Correct. The Consulate in Casablanca requested updated medical and police records of my fiancee last week. They also asked for my 1040 for 2017. They verbally implied as soon as she turns it in, she'll have the visa "in a matter of days". Inshaallah she'll have all updated documents translated and ready to turn in by this Wed.

So after almost 13 months of zero progress since her interview, my fiancee was contacted 2 days ago to get updated medical, my 1040 for 2017, and a few other forms to update since everything at this point was old. Insha'allah that's good news.

My husband has similar story. He was born in Iran and has been living in Sweden for almost 15 years. His case is pending on AP since January. It's been almost 10 months. There were several updates in September but no news. I contacted the senator office too. They inquired about our case but nothing happened so far.
He also had a pending visitor visa back in August 2016 with no update at all.
I hope this difficult time ends for all of us soon. It's very frustrating

    Hi all,
Been awhile since I last posted on here. Just wanted to give a quick update. My fiancee had her interview back in October 2017 (K1 visa - Casablanca Morocco). She had 0 updates until Saturday September 28th, about 12 months into AP (apparently the consulate worked that saturday due to the pending lottery visas). They called/emailed her and asked her to re-do her medical plus renew additional documents. Once she returned the documents, it took them 1 week to process the visa and they asked her to pick it up in person on Tuesday Oct 16th. She flew to NYC on Thursday the 18th (had no issues at JFK), we got our marriage license on friday the 19th and had our Nikkah on Saturday night the 20th  Wanted to thank all for their support and guidance, my final advice is to be polite, extremely professional and courteous to the consulate when reaching out to them. The average processing time is around the 11-13 month range (in my research/opinion). The congressman we reached out to helped 0%, we found out more info on our own than he did. I truly believe asking to speak to a superior to escalate our case was the reason why it was finally looked at, I would strongly advise all to try the same. If any questions, feel free to reach out.

    VISA:  ISSUED

I checked CEAC today since my husband had his medical (was only 4 days ago) and even though we knew/hoped it was coming along soon, it still took my breath away. Tears in my eyes. Poor guy thought something terrible happened when I called him because I was hysterical.

We are so relieved. Only took about 2 years and 5 months...  no problem!!

Haven't posted on here in awhile... Has anyone heard that visa's are going to be approved in September? My fiancee is part of a group and some people said they heard whispers that next month that a good amount of pending visa's (if not all) should be approved; however, they would not go into details or reveal sources... hence, i'm skeptical about it... just wanted to see if anyone heard anything similar. My hopes are not up, not trying to get anyone elses either...

Okay so my husband is a bit superstitious and didn't want me to say anything until ... but I told him that we have to since everyone here seems so depressed.
Yesterday we got a call from the embassy telling him that our case has been completed and that they are very sorry for the delay. They were asking for a new medical exam. So... I guess we're almost there. It's still surreal to us.
Anyway I just wanted to tell you all so you don't give up hope. The last thing we expected in August was a completed case but that's what's happened.
    You never know.
I hope those rumors are true! 😚😚

Hello everyone, I would like to make this thread as a support group to those impacted by the Travel Ban issued by Trump. PLEASE, if you are not in this category, no need to comment here because we do not need any negative energy! A lot of us are US citizens who cannot even bring our spouses! We do not need to be lectured about how good such a ban can be!

If you are affected by this ban, feel free to ask anything!

I spoke to someone from DHS this morning. He is a member of my mosque's extended community. He had my fiancee's case info and had already looked into it at the request of our Imam by the time we spoke. He was optimistic and is going to inquire his counterparts at the State Department and Consulate Services for answers. He did reiterate what we've all heard as well before that if they deny the visa, it is typically right away. So that is somewhat good news. But essentially he said everything looked good, my background looked good, my fiancee's did as well. Even noting that during the interview in Casablanca that the notes said she was "pleasant and nice".

Then eventually the case just froze where it was after background check was finished. No red flags. No issues. No further processing. No missing paperwork. No unanswered questions. Nothing. Just sitting and open for months and months with no additional processing. It is, figuratively, sitting on a desk waiting for a stamp as everything has been completed.

And yes, I did explain that there were many people in the same situation. He noted because things will take time, it will be 2-3 weeks before he'll get back to me with update. If he is able to help, I will ask him if he is able to help others in this administrative processing blackhole...

Also, he did make a comment about Congressmen as well. He implied they have little impact in the situation and can only ask for status and possibly help if a visa is denied. It doesn't hurt to have Congressmen inquire, but at the same time it has little impact other than a little note to the case that someone from congress asked about it. Which is a bunch of BS if you ask me that the officials I elected to represent me can't help when I need them to....

This is very sad indeed. No one should do this. There is a suicide help lines for any one who would need help. I hope everyone in this group stay safe and strong. There is no need for any one of us to kill his self or herself for not been able to get into the US. In the worth case scenario if one of us completely refused a visa, we need to engage the legal system and also think of alternatives like uniting with our family at another country. US is not the only country on earth where human can live. There are many other happy people around the world living in other peace loving and modern countries like the US. SO PLEASE NO ONE SHOULD GIVE UP HOPE!

    Dear MO&RA
Thank you for your comments. Yes, I received more details about who is managing our cases within the Homeland Security, it is not at the state department. I just do not feel comfortable to share the entire message since I do not have permission to share the entire message in a public forum. I think the most important message for all of us is to keep writing to our senators, I would say in every 2-3 days to ask them to do something. This is the only way w can get the congress to take up our cause similar to the way they have done with the DECA, and the boarder children issue.
