopefully we hear something this week.
