SabRob got a reaction from NBA16 in NVC - May 2017 Scan Dates - Method 4: Mail processing
Status changed to At NVC today and I confirmed CC with the the NVC!
SD: 05/17, CC: 07/21
Are there any other fees that need to be paid before the interview (not the medical fee) like an immigrant fee or something that you pay at the embassy?

You can pay it after as well. You will only receive your GC after paying the fee which is, btw, $220 as of December 2016. Here is a very informative handout https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/F4en.pdf

SabRob got a reaction from JBMG in NVC - July 2017 Scan Dates - Method 4: Mail processing
Hi! The only way to speed things up is to expedite your case which can be done if you have a medical reason or if you/your spouse are military pending deployment. You'll need to gather proof of that and send it to the NVC via email.
Also please add yourself to our spreadsheet, it's a great tool to kinda see what scan dates the NVC is currently working on and how long it took for people from your country to get their CCs.
Fill in this form to add yourself.

YAY!!! Seems like it's been forever but it happened just a bit over 9 weeks!! BIG Congrats!!! You've always been so encouraging, supporting others with their CC's and providing feedback. Really happy to see you finally got yours, and avoided a checklist!!! So now you're just waiting for your interview date, perfect timing as they should start releasing September dates next week!!!
Thank you for already updating the spreadsheet.. And for your continuous support in encouraging others to update it. Appreciate it.
Meanwhile, you can head over to the following forum, joining others who are waiting for an interview date and preparing for their interviews. Please read the first post, very informative info in there. See you there.
Case Complete to Interview August 2017
No fees besides the medical or preparing for the medical. Meanwhile, you can reach out to your medical doctor, request for info. The immigrant fee is after the visa approval and we'll get those instructions with the visa approval.

SabRob got a reaction from RamStu in Transfer of file
No, you cannot request a transfer. Sometimes, files will be transferred from a more backlogged service center to another to speed up processing times. This happened to our case back in March when it was transferred from Nebraska to Texas.

I also called yesterday.. because last week they told me I had a strange second scan date in late June. Still don't really know what caused the second scan (rep..suspects same worker who did my husband's corrected name change maybe opened the file to verify the name was corrected). Anyway, the lady looked and said "well I can't explain the late scan, but I can give u a little helpful news. The late scan didn't delay you an additional 11 weeks because I am seeing your file went to review dept. on July 12th" i was in shock. I called back a second time and a different guy also confirmed we are in review dept. But he couldnt give me any details as to how long that takes.
Congrats to you 😀 I feel your anxiety lol. I am also wanting Monday to hurry and get here😁 come on "at nvc" for both of us😀

You have to call them before at least 48 hours before your departure to let them know you are bringing a pet (it's better if you call right after you book the flight), though, because they restrict the number of pets per aircraft and they usually go by a first come first served basis. I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's really easy to find a flight on a different kind of aircraft, just look at the details when booking a flight Good luck with your husband's interview and hope you get it all sorted out!

Diapers are really convenient but my doggie does not tolerate them at all! He will do anything in his power to take it off.

Awww!! That's too bad they don't accept pets from the UK. Try KLM, they are very pet friendly and they allow pets on transatlantic flights.

SabRob got a reaction from duthraki in U.S. citizen filing for a spouse
You're very welcome. I mean 7 months from NOA1 to NOA2. There's really no way of checking, you can use the official USCIS processing times as a guideline but they're not always accurate and don't apply to all cases. Some cases get processed faster than others, it depends on which country your spouse is from and whether you get stuck in background checks or not. (some people do and it delays their case significantly)

Yep, I looked it up, $1700 for a one way ticket, $600 for a round trip.

You sure can but you might wanna wait until after you have it, just in case you get stuck in Administrative Processing or something. Better safe than sorry!
Also, it doesn't matter what kind of ticket you buy, two way is way cheaper, so you can totally buy one of those.

You CAN take over $10k into the US, you just have to declare it. Have paperwork handy - bank statements or whatnot and you won't have any issues, it's not a big deal.

SabRob got a reaction from cleon86 in NVC Filers - July 2017
I've seen it on the NVC 2017 spreadsheet as well, some cases go into review early and it takes a little longer to get a cc. Hang in there, fingers and toes crossed you don't get a checklist!
