  1. I think what we're seeing is confusion over the organization of society around Western Anglo-Saxon, Judeo-Christian juris prudence which we've had for 1000 years and which is causing confusion among native South American types, Africans and some Asians (the Chinese get it).  This system is what allowed our culture to dominate the world and generate all modern technology and development .. and I do mean ALL.  No other cultures have contributed anything except insofar as they have adopted our system.  So confusing for people.  But if they like it their way, they should just stay the hell out. We are a nation of laws.

  2. This process is so complicated my head is about to explode.  Interview is Thursday ... we'll just bring copies of everything but we have run into obstacles everywhere .. getting names added to bills, car insurance, drivers license, social security #, RFEs for nothing, unable to file 2018 taxes due ti law change on ITINs being eligible for dependent exemptions (new law) ...... just a massive pile up of problems.

Going in with marriage certificate, medical insurance coverage records, daughter's school records, family photos, bank statements and one bill that has both of our names.

    Hello everyone,

I would like to get your ideas on my AOS interview documents. I stupidly got worried cause it felt too easy....

I know I was prepared but I feel like I am missing something...

    *Interview Letter  & new passport

    *Husband (lol)

*Copy of everything I have sent with the initial application

     - I-485

     - Birth certificates originals and translations

     - Old passport with K1 visa bio copy and original

     - K1 visa copy

     - I-94

     - I-129f NOA2

     - DS- 3025 and Medical from K1 copy

     - EAD / AP card

    * Updated I-864 for sponsor and joint- sponsor

-Their birth certificate copies, and the original for my husband as the initial petitioner

      -Pay stubs

-Tax transcript and W2 for the past 3 years including 2018

     - employment verification number for joint sponsor

     - My paystubs and work verification letter (I am a bit wondering if they'd just do it with mine and take my joint sponsor off the hook...)

    * Support/ Evidence of marriage

     - Certified copy of Marriage certificate

    - Leases (Former and new)

     - Renters insurance both of our name is in the policy

    - Utility bills (2 for each apartment as they didn't let us put both names..)

    - Phone bill shows both names with phone numbers

-Joint savings & checking bank account statements since marriage

     - Debit card copies

-Credit card statement when we were moving, showing we both use same card (me as authorized) and copy of the credit cards front to show we both have the same card number

    - Drivers licenses (old and new) showing same address

     - Car title showing we both own it.

    - Car insurance and cards

     - health insurance cards (we only have the new one though... I made my husband as my dependent on our insurance cause my insurance is better.. )

    - Boarding passes for traveling to his dad, and moving to NJ

    - Wedding invitation + some cards given or sent to us (to both names)

    - wedding pictures and wedding picture book

    - cards addressed to us in our old address

    - Pictures with family and friends etc. Not many though... we always forget taking group photos.

    - Pictures from the day we had to let our cat go.. and the card addressed to us from the hospital... (I somehow want to include it... its stupid... but she came all the way from Japan...)

So it feels enough when I write it down like this... but I can't kick that stupid feeling...

Any opinion, any idea, even telling me "go away you're drunk" works...

Great list ..... We're bringing medical bills as we don't have much activity on the joint bank account so far.  Wifey is a homemaker so it gets a little challenging .... School records for her daughter from the local elementary school should be a good one.

Pictures from todays 4th of July parade should cement the deal.

Yes. My wife does not have much income so that help. Filing jointly you suppose to include your wife income as well. But yes I received maybe 4,000 dollars more filing jointly

OK, good info.  I'll go get an ITIN and at least scoop up my return.  I should have been more aggressive in pursuing this info but I have been extremely busy with a job change/re-careering and trying to get a drivers license for wifey.

FILE USA TAX RETURNS: I just wanted everyone to know that I was able to file my USA tax return this year adding my wife on my return and applying for her ITIN number at the same time. Our PD date is January 2019 so hopefully this helps during the NVC phase. We filed married jointly without any problems. It took about 3 months to get the ITIN number, and now the tax return is processing and should be complete in 2 weeks. I just wanted to share my story for those that are considering filing taxes next year and want to add your spouse to prove more bonafide marriage evidence. So regardless of what you hear you can file a joint tax return even if your wife VISA is still pending or not approve.

Did they get you the tax breaks/deductions with the ITIN?

  6. After marriage and waiting on the EAD, Adjustment of status and all that .... can one file taxes with an ITIN and get all the tax deducations for spouse and child?  In my reading of the ITIN application form .. looks like a big fat no.  So I filed an extension ... but my refund is huge and I am getting impatient.

    Hi C90!

Thanks so much for the very valuable insight-- this is great as off the top my head, I know we need her SSN to put her in my health insurance, open up a bank account and apply for a driver's license? not sure... Thanks so much, it's very much appreciated C90

Get that social security # the second day that she is here !!!!!!!! Don't make the mistake I did .. big problems!

I am curious, does she have SSN? If yes, how long did it take to get SSN?

Same question, they refused to give us a SSN before filing for the AOS saying the visa would expire.. now our SSN is all tied up with the AOS packet.  Do they all come at the same time.  The Massachusetts RMV seemed to expect the SSN denial and they seemed to have access to the federal computer system .. what gives ?  They are denying licenses to legal immigrants.

Hi everyone, we are doing aos from k1.  We sent our aos package last week.  The question is:  when we go to the dmv trying to get a state id, we were told that my the fiancée visa must have at least 60 days from its expiration.  Obviously the 60 days has passed.  How did you guys get your state id from the dmv?  🙏

Same question ,, the RMV worker was mutting something about a -5551 .  We just did the biometrics so maybe that it.  She denied us for a drivers license permit. Because (of course) the visa is now expired.

When you create the account, there is a two step notification process with the new system.  After creating the account they will either send an email or text with a pin number to input. The pin number is different every time you login.

False .. I'm nt talking about the two step registration code that drop s to your cell.  I'm talking about a pin they request when you try to register a case to your profile.  They specifically mention a PIN on your approval letter.
