today i got the NOA-1 notices that both my EAD and AP applications were approved! the notice date was august 12 so it's about a 4 business day delay for me. anxiously awaiting my EAD card! still so over the moon.
-
Update! i got my EAD expedite approval on Saturday August 12! 13 days after filing for it the day of my biometrics. I contacted a local congressman so maybe that helped but honestly things have been smooth for us so far (knock on wood!) I also got an update yesterday that my I-485 is ready to be scheduled for an interview (we filed July 5, biometrics July 31.)
Excited to receive my card and start work!

I think I will try and do that. I wonder if I need to accept the job, or just show proof of offer because I've been looking into a few other options as well!
Thanks!
I believe you only have to show proof of job offer and the desire/intent to accept, because you can't legally accept the job pre-EAD.

Received bio-metrics letter in the mail Saturday (for August 17th). I guess I was one of the few lucky ones who had both combined(said on letter) so I only had to do one. Walked in today(in different city) and they told me to come back at 1pm. Went back at 11:30am and they let me do it. Now just waiting for the EAD. Seriously considering trying to expedite it because I have a few job offers but cannot accept them yet. I'm ready to begin working!
Yes this thread made me double check my biometrics appointment notice and mine was for both i-485 and i-765 as well. I am also in the process of expediting my EAD, I received the request for evidence to be faxed (job offer letter) on Wednesday last week so fingers are crossed I hear back this week!

july 11: NOA1 for all 3 applications received via text message

july 31st: biometrics done

if you google "AOS K1 checklist visajourney" it comes up! I was just hoping for one with the supporting documents also listed. I don't know anything about K2s, sorry!
-
Phew, awesome. Thanks! I have the link to the AOS checklist here on visajourney but are there any more detailed ones I can review for peace of mind?

Hi, I'm in the final stages of preparing my AOS packet. I have the copy of my NOA2 - notice of approval for I-129F application included, however do I need to also send a complete copy of the whole approved I-129F application as well? Thanks!
-
Hi guys! Did anyone send a copy of their approved I-129F application in its entirety, or just the NOA2 approval notice? I am second guessing whether or not it's necessary.

How long after your medical did you receive your results ? congrats btw !
I didn't go pick them up until the morning of my interview, since the buildings are quite close. I was told they would be ready Tuesday, but I didn't check or make an extra trip downtown to get them a day early. They don't contact you, they just tell you to call them no earlier than 3 business days after the appointment.

Anyone else have their NVC case status change to "application received " after the interview? It said ready before.
mine went ready --> application received --> administrative processing --> issued. it was issued the day after my interview, which was last week. hope that helps!

I just went through port of entry in Montreal for a flight to Washington, D.C. I went in the customs line and was taken to a big waiting room behind the agents in cubicles, and they took my large packet + passport. I waited there for about 8-10 minutes and then a CBP officer came over to me and gave me back my passport and said "you're good to go!" and reminded me about the stipulations of the visa (married in 90 days, can't re-enter Canada until AOS) and congratulated me. Very chill!

I decided to make a go of it to Montreal, and I ended up being here almost 2 weeks. I flew in on Wednesday for my medical on Thursday, then had my interview the following Wednesday, got my visa in hand on Friday, and booked my flight to the US for the following Monday. (June 7-19, total).
I found an airbnb in Montreal for $20 per night and it was very comfortable - a simple room in an apartment with another girl, and I was able to buy groceries and cook so that helped with costs. The last minute flight for today was expensive ($200USD) but not that bad. Glad to have it all done in one go and grateful the processing after the interview was speedy.

I thought I would update this just in case anyone else this week is looking for the answers I was last week!
Interviewed Wednesday at 9am, approved, CEAC went from "ready" to "application received" that afternoon. Thursday morning at 10am status changed to "administrative processing", at 10:30am changed to "issued", had visa in hand Friday morning (pickup at post office in Montreal).
I'm Canadian, my fiancé is American, we've been together for 8 years and met/lived in Canada for 6 years (he was on a student visa). All in all our process was smooth each step and took almost exactly 6 months from filing date (Dec.12/2016) to visa in hand (June 17/2017). It could have been shorter, as I could have scheduled my interview for early May, but I needed to go back and forth from the US to Canada early June so we scheduled the interview for mid-June after travels. POE is today in Montreal

You can mail your AoS application from anywhere; where it goes is determined by where you live, not where you currently are in the US at the time.
You can apply for an SSN in the same manner, at any SSA office in the country. You should do that asap after PoE, with at least 14 days of validity remaining on your I-94.
Awesome thanks so much! That's what I figured but I just wanted to double check. We're planning on getting married 5 days after POE, so I'm hoping to file SSN the following week. Am I okay to file my SSN with my married name as I will my AOS documents? Thanks again!

Hi guys! This might be a silly question but I wanted to ask - I received my K1 visa yesterday and my POE is Monday in Montreal, heading to Maryland. On Friday of next week I'm flying to California for 5 weeks, my fiancé has a summer work position there and we're getting married in Cali before we come back to Maryland in August. Minus our marriage certificate I have our AOS package ready to go, so I'm wondering if it's okay for me to file it from California as soon as we're married? And follow-up question, I'd also like to apply for my SSN sooner rather than later - can I go to any SSN office with my paperwork (as long as I've waited the 2 weeks for my name/I-94 to be in the system), or does it have to be my "local" (long term domicile) state?
Thank you for your help!

I had my medical in Montreal and the first thing they asked for was the email that confirmed the scheduled date of my interview appointment - I printed it, it also had the confirmation of my payment. I would guess it's the same thing?

Just found this subforum! We filed on December 12th, 2016. We got P3 on April 16th, I filled out the DS160 and emailed back on the same day, then received P4 and was able to schedule my interview on April 18th. Due to needing to come and go in the US for graduation, we scheduled our interview for June 14th, yesterday! I arrived in Montreal last Wednesday, the 7th, and did my medical apt at Medisys on Thursday the 8th.
June 14th: Interview at 9am, CEAC status change from "Ready" to "Application Received" (2pm)
June 15th: CEAC status change from "Application Received" to "Administrative Processing" (~10:30am)
June 15th: CEAC status change from "Administrative Processing" to "Issued" (11am)
I've been refreshing every few minutes and couldn't BELIEVE how quickly it went to issued. Crying and freaking out. Fingers crossed for tracking info soon because I'm picking up here in Montreal and just want it in my hands and for this part to be over!

Hey guys! My case also went into Application Received - here's the breakdown.
I had my interview yesterday morning, June 14th:
June 14th: CEAC status change from "Ready" to "Application Received" (2pm)
June 15th: CEAC status change from "Application Received" to "Administrative Processing" (~10:30am)
June 15th: CEAC status change from "Administrative Processing" to "Issued" (11am)
I've been refreshing every few minutes and couldn't BELIEVE how quickly it went to issued. Crying and freaking out. Fingers crossed for tracking info soon because I'm picking up in Montreal and just want it in my hands and for this part to be over!

What's the AP? I've seen some get theirs 2 days later, just curious if anyone super recently in montreal could report
-
nanaalex- did you pick yours up or have it delivered? I just completed my interview and am waiting in Montreal for my visa, i've scheduled pickup at a post office.
Thanks!

for me it was only a text message via the USCIS website - i had signed up for the text alerts. no official email from USCIS, and the text wasn't the same kind as the receipt notices for our initial I-485 application.
