  1. Has anyone had to request a copy of the immunization record completed during the medical exam before the K1 interview?  It seems that in Algiers it is not common practice for the doctor to give a copy of the ds3025 to the patient for their records.  Wanting to send this with I485 and will email the clinic asking for a copy.  If we don't get a response from the clinic, we will try the consulate next.  Has anyone been successful with this? Or have other applicants been given the ds3025 at the time of the interview?

  2. I think they mostly want the sealed packet so there is no possible way for anyone to tamper with the medical records.  Your medical records are protected by U.S Federal law to be kept private from anyone other than your doctor or immigration officials related to your case.  For example if a police officer approached you during a layover, if they opened your packet without your permission, you will be protected by U.S. Federal Law to not be discriminated against due to what your medical file contains.  Here in the U.S. We have special laws that protect our privacy when it comes to medical information.  For example, an employer can not ask if you have any diseases. You can learn more by googling HIPPA Laws.

no, there was no imam or a religious leader at the ceremony , just me and my fiancee and my parents and brother and sister and my aunt, we dress traditionally and we made some pictures where we did henna and we reput rings on each others fingers.

I did not propose here in front of my parents or in our house, but I took her to a nice romatic place I proposed she said yes I put  the ring in here finger , she did as well, the next day she wanted to see how enagement party are held in my country. we had dinner with family,we let them know about our engagement, and after dinner we had cake and we dress traditionnaly, and we enjoyed.

so based on that how could a CO suspect us.?

I have heard of people getting refused in some other African countries due to this type of engagement party.  But I have also heard others getting approved.  My advice would be to have your fiancée make some wedding plans and for you to print copies of proof that you are excited for the wedding in the U.S.  Have her email some locations asking about reserving a day.  Maybe do some shopping for another ring for her,  just as proof that you definitely are not married.  Really try to show proof that the wedding is being planned by making reservations that you can show the CO.  Even if you are just planning a courthouse wedding, make plans for other places as well, then cancel after the interview.  Women are good at wedding planning so see if your fiancée has some ideas.

In the instruction package for K-1 applicants it says "You should NOT schedule the interview appointment until you have received an instruction letter from the U.S. Consulate and have submitted the confirmation page of the DS-160, visa photos, and a copy of passport for each applicant to our office at the above address. Failure to do so may delay your visa processing."

Does anyone know how long we must wait for this letter. We are in Ho Chi Minh City and we've submitted information they asked for.

    Thank you

We are also waiting for the email/letter.  Online status of "READY" is dated 7/23.  Hope it is not a long wait. We have not submitted any info yet, and will call next week to check on it if we have not received letter (Packet3/4).

This is not just a Muslim occurance - it happens to ppl from all faiths.

Islam is the official religion in Algeria, the country where this interview will be taking place.  I was answering their case specifically, but yes, other ceremonies of commitment can get you a refusal as well.

I am really confused even more by answers here.

so is it wrong we did an engagement party, yes we did put rings on each other fingers and we had a cake for the party where an announcement was written in both languages arabic and english (happy enagement) and the tradition implies in mycountry we do it like this. so is behaving accourding to tradition and customs make CO suspicious?

we did sent pictures of us and party with I-129 and we got RFE of having met  during teh 2 years and we sent back other pictures.

in my country marriage is announced and registered there is no such a thing official or unofficial marriage.

i do not know what to o the embasy way of thinking.

The consulate officers are trained to look for signs of Nikah marriages hidden as an engagement party.  They are aware that some religious ceremonies can join the couple in marriage even without a certificate. If there was no imam present at your party, then you have nothing to hide. Hope this helps.

no for th ecountry of Algeria there is no billing online, you have to open account with ustraveldocs and creat a profile and then print the slip receipt and take it to Aramax where you will be paying the visa fees, after 24 hours your account with be allowed to schedule an appointement.

did you get the letter from the embassy? they will be explaining you how to proceed.

    best luck

Thanks, we are in transit from NVC now waiting for email from embassy.  Good luck with your interview!

  8. NOTE: Tip Regarding Vaccination Records

The K-1/2 beneficiary will be required by the embassy to have a "medical" done prior to the visa interview. Part of this interview will require that previous vaccinations are documented and potentially additional required vaccinations performed. Once this is complete the doctor will note this on a DS-3025 form that will be sent to the embassy. During the medical appointment request an official copy of the vaccination records from the physician (or a copy of the completed DS-3025 if they will give it to you) as this will be helpful to have on hand in the future (specifically it can be helpful when filing for Adjustment of Status if your DS-3025 form is not available).

Did you check your uscis tracker? Did it say approve already there? Or still received? Congratulations by the way😊

It is saying received, no updates online.  However yesterday I checked my estimated date to be adjudicated on my timeline and it was June 28- July 5.  Ours was approved 4 days prior to the estimate. I hope that is the trend for everyone waiting.

  10. Hey filers did you know that divorce does not end the obligation of sponsorship?  I know we are all beginning this process of filing our I-134 forms (petitioners) and this was something I had not considered until now.  Not trying to ruin our happy times, just wanted to inform anyone who does not read all the fine print, or who may have missed it.  In other words, if you are married to your spouse and they file for divorce before they are considered a citizen, then you as the sponsor may be responsible for alimony.  Good luck to everyone with this next step and may we all be blessed with long happy marriages!

  11. If you have a laptop you can go to the messages page and there is a way to search for specific words typed in a conversation.  This can not be done on the mobile version of FB.  I did a search on google of how to do this, I don't remember the specific steps of how to find this search bar.  But once I got there I typed in Skype or Video and it gives you a list of the conversations that you used this specific word, allowing me to print out the proof.  Good luck!
