Yes they are different!! I wish I was at home to tell you exactly where it is!
Your I-94 number of course is on that little peice of paper they stapled in your passport when you crossed the border (not sure if your A number is on that also)
But you can get your A number off any of the documents USCIS has sent you!
hope that helps

Some specific vary by office! I was at a very small office, and didn't have to wait in line or anything. I had to sign in and show my photo ID, as did my hubby. I had to fill out a form, than hand it in and wait for my name to be called (my I-94 number, A number, that sorta stuff on the form).
When they called my name I went into an office, he had to verify he didn't make any typo's on the computer than he took my fingure print and pictures, I blinked so he had to take another. He was really nice and personable! We could even smile and laugh without being afraid!!
It was super fast and easy!
That's my experience anyways

Regarding making an infopass appointment: Don't expect others to post what you're thinking. If YOU think that an info pass appointment should be made, skip griping that others having sugguested it, just suggest it yourself.

I have several things I really feel need to be said. I've been busy this week, and just got a chance to catch up on all that's been said.
I trully feel terrible for people who wait an extremely long time to be approved. I expected to have to wait atleast until January to be approved myself. I had already told my family I wouldn't be able to come up and visit them at all until the next year. I did not apply for an EAD either, so I continue to fill my time will volunteering, etc. When I was approved, I, as everyone does, was VERY excited. Suddenly the whole country of possibilities opened put to me. I realize I may have the opportunity to travel to our cabin with my family, and when my husband travels oversees with work, I would now have the opportunity to join him! Than when I saw the speed people were receiving there green cards in I became even MORE excited! But my card didn't come, and I found out it may not even be in the mail due to a 'problem' at CSC. My heart sank. I KNOW alot of people are in a worse situation than I, and I in no way mean to down play that. I just really miss my family, and you spend so much time not knowing when you'll see them again, than suddenly you realize, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SOON, than you're forced to shift back to having no idea when... it's hard, and i"m sorry you don't feel I have a right to be concered about the posibility of my card being lost in the mail, or it not being produced at all due to an error (as read in the press release section of uscis.gov)
Until last week, everytime I used VJ i felt NO personal connection at all. I felt no connection with anyone at all. until DR_LHA, and Flutter started taking a personal concern to my situation. I felt I could share how I was feeling and what was going on, aparantly I was wrong?
I shared my daily happens, because I actually felt someone out there that UNDERSTANDS, CARED about my daily struggle. All us without a green card of EAD sitting at home passing the time just waiting to feel a bit more accepted by this country... that's how I feel anyways.
If I honestly offended you by sharing these things, or if my looking to see if ANYONE else was in the same situation as me (if you look back at the beginning this is why I posted.. I was looking for others in the same situation) I apologize.

Didn't come ... There is today though.... and I'm listening closley for the mail person, the only problem is when I miss them because half the time we get no mail at all! So I'll wonder if they've come or not still! arg.
Anyways Fingures still crossed ................

It didn't come
:(
hope is... lost.......
-
Okay I'm holding hope still everyone... The mail person just might bring my approval notice today... my fingures are crossed.... cross yours for me!!
If it's not here today I will probably assume it wasn't printed as the press release talked about... than I will wait for them to e-mail me back

Congrats!!!!! Patience is something we are all forced to have in this process...
so happy you got it!!!
-
Yippy Yippy!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I wrote them.. but hopefully it comes tomorrow!!!

Do you think I should probably wait til it's been a little longer before I contact them? Maybe the full 30 days since I received the card production ordered e-mail?
Plus they do say they expect to respond to e-mail's within 30 days... in the press release, so it would be awhile before I heard back anyways!
-
Out of interest, have you got your welcome letter?
No I have not received a welcome letter.
Nor did I ever receive an e-mail or update on my case regarding one being sent out.

So the "Notice Approval Sent" is actually the Green Card Sent?
Correct. This was how I was able to predict when flutter would get her GC in the mail, because it takes 2 days for mail to get from Lee's Summit to Pennsylvania. If you look at my own signature, you'll see I got the approval notice email, then 2 days later the Green Card. There is no actual paper "Approval notice" as with a K-1 visa for example.
Gotcha, Awesome, thanks.
so correction....
I hope that press release doesn't apply to my GREEN CARD!!!
I hope it's just a product of Montana USPS..

So the "Notice Approval Sent" is actually the Green Card Sent?
(I'm so happy there are smart people like you to help me understand all this!!!!)

okay I know I'm being a smidge over dramatic.. I havn't waited THAT LONG! but it seems everyone who received the "card production ordered" e-mail before me, same day as me, and many after me have already received the magic green card!!
So is there anyone else who received there card production ordered e-mail near June 19th and havn't recieved there card yet?
Hey there Jimmy....I would hang tight for a little while longer. There's a press release on the USCIS website that says that they're having some issues with approval notices, etc, at CSC. You can check it out in their press room on the website. It might explain why it's a little delayed.
Good luck!
I trully don't care if I get my approval notice anytime soon... I just want my green card!! It doesn't appear in the press release that they are referring at all to actual Green Card production. Just paper notices.

Yay! It came in the mail today, such a relief to see it there with all the correct info on it.
For those still waiting, good luck!
It feels so weird that I actually have it now! Can I just remove my I-94 now? :-)
Congratulations! You still have your I-94? They took mine from me at my interview!
If you get approved without interview, there's nobody to take your I-94, though!
exactly, I was a CSC transferee :-)
