  1. At our interview they said we'd get a followup with payment instructions. Instead, they just sent us the visa.

Now my fiance has it, is she good to fly? We emailed asking how to pay but they didn't answer. We haven't paid our final $265 k1 visa fee.

Now my question is, is someone at the consulate just being nice or do we need to pay this somehow? My fiance is ready to travel and has her visa and packet

  2. At the interview they said they'd send us payment instructions by mail. Now we've actually received the visa and still have not paid. Did someone at the office just give us a break, or do we need to pay for this somehow? We sent another email asking how to pay when the consulate announced it was being printed, but they haven't replied to that 2 days later. We actually have the visa and packet in hand, is it safe to travel?

  3. Finally had the interview yesterday. I flew back to Jakarta to be present. It was very simple, I had dozens of pages prepared including photos, pay stubs, apartment lease, letters of employment, bank statements etc. All they wanted was my 2017 tax returns, I 134, asked a few questions about when we met, our plans, etc. Unfortunately my fiance didn't bring a copy of her DS 160 but they held her passport until she could get home and email it to them. Now that's done and we're just waiting on her passport and entry packet to be delivered. Good luck to all still waiting!

  4. Its actually Jakarta I'm at, but under the "new application/schedule appointment" section, it just automatically completes our transaction without giving a chance to schedule an appointment, and it doesnt show any payment methods, bank account numbers for ETF, deposit slips, anything.... we've tried everything and are totally stuck with this.

  5. My beneficiary and I are getting frustrated with the DS-160 scheduling website - we try to schedule an interview and pay the fee, it just cuts us right to "your transaction is complete" and prints out the barcode page without giving us any payment options. Does anyone else have this problem? Why is this happening? We're stuck unable to schedule her interview because we cant use the website.

  6. I'm running into a difficult situation trying to schedule our interview at the Jakarta consulate. We cant find out how to pay the DS 160 fee - the packet 3 instructions lead us to a website, but when we try to pay it just gives us a confirmation sheet with barcode, no way to take payment or schedule an appointment? The embassys answers just redirect back to the original instructions. Anyone else had this issue?

  7. I received my NOA2 dated April 3rd, now I have an NVC number  and the case is marked as "with NVC" on their tracker. I am not sure if there's anything I should be doing at the moment, is it possible for my beneficiary to go and get a head start on the health check and police clearance? What should we be doing now? Waited so long for the NOA2, now it's finally here and we're uncertain exactly what to do next.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

  8. On the other hand, they also wrote "you indicated you were arrested or convicted" - my petition specifically said "I was NOT arrested, only issued a citation". I was quite clear about this, and the crime in question is not even an arrestable offense in the first place. They also entered my beneficiary's name incorrectly, yet again; so we can assume the USCIS agents' ability to read English is not what it could be. Maybe they just had some daily quota of RFEs to send to prove they're doing their job.

  9. Well they specifically say at the end "Note: Police clearances will not be accepted in place of court documents", and they got it because I mentioned it on the app under the section "Have you ever been charged with any crime". There's nothing on my DMV, I've gotten numerous driver's abstracts since then. I'm wondering if the 2nd notarized statement is supposed to come from myself or some other agency.

  10. "You indicated that you have been arrested or convicted. Therefore, please submit certified copies of court records indicating the charge and final disposition etc etc...

If dispositions are unavailable, you must obtain a certified letter from the court stating that there is no record."

This part seems simple enough, except for the fact that I never indicated that I had been arrested or convicted - I received a ticket for underage drinking in 2002, and I mentioned quite clearly on the app that there was no arrest - they wrote me a ticket and I walked home. I plead no contest, paid $150 in court fees and the charge was removed from my record. Getting a court letter stating there is no record should be possible, but the second part is a bit confusing:

"In addition to evidence establishing that court documents are not available, submit a notarized statement detailing the events that lead to the arrest, what charges were filed, punishments"

I assume they mean a notarized statement from myself, seeing as this information would not be available anywhere else. Correct?

I should be disappointed at how bad their reading skills are, of course they already put in the wrong name for my beneficiary (since corrected) so I shouldnt expect too much from them.

  11. After 218 days of waiting, received RFE. Updated on USCIS website so I still get to wait a week or whatever to find out what it's for. Hard to imagine as I sent a mountain of evidence including passport stamps, business visa, plane tickets, bank statements, a work visa and residency permit in my beneficiary's home country, photos, letter of intent, etc. I can't imagine what else they want; a cup of dirt from Mt. Bromo maybe? I'm still living with my fiance overseas so it could be worse; but still... I noticed every other petition in the scan from July 19th was RFEd too so many they just threw them all back without even looking.

  12. I got so tired of waiting for my NOA2 I went back to Indonesia and got a job teaching English so my fiance and I could be together. This was my career field back in the USA so I had some experience and credentials and was able to find a position fairly easily. The problem now is, how will I prove necessary income during the interview? Even a decent paying job here pays below the USA poverty line. Do I need to find a co sponsor, and will they accept one here? Also, I've got a decent amount of assets, no debt, good credit, about $180,000 in IRAs, $20,000 in personal savings and I own a home(currently being rented out) with about $100,000 in equity. Will this compensate for my lack of job? I'll have to quit to move back, of course, so I'll be jobless when we leave here. Do I go into the interview with a co-sponsor, a big list of assets, both, or what? Any help appreciated

  13. To prove my US citizenship in the initial I 129f package, I sent the info page of my passport - the official site didnt mention needing all pages scanned. Now, im reading some things here and elsewhere about needing to scan every page of the passport - is this necessary? Will I get an RFE for the rest of my passport? I received NOA1 on July 19th; if I do need to send the whole passport what is the best step, wait, or send the full scan immediately to the CA service center?

    Thanks
