My girlfriend Susan and her fiance did not get the visa today. His police record still had not reached him. It looks like the Embassy will not do anything unless all the paperwork is there.
We were hoping they would at least go through the interview and give him a blue slip to come back once he received the police record.
Ladies, make sure you have every single piece of paper they ask for. It is not like it use to be....
IM SORRY TO HEAR THAT. I SAID A SILENT PRAYER FOR THE REST OF THE INTERVIEES TODAY. MAY THEY RECEIVE THIER VISA APPROVAL & VISA IN HAND.
-
Hey everyone It is soooo awesome seeing us all pitching in. I HAVE A QUES. What else is new right? Does the DS 156 have to be front & back copied? I have it both ways & just want to have the correct one given to the Embassy? Please advise.
-

Ok, Ricardo I am going to go through your letter 1 by one.
First take a deep breath. They will give you another interview date.
1. Follow up with the Registrar Generals office & get the correct No Impediment Form. Clearly, someone is looking for the one you have…hope this doesn’t cause them a delay too.
2. Put everything in a Binder. Use clear 3 hole punch sheet protectors so that way you can easily see the document you are looking for & can pull them out. Also it will prevent you from putting holes in them. Im sorry you got someone with such a wicked personality.
3. As Im reading my letter from the packet it says “Fill out in duplicate, but do not sigh, the enclosed Forms DS 156K, DS-157)” you can also complete this form online. So Im not sure what happened there as far as the 156K & 157???
4. Complete a new I-134 that is current & notarized.
5. Go get the updated photos. 4 passport & 2 Profile shot photos
6. This is the first Ive heard of the $335, I was under the assumption that $100 receipt for Visa Issuance was all that was required.
Now, this is just another setback. Stand up & pick up where you left off. You will & can make it past this hurdle. We are all hear for you. & I do truly appreciate you confiding in us as to what happened. I had a feeling your problem was the barcode.
Can any vets please re list your check list for K-1 one more time so all of us March filers will be on our toes. Thank you & Be Blessed.

LovinJA Im glad to see you are near the end of your journey as are many of us the next few weeks. The Paymaster has many locations in Jamaica, your sweetie will be able to find one no problem. Ask him & he will know....usually the city. Settle down. Go ahead an book the flights but be prepared to re schedule if necessary. Im surprised you havent booked yours sooner. I had to book mine last month & they still ran over $1k + we booked JA to JFK to Dallas. So you know the cost & hotel stay in NY will be costly---but we feel it will be worth it. At this point, just make sure your packet is ready & current, pay the $100 fee & wait. Good luck, Im sure you will be fine as the rest of us will.
Make sure your DS156 has the barcode, & make 2-3 copies of every government document.
Thanks!
I am flying from Atlanta, and directly back to Atlanta. The prices are pretty reasonable now. The lowest I've found is $290 roundtrip. I read somewhere that JFK issues the temporary work stamp. Is that why you are flying into JFK? That may be the better route to go if thats the case. Is there a way I can find out if the Atlanta airport issues them?
Great advise about the copies of the gov't docuements!
What $100 fee are you referring to? I know the visa fee is $335, but is there another fee that I should be prepared for?
May we all have success this month!!!
LOVINJA, HERE ARE THE FEES:
$325 for AOS, $170 for EAD and $180 for AP, which totals $675
THERE WILL BE A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE I THE FEES SOON for 2008.

FLIGHT: Yes, the only reason why I would fly around the country is just for that one little stamp. Believe it or not, JFK is the only port of entry that provides is regularly. You can go to: Working & Traveling prior to getting a Green Card (this link is on the main page under forums) You can research there.
Visa Fee is $100.00
I dont know what $335 fee you are talking about......maybe you are thinking about after marriage for the AOS----------Can anyone out there confirm that.

I am starting to panic
The medical appointment is on March 5 and packet #4 still has not arrived yet
It was sent out 15 days ago (or so they say) and still hasn't reach us
It's starting to look like we may have to reschdule, which of course means the records won't be at the Embassy in time for the interview
Isn't packet four your interview date? I see you already have it scheduled. Maybe you can email the embassy telling them you haven't recieved the letter yet, ask them if they could email the date, once to get the responce print it off and take it to the medical. Just grabbing a straws?
You know what DenDen you are right. The packet we got last week was exactly what he picked up at the Embassy. Packet 4 is the interview letter. The letter came way before packet #3. I read somewhere that a poster bugged the Embassy & they eventually emailed it to them. I tried that route but it didnt happen.
-
Welcome LovinJA, you will find a great deal of support here. No you are not losing it. We are all going through the same thing. Best wishes.
FYI, the embassy finally checked some of my emails that I sent over a month ago!!! They are such a mess. Thank God I have all the materials I need without their responses to the email.

Stop, there is nothing in Packet #4 that you need to re schedule for. You just need your interview letter for the medical. Proceed with that. I will email you with the contents for Packet 4, I believe it is a duplicate for Packet 3. NO worries. OK>

Hi Fam,
Just a note for any female beneficiaries who are going to do their AOS biometrics... be sure to take your marriage certificate with you or they will try to make you keep your former name.
Much love,
Mars.

Nannygirl, you know you have it GOING ON! THANK YOU. i will save this for my future filings.
You can't come a farrin an return home without lookin hot or you flopVery true. I'm trying to convince Damien to go home this July for the Sumfest but he said he doesn't have enough time or money to shop...HELLO, it was January
It makes me so mad that everyone expects him to get rich overnight just because he moved to the U.S. EVERYONE wants something when we go back - even people he hardly knows
People we would run into on the street would want him to buy them a beer or just give them some money! Hello.... You weren't even friends when he lived in JA - go away
Amen to that one. Quite Frankly I need the next year & 1/2 to catch up the freakin finances of living in 2 different COUNTRIES!!! Explain that one.
EricDrewry, sorry to hear abou the delay. That seems to be the norm. You are just that much closer though. I thought it was pretty darn odd they didnt want another medical!!! Hang in there. Let us know when you next date is. It WILL happen. Be Blessed.

Does that form need to be done in order to send it with the packet? I just made a copy of his vaccination record.
I smell a RFE coming my way...
Is that for the AOS or EAD? The AOS can take its time we need the EAD.
They finally cashed the checks after 9 days.
thanks for that, we are bringing everything This stuff really does weigh almost 10lbs!!

Have any of you guys had a problem with with your spouse not wanting to go back to Jamaica for the next four years ? My husband stated last night that he would not be traveling back to the Yard untill 2010. I love Jamaica I want to go to Negril next year since I have never been . Would it be totally wrong to go without him
.
Girl, dont argue. Not worth it. Go to another island, there are sooooo many to choose from. Besides that it would be nice to show him other cultures since he has lived in Jamaica most of his life. You can go to the US virgin islands, Mexico, Belize......Or shoot if he really wants a change take him skiing!!! Ha.
-
LovelyJodie, I wish you all the best & good luck @ your upcoming interview. As I see it, just one more step to go.
EricDrewry hello, where are you????
-
i went to Dr Banbury Office at Medical Associates Hospital. i am not sure if we could do that but nothing beats a trying all they can do is tell that they can't help u. Today at my medical a girl showed up to ask them why her brothers medical did not make it to the embassy for his interview and they both did their medical on Jan 9(hers got to the embassy but his didn't). the receptionist said they sent it off on Jan 16 but the embassy said they did not get. so you could try.
Please dont tell stories like that. Its hard enought trying to survive this ordeal.

Your packet looks like a total winner. About your photos, my packet said 6 full frontal view of the facial features. Where did you see 2 sideview????
