  1. Passport was applied for the next day at the post office under routine processing and received 20 days later. Passport card received separately a few days prior. Supporting document (Naturalization Certificate) received one day after theseparately passport in a foldable envelope. Maybe post a note asking the post office to leave all large envelopes outside. I just stuck the certificate in its envelope under a stack of heavy books and it unfurled properly. Went to the Nexus office and gave my new passport and they updated their info and told me to request a new card online, which came in a week. All in all everything went simple and straightforward.
  2. Thank you, makes sense, just wish it really were automatic as they say.
  3. Oath ceremony completed. Scheduled for 12, but really only starts at 1, so make sure your relatives don't mind waiting without you or going to the cafeteria in the meantime. About 100 people from 45 countries. One person had been waiting 36 years for the day. Ceremony was just 8 minutes end to end, had to go to a separate area to take photos. Overall from filing online to doing the oath was about 115 days. Went smoothly with no RFEs or anything. Did General option (5 years as an LPR) instead of based on marriage, as the latter requires more paperwork (tax returns and such), so I highly recommend the general option if available. On the morning of the ceremony the estimator online still said 2 months lol. Next up is a passport (can be as low as one day or as long as 6 weeks, depending on how it is applied for), and updating Nexus (Global Entry + Canada) physically at a Nexus office once the passport is in hand, but that should be fine.
  4. On July 16 (Interview + 8 days) an oath ceremony was scheduled for August 4. So assuming that goes smoothly it would be Application to Oath in 110 days.
  5. Fair point to note MyProgress has now updated to 2 months, so that sounds more accurate to me. Right now it says “Step 5 of 5 (current step): Attend oath ceremony (if approved)” Also note that on the day of the interview there were two updates—your case has been recommended for approval and oath ceremony will be scheduled.
  6. also even today the MyProgress says estimated time to completion is 13 months so I wouldn’t give any value to it at all.
  7. Update: July 8 Naturalization interview went smoothly. I recommend everyone look over their application previously and verify all info before the interview, as you’ll verify it at the interview. Ours had an old phone number that I used for my wife’s application which she didn’t recognize and so the agent needed to change it. She also went over the international trips from the past three years and asked about the trips taken between the time of application and time of interview (which of course weren’t on the application). As you know this includes land and sea trips to Canada/Mexico/Bermuda/cruises that people might not remember off hand. She was told that they’ll send an oath schedule within four weeks and everything should be done within six weeks most likely.
  8. On May 22 (t+37 days) interview was scheduled for July 8. Progress bar still says 13 months until decision, so I don’t really put any faith in it.
  9. Filed under 5 year rule on April 15 Did biometrics on April 21 (rescheduled from a date in May at a much further away location--I'm confused why the default location for the Chicago area is in Michigan City, Indiana, when there are plenty of Application Support Centers in the Chicago area). Case changed to "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" on the same day. P.S. Anyone know how we find out the Filing Location/Processing Center used for us? Mine just says NBC/National Benefits Center for the biometrics appointment, the last notification I received.
