I did my address update online last February but i only changed from apartment # we live in the same complex. I received an email from USCIS like 3 days saying that my address was successfully updated it. I think you should call explain that you moved and you want to makd sure your address is updated ii and ask about your interview.

Thank you. I was asking because I don't like calling places. haha And since they have the online option, I think it shouldn't be necessary to call. I'll see what I do.

  2. Hi guys,

So, I moved from AZ to NC and sent an online request to change my address on June 6th. On June 14th, I received an email from the case status website - apparently my SR moved things up - with an update (finally) saying "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview"... but on the my.uscis.gov I just got an update this morning saying that "We canceled your interview". Is the latter just an error?

Also, I only sent the request to update my address online. I didn't call or sent the form. It should be enough, shouldn't it?

EDIT: I've attached the case history.

Refugees do that. I know someone who hired an attorney in NY but lives in FL. Then, her biometrics appointment was set in NY. The I-693 letter was also sent to NY. This person ended up doing a change of address because she is in a city in FL that has faster processing times. However, the same should apply if I hire an attorney, say in Cleveland, OH or Portland, ME. I will know tomorrow. I am calling a couple of places tomorrow. I shall report back. :)

Cool! Please tag me here or send me a PM to let me know!

Well, it's anticlimactic, isn't it? It will sit there until the Minneapolis Field Office gets to my case. But wait, they might decide to serve additional states in addition to North Dakota, South Dakota, & 1/2 of Wisconsin. I was told that if you retain an attorney elsewhere and set your attorney's office as your safe address, then your interview will be at the field office that services that area. So I am working on that right now

I think they should have a checkbox that says "I am willing to travel to other field offices for my adjustment of status interview". That would certainly keep the line going.

Interesting! Are you sure about that?

So, my office, Phoenix, is in 79th place... "awesome." It makes sense, since I filed my AOS on April, 2017.

One positive side of it is that I saw a person that filed from Oakland Park, Fl, and it took her 16 months to get an interview letter. So in her case it was pretty accurate.

I couldn't edit it anymore, but I want to add: it could mean my interview letter can come in the next couple months!

I compiled the list on an Excel sheet. It's sorted by the first number of the two in the time range. (50%)

    Here you go.

I dont think that would be an option at all. Immigration in all aspects isnt something only based on criminal records. Imagine how many fake marriages, people with bad intentions (not that we dont have that already) and all of that coming to the country.

Honestly if we think about all the security issues, not only that but economy, population we would give USCIS credit for their job.

I see what you mean, but I assumed that if you've never committed a crime you are less likely to have "bad intentions" and do fake marriages.

hey guys, i know this may be a silly question. I just want to make sure i'm understanding the posted processing times correctly.

Question: So for Orlando office, it says they're processing applications between 7.5 months to 16.5 months but there is a time range posted below that says Processing time for Family based applications will be between 12.5 months to 22months? So I'm assuming since i'm family based application, i won't hear anything until after my October file date correct?

Yes, the family-based one will take from 12.5 (50% accuracy) to 22 (90% accuracy) months. That's what their system says, but many people's cases seem to be going even faster than the minimal time given for their local office. (In your case here, 12.5 months).

Slightly informative post on Reddit about USCIS processing times and why they're so long

The main thing I got from this is that USCIS has very little employees (less than 17,000 people processing millions of applications). How is that even possible!?

Solution: if you have not committed any crimes anywhere, just approve it. haha No interviews necessary.

I'm surprised they let you raise an SR on the 485. Now that they've updated the way they show processing times, it looks like everything is "in date" and "normal" if you've been waiting 1-2 years :/

Maybe it's because I've raised that unanswered one in Feb, which allowed me to raised this last one in March?

Try to raise one and let me know!

  11. I've just received this answer today about a SR I made on March 19th:

"The status of this service request is:

USCIS systems indicate that your case is awaiting an interview. You should be receiving this appointment notification from your local Field Office once they are able to schedule the appointment. If you need to expedite your case, you may contact your local USCIS Field Office."

I did other SRs before and the answer was always "we are reviewing your case", the interview was never mentioned. Do you think this is progress or just another generic message?
