  1. HEY GUYS!!! ITS BEEN A WHILE. Took a bit to catch up on the happenings. Just trying to chill out since Im TOTALLY STRESSED!!! WITH 2.5 WEEKS TO GO!!! Anyway, to no avail, Again we will not be staying in KINGSTON. Its not worth an argument so Ill just trust my sweetie & not stay overnight. He feels unsafe & that we will get robbed, car jacked, you name it. Sweetie had his medical this a.m. & all is well on this end. Now we just wait until the big final step.

hi everyone, i had my medical today and it was the most gruelling thing i have ever experience. i got there at 8:00 they open at 7:30 but didn't leave until 2:45 pm. the staff at the doctors office was very rude. all the best to eric today.

HEY, IM GLAD YOU GOT IT DONE. They told him they would send the results to the Embassy. Did you inquire too?

yes i did inquire they said they would send it off. some persons who came for the medical today and has their interview on the 27 or 28 of this month was told that the result won't be there at the embassy when they go for their interview.

That must be a nightmare. Im so glad we knew to do this in advance. No excuses I tell you. Do you think we dare call the Embassy in a week to confirm if it is there or check with the Dr. Office. Where did you go?

Thanks Sonshyne. We are trekking along.

  4. Thanks for the well wishes again. I leave for JA Saturday morning. Hopefully the little snow we are expecting won't cause any delays. Tuesday Interview III Revenge of the Rasta. :)

    ===============

OMG, EricDrewry. I am so excited & nervous for you. You have worked & waited so long. All the best wishes to you. Let us know the second you hear those magic words. (or at least when you come up for air). I must know how fax Airpak delivers. BE BLESSED......This is one is already written.

  5. happy weekend, everyone...

i hope you are all somewhere warm. it is freezing here in iowa and i'm getting cabin fever...i do, however, now have all the time in the world to sit in the house and obsess over whether or not we have everything put together properly for our interview (march 6)...is everyone else with interview dates freaking out, too?!?! :)

    a couple more questions...

1.) what-all needs to be notarized in the paperwork we're taking to the interview? i know that the affidavit of support stuff needs to be, but does that include bank statements and miscellaneous supporting documents like that? or is it just the i-134 form, job letter, bank letter and taxes...? and is it pretty much just the financial stuff that needs to be notarized, or is it everything we're taking...?

2.) how much is the courier service for the delivery of the visa?

3.) what did you all take for "evidence/proof of engagement"? we have tons of "evidence of ongoing relationship" stuff, but i'm not sure what they're looking for as far as proof of the actual engagement...i have a ring, and i think we can come up with the receipt for that...is there anything else we should get?

my brain is fried...any perspective or help you guys could give would be GREATLY appreciated!

Keishno, hello. I am also going nuts. My interview is 3/13. Perhaps some veterans can help you out. But from what Ive read before only the I-134 will need to be notorized. The courier for Airpak is 8.00 & you can choose different locations for the visa to be delivered too. I am going to choose Kingston to prevent any further delays. Previous Interviewers please post. Thanks & good luck to us both.

  6. Does anyone know how much a criminal record check costs in Jamaica?? And what they ask for? And where do you have to go?

Just realized I'm going to need one since I lived in Jamaica for 12 years...

Looked at a website here, they want a set of fingerprints (£60), the Jamaican High Commission to notorize them (£15) and an application fee (£38)!!

Now, flights to Jamaica are like £300 and I'd rather pay the £185 more and GO to Jamaica than pay £115 here...grrrrrrr

police clearance cost 40.00 US$ & FINGERPRINTS ARE $35. see the following links for service options & locations:

  7. EricDrewry, that is awesome news. Man I cant wait to here you say she has the visa. Seems like a long struggle for you both. Are they not asking her for another medical?? I know you will take copies of everything under the sun you sent to them.

Im glad to be American, but Im even more thrilled that I will have the opportunity to have Jamaican babies!!! The BEST of both worlds.

  8. Missed you guys for the past weekend.

DENDEN: Im sick to my stomache. My prayers are with you. Pray to God for strength,HE has always carried me through. You will see a happier day. I promise.

Well guys, my sweetie got his interview letter from the Embassy on Friday. Of course he didnt tell me until Friday afternoon. So in the meantime I was with you guys dialing repeatedly to the Embassy, literally screaming at the chicks on the phone becuase of 3 lost calls, transfers to voice mail you name it, it happened. I even got to the point I told them I was going to notify my Senator. It was horrible. I really dont think they ever sent the Packet #3. How can that be if we got the Interview letter first???

Nonetheless, it was nice being able to call the Drs. office to make his medical appt. & get such nice friendly helpful voices on the other end. They even said "Youre most welcome". Gotta love the Jamaican language!!!

Sonshyne, it will happen I feel it, this week you will have a date. Yall lets pray for Denden, this is a horrible situation. It could happen to any of us. Its has crossed all of our minds once.

  9. One more question before I leave can I request a date for my interview? I was hoping that my interview could be around March 26 through March 30th. I have that week off for Spring break. Has anyone ever done this?

    Thanks,

    Jax

I tried to do that last year with little luck. What I got was a date 2 days after the range I asked for. I was in Kingston for business. I ended up requesting a vacation so I could stay on the island a few extra days. My boss decided he'd rather have me working in Kingston than on vacation, so I got to stay for the interview.

Well the embassy is now late in responding to my senator.

You know I wonder if those people at the embassy are jealous that they can't migrate. :protest:

I tried a month ago by emailing them etc. They gave me a month later!!! Oh well. At least I tried. They are truly a month behind though in their interview dates.

  10. do i need to attend the interview with my fiance in barbados...its gonna be tough for me to get some time off within the next few months. does this hurt our chances..i am fedxing him all the originals and even more proof of a relationship

Luvtravelin is right. How has your correspondence/communication been so far with their Consulate? Ask him what has he heard about how their Embassy handles their visa issuance. Also, do a search for other Barbados petitioners on the timelines & ask them how their experience was. That should help you decide.

  11. SUSANWILL, you are soooo right. Same situation here with the mailed packet since 12/18 still no mail yet!!! It is crazy. Im going to do the same thing on Friday. I sat on hold last friday for 30 min. & I thought she forgot me. I am excited for you. You have a great deal of determination as I do so I know you will succeed.

SONSHYNE: You may have paid someone to complete your file, but think of the brighter side, you are almost there & what is done is done. Always dont look behind because your BLESSINGS are in front of you.

  12. I totally understand. I couldnt imagine doing this without everyone or access to email or the web. Theres no way my sweetie could have done this--this far smoothly. He is shocked @ how much is required for this process. He keeps saying "so much work, so much paperwork". I cant wait to show him how to surf the web when he gets here. He'll be amazed. No one knows all the details of my newfound relationship. All they know is that he is coming to join me. Thanks you guys for keeping me sound.

  13. good evening / morning to everyone :)

so much great stuff happening with all the new dates...we got an interview date as well, after stalking the embassy...the 6th of march. SOOO excited! :)

i'm great vibes out to everyone still waiting...it is the hardest thing to wait and wonder what's going on...but it WILL start to move soon and it is so worth the wait...

i just have a quick question (for now, there are millions of them buzzing around my brain suddenly) - for those of you who have gone through the k-1 process, how much did his/her medical end up costing? we're just tying to estimate costs and i've heard it is about 250 on average...does that sound right?

thanks to everyone who has sent good energy and given such great info and advice...i would have checked into the loony bin by now if it wasn't for this space... :)

hey keishino. i will be at the embassy on the same day

OK, Im jealous.....I expect you both to promptly submit your reviews since I will be on pins & needles. Good luck.

  14. Good morning everyone have a great day!

Good morning to you. In regards to the Police Cert. My sweetie did the express, but it was not avail. they said for 3 days at least. I believe it was because of the holidays, so dont fret. He went & picked it up a couple of weeks after ordering it without any problems.

As I look back he ordered it on 12/21 Thursday. Call them to confirm the expediency of the report so he wont have to wait overnight.

Thanks for the advice I will have him call the police station. Is the number somewhere on this site?

    Try this #

I am wondering if Neil needs to summit a letter of intent also?? Or was that something that only the petitioner does? I am scrambling around trying to make sure that I have everything together.

Sonshyne, did you not have this in your original I-129f packet? If not both of you should have one. It would be even better if you each have it notorized. Letter of Intent to Marry
