Hello everyone! March filer here.. I just want to know if anybody here got the same problem with ours.. We already have our NOA2.. I called the NVC yesterday for my case number, they couldn't give it to me since the date of birth did not match. :(( they are asking me to email them a copy of my birth certificate and passport, I already did that right away.. Now, I want to know if someone has encountered the same case with me? How did it take until you get an update? Did you still get a hardcopy of the NVC letter containing the NVC number? Please help me. :(( It's so frustrating already..

If I remember correctly, @SkruDe had the same issue before.

When do you get the results? sounds like you are good to go...hoping you can finalize your journey

The lady from room N said in 2-3 days but that I should try calling her today because it's possible that the results are in already. I really hope I am good to go, and I hope this doesn't get brought up in the interview.

I hope Juvy also gets cleared soon! I know you gotta wait til the end of August but time is going to fly by, I promise. You already waited half a year, 2 more months is nothing. Good luck!

  3. I went to my psychological evaluation today, and boy, was that a weird experience.

The shrink talked to me for about ten minutes only. He asked basic info about me and my partner at first, and then asked me when, why and how I cut myself. He kept interrupting me, though, to say "you should say this instead". So basically, it was more of a coaching session than anything else... He was telling me what to say in case it gets brought up during the interview...

It truly was an odd feeling sitting there listening to him tell me what to say as that was not what I expected at all. But I guess that is good, though? I guess I should be relieved since it seems like he's going to clear me. After all, he already taught me what to say during the interview.

Honestly I don't think the Chilean embassy would be THAT busy especially since they are a country part of the ESTÁ visa waiver program.

Yeah but it seems the only way to contact this embassy is through email. They don't answer the phone and I have yet to find out if there is an online calendar system.

Make sure to check the scheduling page everyday to see if someone canceled. That's what I did when I rescheduled my interview to next week... I checked 3 times each day til I finally got lucky! :D

    Hey there,

Wish everyone a nice start in the week tmrw :)

I wouldn't be surprised ... My interview was on June 7th and I still haven't received it :(

    Is everyone affected by this?

  6. I just rescheduled my interview to July 12 at 6:40 am (from July 20 at 7:10 am) since my fiance wants me to go to the US on July 30. I have my psych evaluation on July 5... Hopefully, I can get the results by July 10 and get vaccinated the same day. I can't afford anymore delays. Need luck on my side. Hooh, getting super close!

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend! To those still waiting for updates, hang in there! I wish you all the best. :)

Now I wish I could give you a hug or meet you once we're in the US even though we will be in different states! Thank you for your kind words. You and @PR&PR really put a smile in my face.

I tried to forgive my mom but she is the most selfish person in the world. Don't want to tell my story here but at least she will be at my wedding and act like a mom for one day, not like my dad who is just ignoring the fact that I am getting married like the rest of his side of the family and won't take me to the altar. The best F*** you I can give them is to let them see how happy I will be with my new family and with all the love they have for me and I have for them.

I wish you all the best luck for the rest of the journey but I am sure we will keep each other posted :) lots of love to you.

Btw is you name really Hazel? I am 21 and way too young to have kids now but Michael and I talked about this subject one day and we want to name our daughter Hazel in 5 or 10 or 15 years when we have one haha no kidding.

Awww, you're so sweet! Would be lovely to meet someday. After all, we share the same NOA2 date. Haha!

I feel you so much. My dad died when I was 7 so there won't be any daddy arms to hang on to while he walks me to my groom. :/ My stepdad never tried to treat us like his own, so you and I aren't too different. We're lucky we found ourselves the man of our dreams, though! :)

And yes, my name is Hazel. I quite like this name. Pretty unique. And how funny, I keep telling my fiance I would want our little girl to be named Helena or Hannah. :P

Aww yea I understand that She wants you to be there but I live at my moms since I got back from Miami last year and we never had a good relationship. And my dad didn't said a word to my engagement and lives a happy life with his new family. So I've no one to say goodbye to and that's okay.

Yea everyone says that but they denied my student visa last year because I told them that my fiancé is my bank sponsor haha we were so stupid. Our lawyer said it's good that I didn't try to hide anything and told them that I'm engaged. We seriously didn't try to get me to US on a wrong visa. The people form college said that a lot students getting married and change their status and that it wouldn't be an issue and we didn't know that we have to apply for a K1.

So I hope our stupidness won't ruin our chance of having a life together.

I truly wish I could give you a hug, Hannah! :/ I had a bad relationship with my mother but I tried my best to forgive her for the things she did before, so now, I guess you can say we have an okay relationship. Anyway, you are about to move to the US and start a new life with your man, and you'll get lots of love! You may not have anyone dear to say goodbye to, but what's more important is that soon, you will have the love of your life to say hello to when you come running into his arms at the airport. :)

I understand your history worries you. I mean, aren't we all worried about something? We all want to be with our love and don't want to screw anything up. Just make it clear during your interview that your purpose is solely to marry your fiance, nothing else. If they ask you if you plan to work or study, tell them you have no other plans right now other than getting married. I'm sure you already know this, though. :) I believe in you, Hannah! You'll get approved!

  9. 1 hour ago, Hannah96 said:

Thank you! First of all I hope they'll approve my visa 😩 And then the second I get the passport with the visa back  I'll book a flight for the next day and I'll be gone and live a happy life with my then husband! So yea .. hopefully August haha

Whoa! Hahaha damn, next day?! I wish I could do the same but my mother won't allow me to leave til a week or two after her birthday (end of July), which means I'll probably leave around the 2nd week of August. But hey, I have no doubt that you will be approved, girl! :) Just a few more weeks!!!

Oh dear god, just waiting for my loving bride to be to have her sputum tests next week

hoping for the best but regardless of results we have a plan. If she tests negative we wait for the 2 month culture and hopefully we move forward in September. If positive, well we deal with it and I book a flight in October to see my love again as she goes through the treatment

Dear god, so much waiting but most important is that my love is safe, happy, and healthy

I know in my heart I will wait for this girl and regardless of outcome I see her soon

    whats not to like

Good luck to all that have medical and interviews soon

I'm really sorry about this. :(

I was there on Friday and I was surprised to see so many people doing the sputum test. Before medical, I was worried about getting sent to psych eval, but when I saw those people and realized how much of a hassle and a delay that will cause, I panicked on the inside. The entire day, I and the other hopefuls were crossing our fingers, hoping our X-ray results are clear.

I was one of the lucky ones. What a relief! But I truly, truly feel for the ones who have to go there everyday to do the sputum test/get treated. I wish all the best for Juvy! I hope she tests negative! You've been waiting too long!

Hang in there and keep us posted.

do i need to wait for nvc READY statis bedore i schedule interview? or i can go interview without saying ready status

-You can fill out the ds160 when you have the case number, even if your case isn't ready yet. BUT, you can only submit it once your case is ready.

-You may schedule your interview when your case is ready, but only AFTER you have paid the visa fee.

-You CANNOT go to the interview if your case is not ready. Remember, you have to pay first, then schedule interview, then complete medical and get the results.

I have answered this via our private chat. There's also a bunch of helpful sites that will guide you in the next steps. Please take the time to read through them and our private conversations as well to avoid asking the same questions multiples times on this thread. Thanks and good luck!

Oh yeah I definitely understands it s*** to have to go again! My question was tailored at why in the Philippines people have to go again a lot. While for other countries it seems that the medical is one day and that's it. It seems like it is kind of 50/50 that people have to return in the Philippines, but I have not heard of that anywhere else :o

Haha! I edited my response and the reason I added answers your question.

If you live in the Philippines, you know that queues are always long and people take forever to get processed. This is why people who want to finish early line up very early... Like at 2 in the morning... Or even at midnight... :P I was there at 3 but I didn't get to leave until 10 hours later, and I am still not finished.

Also, based on xray results, many people are asked to do the sputum test, so they have to come back for 3 consecutive days to do it and then come back again for the results after a few weeks, I think. Other people are referred to different places like in my case, psych for a personality eval due to my self harm scars. Someone from this forum said his fiance was referred to derma. A friend of mine was asked to see an eye doctor. They're pretty strict here because this is a third world country, I guess. Tuberculosis is a big no no, so many people are asked to do the sputum test even if they don't have the disease. Just the slightest hint of a possible TB infection from the xray will delay someone's application by two months. +6 months if they test positive.

So why is it a big deal in the Philippines to complete the medical in one day? I mean in all other countries no one ask that question, I was never told it could take more than one day. Why is it different?

I don't know what other people's reasons are, but the medical place is more than 2 hours away from where I live, and I was in line at 3 am yesterday. :/

Everyone living in Metro Manila knows that the part of Manila where the clinic is is full of bad people. Yesterday, some dude kept stalking me saying I should give him a lot of money because I am marrying an American (He assumed this because he saw me walk out of the clinic. This clinic is for people going abroad). I was ignoring him but he was really scary because he wasn't begging. He was insisting, and the tone of his voice was threatening. I was afraid he would attack me. Luckily, I found a security guard nearby and walked up to him. The creep disappeared. Take note, this is in the middle of the day and the streets were busy, but the baddies in this area don't care.

Also, since it is far, the travel cost is not wallet-friendly. I am not rich and neither is my fiance. We want to save as much money as we can so I was really hoping I wouldn't have to go back there anymore.

And lastly, everyone living in the Philippines knows that queues are always long and people take forever to get processed. I was there for 10 hours.

So yeah, these are my reasons. May not be a big deal to everyone but it was of slight importance to me. Unfortunately, I will have to go back two more times for the psych evaluation and the results.

  14. Going home now. It's a pretty good day. Got scheduled for psych eval on July 5 (not too bad since my interview won't be until the 20th), but I feel confident. It's just an interview and if (when!!! :P) the doc sees that I am mentally and emotionally stable, I'll be able to get my results and vaccines after 3 days.

This is just a small bump in the road. The most important thing is that my xray results are clear. No sputum test for me! Whew!

Good luck everyone! Have a great weekend!

Hi guys!  Is it true that NVC  case number will take up to 6weeks?

our NOA 2 was May 31 2017. I just called NVC and they still dont have my CN. 😢

Not "will", but "may". We got our case number 2 weeks after noa2, and case status was ready 3 days later. I noticed that it's fast in some countries and a bit slow in some. Most people in Canada said theirs took more than 3 weeks.
