Gotcha, at least it's nice that you have some time to figure it out. But I would suggest the same thing as the other poster, go demand a stamp, since he was approved.
Yeah, thankful we have been on top of things so that we aren't so time crunched.. but at the same time 3 months is like nothing for USCIS when processing times are like 6! Ha! Just sucks to be in this weird limbo land that seems uncommon.. One officer said the GC printer was broken and thats why we are delayed - like I'm sure there is more than one printer in the US!

So they are saying your husband is technically an LPR, but they are having problems producing the proof of that status? I would go back down to USCIS then and demand (nicely) an I551 stamp.
Good Luck!
Pretty much. 3 officers have told us he is still approved, however, without any formal document I'm not sure it really matters. We have asked if there is something they can provide while we are in limbo and they keep saying no. One officer we met with took our phone numbers and said he would request an expedite for the card, but still nothing from him. Thankfully we made an infopass appt a few weeks ago RIGHT BEFORE they stopped taking appointments, so I'll ask for the I-551 stamp. Hopefully that helps!! Thank you!

When does your current EAD expire?
Our EAD expired Dec 2018, however, we have the 180 extension based on our renewal filed in September 2018. In June 2019, the extension would officially terminate.

Hi all,
I'm curious if anyone is in a similar situation..
On 1/31 my husband and I had our AOS interview and were approved the next day (we received the approval letter in the mail as well). However, a few weeks later we received a notice saying that our case had been "Reopened for reconsideration of the previous decision". We made an infopass appointment and they said the immigration officer who interviewed us didnt reopened the case, but it was due to a production error for the card itself. Its been over a month since our status changed and they have given us no timeline and it seems like we are stuck between status'... they also canceled our EAD renewal because they said we are still technically approved....
Has anyone else heard/is in the same situation??

I'm in a semi similar boat... Had my interview on 1/31 and was approved. But then 3 weeks later the case "reopened for reconsideration" and havent heard back for 2 months. Id recommend an Infopass appt if you can. We went and got some answers (but no action) but the piece of mind of nice. Apparently they are slowly phasing out infopass appts though so I'd go while they are still available

Thought I'd provide an update - Apparently there was an issue with the Green Card printer, thus delaying our card production but our approval status is no effected! We dont have any timeline though.. but have an infopass appointment on March 5th as a back up in case the card isnt produced by then.
So happy and relieved to hear the news!!

I understand the frustration in the wait of uncertainty. We got our green card first then the letter stating we would be receiving our green card.
If you decide to call again you could always ask to speak to a tier 2 agent. The call center people don't have a lot of information. Hopefully this will all work itself out quickly. Hang in there.
So weird on your timing! But glad you finally have the green card in hand!
Apparently I can't call in on my husbands behalf (I'm the US citizen) which I find super odd. But I'll have him call in and request a tier 2 agent. Thanks for your help and kind words! Chatting to someone else that knows how stressful these things are is so so helpful/

We had a few confusing things happen as well after our interview. We received a email saying you have had your interview these are a list of the next things you must prepare. They were things we'd already done a long time ago. They ate having lot's of problems with this new pilot computer program. I would recommend calling and asking. To verify. I called and there was no request like the email we had received. Calling will help clarify if this was a computer error or not.
Thanks for the insight! We called yesterday and in standard fashion, they told us that if our case status changed then we need to wait for the letter.. but they didn’t confirm or deny if it’s an error. I got another case update email this morning but there was no change to the case.
feeling a bit frustrated about this step back, but hoping it gets sorted soon!

So we received a notice of approval, however, this morning we received notice that our case is being opened to reconsider the previous decision... has anyone ever had this happen?? I'm super confused, concerned, unsure about what to do.. Our previous status stated "New card being produced" and remained in this status since our interview on 1/31

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive your green card after being approved? Had our interview Thursday and got a fair bit of grilling.. but we got approved! Just curious how long till we physically get the card

Anybody else got any updates? I'm first week of August 2017 and I seriously hope I get any update the next weeks..
Nothing here (but I'm a Oct 2017 filer). I did notice USCIS just updated the timeline from 15 -29 months to 11.5 - 29 months.

As I stated above, for most K1 interviewees, the I693 was filed/submitted well within 60 days of the surgeon signing it. As such, it meets the 60 day requirement which means that it gets the two years of validity.
Yeah, I understand. I was curious what "submitted" meant but it seems like it means when you provide it for the K1 interview. The language was just a bit vague

USCIS announced the policy change here: https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/Updates/20181016-I-693Validity.pdf. To clarify, there might be a small subset of K1 AoS applicants to which this doesn't apply. In reality, for most people, the time between medical exam and submission for the K1 is well less than 60 days. As such, the two year validity would now be in effect. If, for some strange reason, you had the medical exam done far in advance, then unfortunately only get one year of validity.
I'm a bit confused about the 60 day rule. The memo states "A Form I-693 is valid only when a civil surgeon signs it no more than 60 days before the date an applicant files the application for the underlying immigration benefit". Does that mean 60 days before the K1 interview? We didnt schedule medical until we received our K1 interview notice (May 2017). Our interview was June 2017.

Woohoo!! Thanks great news about the interview!!
With the Seattle office finally starting to make moves - does anyone know the approved providers to update medical exams? Since the delays have been so long, We are well past the 1 year it was valid for!

Haven't filed yet, probably won't until November 2018, since fiance is moving here in a few weeks. Out of curiosity, how long did it take for you guys to receive EAD? I don't know how my fiance will do if he can't work for 6 months.
We moved in August, filled Oct 2017 and got ours Dec 22... however the timelines were much shorter last year (around 3-4 months) so we were on the early end. Its so hit or miss its hard to give an estimate but i would be prepared for 6 months just in case. Its not easy! You finance could find some volunteering to keep them busy? take up a new hobby? travel if feasible.. or simply enjoy the time off while they can! Just have to make the best out of a bad situation

Hey guys,
Seattle filer here! I've seen a few others on the July/October AOS pages but thought it would be nice to have single place to discuss any updates.
Has anyone seen any Family-based I-485 interviews scheduled/taken place recently? Visa journey's data states the last interview was in April/May...

Yeah likely! If infopass appointments are still available in their field office, Id highly recommend going. The Officer told us that there are constantly production issue, generally due to production putting an incorrect expiration date. Seems to be some disconnect between the two different groups though so they can't reach out to them? Its all very odd... After 3 weeks without the card, you can also put in a Service Request. We did that a few weeks ago but originally weren't sure if we could since we didn't know if we were still technically "approved", but the officer encouraged us to.
