  1. We are also in Japan, and we also recently received a similar message, even though we enclosed the (sealed police certificate envelope -following instructions not to open it, but merely scan and show the envelope), and what I deduced is that for Japan you must take the sealed police certificate envelope to the consular officer at the interview, and only at that time will the police certificate be entered into the system by the consular officer. Honestly, that was the weirdest language when I saw it too, and very confusing. I think my interpretation is correct about how to proceed, but would love to hear if anyone knows anything more precise.
  2. Yeah, assuming all documents are perfect and no RFE, estimates are around 2 1/2 to 3 months to get to DQ. Then, scheduling the interview will take maybe another few months. I hope we can get interview by latest November.
  3. You didn't mention how far along you are in the NVC process, but I had the same situation, where I requested Naha on the 1-130, and when it got to NVC, they inadvertently listed Tokyo as the interview location. I simply went to the public inquiry form, told them of the error, and about a month later, everything was changed correctly to Naha. There was a bit of a concern though, as they will issue a new case ID and invoice number, but if you have already paid all the fees (as I had), it's just an IT transfer and you can log into the new site with no issues. Speaking of time frames, I don't think this has resulted in any delay in my case, as I am expecting to be DQ next month, but if you have been at NVC for a long time, it might perhaps delay your case a bit.
  4. Actually, I just had a somewhat similar situation. I correctly wrote the consulate in Japan where we live, but when it got to NVC they somehow assigned it to Tokyo. I used the public inquiry form and told them of the mistake and it took about a month but was properly changed. So, you can wait until it gets to NVC to address the issue.
  5. We paid all fees and submitted all documents for both I-864 and DS-260 on June 1 in support of application for IR1 immigrant visa for my wife. I did notice upon receipt by NVC that they had made a location mistake with the interviewing consulate (listed as Tokyo and should have been Naha Okinawa). As a result, I sent a request through the public enquiry website requesting them to change the interviewing consulate back to Naha from Tokyo, as I requested Naha on the I-130. Last week I received an email from NVC that stated they had changed the consulate per my request long ago, but that now we had a new case ID and Invoice ID. I am unable to log in with the new ID, but can log in with the old ID and invoice. I am greatly concerned that this is a big screw up creating two cases, and that NVC will mix this up leading to delays. I do not want to send another enquiry by the public website as that takes a month to get an answer, and I am not keen to sit on the phone on hold for hours from Japan either. I was just wondering if anyone had experienced a similar situation and can advise whether I should be concerned and call or not?
  6. Mine just approved was Texas too, so I suspect they are maybe doing the July batch there. Hope you get yours soon.
  7. I-130 Approved. PD Date: 7/4/21 NOA2: 5/14/22 It took just over 10 months, and I was surprised it was approved on a Saturday US time.
