  1. After waiting forever like everyone else my interview for the I-751 was on 09/07/2022 I got the same officer as my I-485 he asked both my husband and I what we did for work and that was it we chatted more about life and marriage but no other questions and approved it he told me he wasn’t going to order me a GC because I already filed my 400 application. my approval notice said I was approved for both the I-751 and the N-400 and I needed to be scheduled for the oath ceremony. On 11/25 got notification that an interview was scheduled for the N-400 not sure what the notice since I called to find out the date since I’m traveling twice in December luckily it 01/04 almost to the finish line good luck to everyone still waiting

I think they did some "system update"...

My status just changed from "ready for interview" that I received in February changed for "ready for interview" since October 20th, so in their eyes I'm waiting for my interview for only a few days...

Me too i have ready to be scheduled Feb 25 and on sunday it refreshed to October 23 ready to be scheduled for interview, i have an appointment on November 2 for a stamp since my extension expires november 25

Hi everyone! I finalized my packet today and will be sending out this week. Mailing out of NJ to TX, probably via FedEx. My card officially expires 7/25. My packet includes:

Cover letter (i mainly use it as a personal checklist)

    Check

    I-751

    Supporting documents:

    1. A copy of the front and back of Resident Card.

    2. A copy of the marriage certificate

    3. A copy of our most recent car insurance bill (just included most recent, has both our names and current address)

    4. A copy of the birth certificates of our two kids

    5. A copy of my life insurance policy (just the Declarations page which has my name and beneficiaries who are my husband and kids)

    6. A Copy of the travel itinerary for our family trip taken in 2019.( 1 page)

    7. Copy of taxes for 2017, 2018 & 2019. (Just federal, they are 3 pages /year)

    8. Photo book (a simple color photobook from shutterfly. Purchased for this specifically. Felt it was easier for me to put all photos together, labeled pages by year. Shows story of our family. Not sure if they scan picture files, they may not be able to scan them since its in a book but, a lot of them they already have from initial application.)

IN other posts i noticed people were sending large packets, some with 200+ pages. Mine has only 33 pages total including the I751 which is 11 pages. Makes me a bit nerveous but hope this all is more than enough. Good luck to everyone!

Don’t feel bad I sent the same stuff you sent once you’re marriage is real like mine it will be just fine I didn’t even put photos into an album I just sent a pile that I printed from Shutterfly I was running out of time so I didn’t have time to do an album esp with the whole pandemic and we don’t even have kids so that’s a plus for you

  4. Hi everyone I sent my packages on 04/23 UPS tried to deliver it on 04/25 but it was a Saturday so it was official delivered in 04/27 waiting for check to be cashed and/ or text and email confirmation do receipt of documents my green card officially expires 05/25 kinda cut it close with submission since my husband is an essential worker he’s been working crazy none stop but it has arrived and the waiting has begun

  5. I agree with the initial post on this topic because I’m in NY and I sent my medical with my package and sat the interview this past Wednesday 05/23/18 my officer approved my I485 but He gave me a letter to bring a new medical to his office which I did right after my interview so I took it back that Friday 05/25/18 and he sent my approval through in less than a half an hour to be honest if I knew what I know now I’d probably wait until the interview because the letter they send you for your interview it states to bring your medical

    unless you submitted it

After 375 days (PD May 15th 2017) I received the email today to say that my interview has been scheduled. Here’s hoping the notice comes in the mail by the end of next week..

My case is at the Montgomery AL field office. Has anyone any advice on how long it takes to receive the notice?

Good Luck to all those waiting, it is a frustrating and sometimes depressing experience but all we can hope for is that these offices get faster at working on cases..

Takes a week from the email

  7. Im back with the best news of all so after the interview on Wednesday and having to postpone having my GC approved right away i got my medical redone that day right after the interview and today i picked it up and took it back to the Officer with the letter he gave me and in about an hour of leaving got the email saying my GC is production.

Question. My medical expired on April. Should i get another medical before the interview and just hand the envelope to the IO or do i have to wait for him to give me the RFE at the interview?

being that i did my interview on wednesday and they made me do mine before making the decision i think you should get it done and have it incase they want it i wanted to do it but i didnt want to waste money but do it just incase so you done have to wait

    Hi Everyone,

I'm filling out the the I-130 and I have a couple of questions

    SPOUSE BENEFICARY SIGNATURE. Question #6A.
Spouse Signature: Do I put RESIDE OVERSEAS?

     DATE OF SIGNATURE. Question #6B.
Date of Signature:  Do I leave the question 6b. blank with no date?

The instructions indicate beneficiary does not have to sign however after reviewing the website its states not to leave anything blank. I want to make sure this will not delay the petition.

Thank you for your time in helping me :)

i might be wrong but if my memory serves me right if your spouse is over seas they are suppose to fill out their application and either im guess they send it to you and you send the paper work all together or there's a lock box for their specific location but their signature must be on the forms

    Interview update:

Probably had the worst interview experience. The officer was super mean and rude. She didn't believe in our marriage from the start because we got married after 9 months of dating. She gave us a RFE for the support because my wife income is lower than the min even tho I submitted the documents back in May, and RFE because she think our marriage is not bonafide even tho we had rent agreement, couple of bills, joint saving account, and dozens of pictures.

She gave us until last day of Oct to send everything. It is really depressing.

Keep you head up, I hope everything works out for you guys i’ll keep you guys in my prayers

We had our interview today in Detroit. Just wanted to share our experience.

We arrived about 25 minutes early. After we went through security and reception, we were told to sit in the waiting room where my name would be called.

The appointment was at 13:10. We were called at about 12:55. I'm assuming we were in the system as "arrived" or something since we were called early. We literally walked in, took an oath to tell the truth, verified our names, address and birthday and left. Our application had apparently already been approved. The woman explained that they used to be able to waive the interviews, which we knew, but now they are required to see everyone face to face. Even if there is no real reason. We were back on the road at 13:07.

She told us that my green card would arrive in 2 weeks and to please keep our address updated in the system for when we have to file the i-751.

    Simple as that!

Congratulations to you enjoy 😉 hopefully the rest of us will be at the GC approved point soon😀

I hate to be one of those people who correct minor mistakes but anyway- 48 states have the same 125% poverty guidelines. Alaska and Hawaii have higher amounts. So its not really each state is different. Only 2 are.

That’s cool it’s all a learning process she could be in one of those two states so it never hurts to say check right

Hi. Just wondering if anyone can give me info on the affidavit of support when filing for adjustment of status.

part5. Sponsors household size. Would this be 2(for me and my husband) or just one, for me as I am the only one he is sponsoring?

part 6. Income you are using. Would we leave this bit blank as we only have my husbands income?

part 7. Federal poverty guidelines- can anyone tell me what this is?

im sorry if these seem like silly questions but before filing I am doing drafts of each form so that I can ask any questions I need to.

you only count a person once so if its just you and your husband then it should only say two, you can look up what is the poverty income amount for your state because ever state is different

I worked for a company for 2yrs with a SSN that says not valid for employment and I have paid for taxes, Would that be a problem to file for AOS I have read its forgiven since Im married to a us citizen.

    Thank you all

Its all forgiven because you are married to a UC  you need to put it because if you lie it will not be forgiven then and they will never trust you so put everything

Today was our interview appointment at 08:50 am.

We arrived 08:20 at the office.
    i was really nervous...
we were sitting in the waiting room when a officer came at 08:45 and asked if we can start earlier.
    He was around 35 years.
we went to his office and he said we should stand up for the oath that we will tell the truth.
he wanted to see my passport and my husbands ID.
i had everything in a folder with post-its and he was impressed and said it's good that i'm so organized. than i gave my fingerprints.
after that we, chatted about the weather bc it was raining really bad.
He asked me about my full name, date of birth and where i was born.
He wanted to know If this is the first marriage for us and i said yes and the last.
    We all laughed.
than he read my address and asked if this is correct and if i lived somewhere else before in the US.
After that he asked all the yes/no question on the form (those are the ones like 'have you ever killed somebody?')
after that he asked how and when we met and how many times i visited the US after we met.
How the wedding was and if we made any trips inside the US.
he wanted to see support evidence ( we had life insurance, health care, car insurance, power bill, internet bill) and asked if he could keep them.
i asked him if he wants to see pictures or something else but he said no and that he has enough proof.
than he said everything looks good and he will double check all papers again and normally during the day my case is approved and my greencard will arrive in 4-6 weeks or earlier.
if not he will send us a letter with the papers they need but he said it looks really good and we should not worry.
at the end he printed papers and explained how to apply for the 10 years green card in 2 years.

after 25 minutes we left his office.

it was more like an nice conversation than an interview an the officer was really nice.

    Congratulations 🎈
