We have the dreaded Error message and now it says my IP is locked out.  I only tried looking 5 times...not 50.  :o

Call them and ask to get transferred to a tech support rep (make sure it's not an immigration officer). Tech support people will be able to tell you what's up. Based on experience and what I read here so far, those who suddenly got the error message had a recent update to their case and it's usually that the interview letter was sent. Only way to find out is to call as that error isn't going to get fixed. Btw, I got that IP locked out message as well.

Anyone here (january filers) got their AOS scheduled for interview, but did not receive the mail notice yet? I still did not get my mail notice. How long they usually mail this notice? I’ve seen some here who got their mail notice already. Yay i keep checking my mailbox and it’s getting frustrating.lol

How long has it been since you saw the status? If it's just the status saying ready for interview, it may take months (even a year) for you to receive a letter. My cousin has been on that status since September 2017. Some of us never even got that status as our cases became un-trackable... but we received our interview letters. It's really hard to tell when you'll receive it or if a letter was even sent as like I said, a lot of people get stuck on that status for months. Only way I was able to find out I was sent a letter was when I talked to a tech support representative.

That's what I did but the automated system said receipt number not valid I'll try again next week

You're not going to enter the receipt number. Just keep pressing the option that says "(still) can't find my receipt number" and it'll eventually connect you to a human being. :P I posted the numbers to press here around page 54 I think. I'll look for it later but I think it's 1-2-2-2.

Hi, this happened to me as well since last week. So I called USCIS and the second tier person told me an interview notice was sent even though she couldn't see when the interview date would be. We'll see if the paper notice arrive in 15-25 days as she said, so definitely call them to check!

Besides, does anyone know if a "relatively early" AoS interview will slow down EAD card...? I'm waiting a bit impatiently. Thanks!

The exact same thing happened to me in February. :) Your interview schedule is will most likely be a month after the letter was sent. My letter was sent on Feb 27 and my interview is on April 3.

And to answer your question, no it doesn't, but keep in mind that EAD and AP will not be necessary once you get your green card. So if you get approved on your interview, they *may* no longer send you your EAD and AP. I still don't have any news about mine and I'm not worried. All I gotta do is pass the interviw on Tuesday. :)

HOw many days of error messages you’ve had before you made a call?

As soon as I noticed it. I got a notification from the app saying my case status was updated, but when I went to check, it gave me the error. I called right away and was transferred to a tech support rep who told me this is a known issue and they are still working on a fix. For some people, it gets fixed over time but for some, it never gets fixed. So yeah, only way to find out your case status now is to call and tell em about the issue. Ask for a tech support rep because Immigration Officers are rude and will only tell you the same BS tier 1 officers say.

My aos stills on validation error when checking online and even on app. It’s been 5days now. But my ap and ead were fine. Should i be bothered now?

I've been having the same issue since February. It's a system glitch that they can't fix, so the only way to find out the status of your case is to call and ask to be transferred to a tech support rep.

It seems I can no longer check my case status online the date on the i485 did change to the 26th March but when I try to check I get an error message but the ead  date didn't change and works fine when i click on it. Maybe it's for the best so I can keep my sanity dwl

That's the same with mine. When I check my case status via the website (not logged in), I get a "user-defined error" message. When I check it while logged in, it shows me the date it was last updated but the status is blank. I'd call them if I were you. A tech support rep will be able to tell you the most recent update. If you get transferred to an immigration officer and not a tech support rep, they'll just tell you your case is in process. I talked to 2 IOs and they both said I wasn't going to get anything, but the tech support guy said I was sent an interview request.... and he was right.

hi! goodluck on your interview. btw i saw on your timeline that you did check your case online however its giving you an error and you called uscis to check. It is the same for us. we cant view our case online its almost a week now. do you think we should call uscis also?

Thank you! Yes, I definitely think you should call and tell them what's up. This is a known issue and they have no fix for it right now. But... The rep can connect you to a tech support person who has the tools to see what's going on with your case. Immigration Officers don't seem to have the same tool.

I am not sure. I did medical examine in VN last Aug 2017 and it will be over 6 months since then till April 2018, so I think that's why they requested in the letter to bring it with me to the interview. Anyway, I think I better do it just in case they will ask again on the interview date.

    11 minutes ago, Julia80 said:

I really hope that is not the case. I really don't want to have to go through the medical again, not to mention the cost. I doubt I could even get an appointment before the interview date. The nearest certified doctor is a 2 hour drive for us too :(

My friend also got the same RFE even though hers wasn't expired. She got the RFE during the interview. A few days later, though, she saw that her case status changed to approved despite not having another medical exam done yet. Got her GC soon after. I think the IO realized his mistake after the interview and approved her AOS

I'm on day 99, coming from a K1 as well. Not impatient yet! :)

I guess we're more used to waiting :P

When I was around day 70 I didn't even bother checking the status of my applications.

I would check mine twice a week, but have never felt impatient. It's not because I got my interview sched incredibly fast and am no longer worried-- even if I didn't, I'd still be pretty chill right now since my K1 process took more than half a year. Filed K1 January last year and got here in August, just a month before you did. Didn't file for AOS til January because we had to use our savings to move to a new place.

But yeah, us K1 filers seem pretty chill compared to those adjusting from a different status. I don't know if B2 is generally easy to get, but B2 visa holders don't seem to be used to waiting more than 2 months. K1 was excruciating but a very good training. It made the AOS process seem like a piece of cake because now we're waiting right next to our loves! :D

I completely agree, I came on a K1 back in November. Currently waiting on AOS and I can honestly say I've been the most chilled out in a long time. I'm just happy to be here with my husband, I check the mail once a week and never check the case tracker, it's like I'm a whole new woman

K1 process turned us into very patient women! Haha!

NOT ONLY DID THE GREEN CARD GET APPROVED MONDAY BUT IT ALREADY CAME IN THE MAIL!!! Yayyy!! You guys it feels SO GOOD! I'm so glad I had all your support this whole time or this process would have been way harder!  Our interview was a full hour long 😬  But the guy was really nice and understanding when they were small discrepancies in our answers.  He did not look at a single paper that I brought  but he did ask us each to see our phones to see  what are name somewhere for each other as our contacts  and also asked us to show him pictures of us together on our phones. Finally all the stress has paid off!!

Congratulations!!! I'm next! Hopefully I get approved, too!!! So happy for you!

I am planning to do an expedite request as well. I heard those takes time too.

So idk its just a mess. If anything after 90 days im thinking to contact the congressman office as well.

Have you received your EAD yet? Looks like you case is moving fast. i see you have an interview scheduled

Yeah, submit that expedite request as soon as possible. But right now it's pretty useless to keep checking your case and calling them because they're just going to tell you the same thing they tell everyone: it's still in process.

My interview is on Apr 3, but no update on my EAD and AP since NOA1. I might've just gotten lucky with the interview thing, because I talked to 2 immigration officers on the phone when I asked if it's true that I was getting a schedule, and both of them said it was impossible since I only submitted my application in January. It was only the tech support guy who told me the correct info out of the 8 people I talked to.

  12. 12 hours ago, Laura123 said:

I call them yesterday it was my 77 day  for my EAD  and put on a SR. She said they will get back to me within 2 weeks or so. Anybody done SR?

I believe the average processing time for EAD applications is 90 days, but it has been taking longer recently. 77 days is still one month below average, so unless you submitted an expedite request, I wouldn't really be getting my hopes up. Many Nov and Dec filers are still waiting for their EAD.

It's really sad what goes on at NBC

An agency like that should have enough manpower to handle cases fast, considering how much revenue is being generated from their exorbitant fees..

The most disheartening part of it for me is the pace at which ead applications are being processed.. If as at Dec 31st they were processing ead applications of Oct, how do they explain them processing ead applications of Nov as of March 15th...

    Isn't that crazy!?

Am just gonna get my mind off till something substantial happens to me and stop getting my hopes high off other people's suggestive posts..

Idk which status you two are adjusting from, but I can tell you AOS is not as excruciating as K1. At least now I am no longer half a world away from my husband. I say enjoy all this free time you can spend with your spouse and maybe start a new hobby or learn something new. Distractions make all this waiting not so painful. I know it feels kinda bad when someone gets good news and you check your case and nada, but hang in there, stay positive and keep busy. Time will go much faster if you don't keep thinking about/checking your case. :)

I don’t understand. My lawyer is confused Cos dey didn’t mention it to her. But she will call tomorrow and find out what’s going on. Plus what did your i485 say. Mine is saying ready to be scheduled.

Have you gotten your schedule in the mail yet? I read that you can be stuck on "ready to be scheduled for interview" status for months. My cousin has had this status for almost half a year now. Still no schedule. She called a few times and they told her it can take up to a year. @.@ if you have an online account with USCIS, check when your case was last updated. Mine had an update on 2/26 but I couldn't track my case so I called. And then a tech support person told me they sent my interview schedule on that date.

  15. 20 hours ago, Julia80 said:

Hi! Oh well I’m glad it’s not just me! If both of us got that then that certainly points towards maybe the cases have been accessed and are actually being worked on. I’d rather have that than no news at all like with the K1. It was just months and months of nothing!

I have been getting this notification EVERYDAY since February. It's driving me nuts!

I think it's just an app glitch, though. If you have an online profile at the USCIS website, then you can track your case + see when it was last updated. Even though I keep getting notifications saying my EAD case status changed, on the site it says it was last touched on 01/18.

Pretty sure it isn't an official USCIS app, too, so the info on the website is more reliable than these never-ending "case status updated" notifications. :/

My husband needs a booster vaccine before our green card interview next Monday. Does anyone know if he can bring in proof he got the vaccine or does he need a whole new medical packet? Thanks!

Oh, so you were the first lucky winner in the Jan 2018 thread! I thought it was keixjil. xD I am not sure but I think you may have to have a designated civil surgeon fill out an I-693. Good luck!

Our interview is on April 3 and we are getting our papers ready as well. Let us know how yours goes.

    Hey BoredToDeath

Hang in there its tough especially the waiting game. This entire process is very frustrating but just keep focused. You can try volunteering that would get u out the house! I volunteer at the boys and girls club twice per week for a couple hrs, and I make the library my second home (I'm an avid reader) I try to fill the gaps with tv series but I must admit its not easy. I've gained almost 20lbs since I stopped working 😢 so now I'm getting bk into the habit of working out and trying to focus on that else I'm going to lose my mind.

I have gained 30lbs since I got here and it's starting to get depressing. @.@ Hopefully we get approved right after our interview on Apr 3 so I can regain my freedom. I love computer gaming and I am pretty introverted (no problem socializing, I just prefer being alone) so I haven't had major issues about being stuck at home or feeling homesick... but after seeing that I went from 120 to 150lbs in 7months, I was alarmed. Yeah I can work out at home but it bores me to tears. I need my freedom back!

Has ur status been updated online like does it say the interview is scheduled already ? Or what does the status say online ? Just wondering trying to correlate with mine haha

I have been unable to track my case since they updated it, that's why I called them and that's how I found out I was going to receive a letter. Well, sort of. I spoke to 3 tier 2 officers and the first one said I was going to receive a request for interview, while the other 2 said no you're not because that's impossible.

Here's a little bit about what happened with my case:

For some reason, I am no longer able to track my AOS case. On the app, it says "case not found in USCIS" and on the USCIS site, it gives me a "user-defined" error message. When I check through my USCIS account, I can see the case was last updated on Feb 26, but when I click the case number, there's no status.

Does anybody know what's going on? Anyone experiencing the same? It's just for the I-485. I can still track my EAD and AP applications. I'll try calling later to see what's up. So worried.

SoI called USCIS and was transferred to a tier 2 rep who told me to contact the webmaster online to fix the tracking error. He told me the current status of the I-485, and he said that they sent a request for interview letter yesterday. Is this supposed to be the interview schedule? If so, that's so much faster than I expected. I haven't even heard anything about my EAD and AP yet. They don't send letters saying ready for interview, right? It's just a status if I'm not mistaken, and then they'll send a letter with the interview sched?

If you go back to pages 54-55, you'll see the rest of my posts about it.

Really regarding interview it depends on your field office. Mine is Denver and according to USCIS they were as of December 31, 2017 working on December 21, 2016 and so on. I also saw that some January 2017 Denver filers just had interviews in the last few weeks. So for me the expectation of an interview is January of 2018 or after most likely. If I get one before I will dance. lol

As for EAD as of December 31, 2017 they were working on October 2017 filers and we know that Novembers and early Decembers are getting theirs so maybe in a month or longer for us. Again things can happen quicker or later. Really no rhyme or reason to the way they do things at USCIS. lol

I think you meant January 2019. :P but yeah it does mainly depend on the field office. However, we can't deny the fact that luck also plays a role in this immigration circus. :D

Anybody has any news in regards to EAD or interview?

    Anybody received their EAD yet?

1 month and 3 days after bio metrics havent heard anything..

    Thanks!

A lot of 2017 filers still don't have an interview schedule, so don't worry about it. People normally get their interview schedule around 5+ months from the filing date, so me getting that interview letter is a rare case. Pure luck, I would say.

As for EAD, we're all still waiting. 1 month from your bio is still early tbh, but there's a good chance that some of us will get an approval this month. Hang in there, miss!

Woot woot congrats, 2nd lucky winner of the thread of I remember well, you are giving us hope :)

@keixjil I believe was the first one to get the "case is ready to be scheduled for interview" status, but I'm not sure if s/he has received their schedule.

I, on the other hand, never got this status as I have been unable to track my case ever since they updated it on 2/27 and sent me the interview schedule letter. It has and I think it will keep giving me the "user-defined error" message because after talking to three tier 2 officers, all I got was "this is a known issue and we are working on a new site to fix this". But yeah, I am assuming my status right now says ready for interview or something.
