SSN if you don't get within 2 weeks go to a local SSA office to get it.

Green card normally doesn't show up for 1-6 months.  Did you pay the $220 immigrant fee online?

So i can’t work yet until i get the green card because i already got a job and i am supposed to start working next Week !!

i did pay before i even came here

  2. Thank you for the responses.  Yes, I can send my husband a copy of everything that was filed with the IRS, and I was hoping that would suffice.  I submitted the AOS and he will have a copy for the interview, and he will have the 2017 w2, so hopefully with a copy of everything I mail, I’m thinking that it will be okay.  I actually was considering filing married filling separately, but that still requires a written filing.  MFJ is giving me a couple thousand off my tax bill, so I wanted to pursue that, but I just didn’t want to cause any unnecessary delay.  Thanks again for the advice.

  3. My Husband’s interview is approaching, and I have not filed my 2017 taxes yet, which I feel they will ask for at the embassy interview.  We have prepared to apply for an ITIN number, but I am concerned that it will take too long and he will have to wait until the IRS finishing processing my taxes. For people who are filing taxes and have a spousal visa interview soon, what status did you file under? Also, when he goes for the interview, would a copy of the tax forms I file be sufficient.  I’m afraid by the time of the interview that I will have only mailed the tax return, but had no correspondence from the IRS.  Also, this will be my first time to not file electronically, so I really am confused on what to expect.  I would be grateful for any advice or experience in this matter.

Ok great! I used to post it note too, table of content and binders, but I didn't number the pages. I just put everything in the envelope and mail it.

For persons getting CC in less than 5 weeks, can you say if you scan your documents online or you sent my mail?

    Thanks

We didn’t have the option to scan, so our packet was mailed.  The cover sheet was placed first, but behind that, we included a table of contents with each having page numbers.  Everything was labels with a bright post it note, and we used binder clicks to attach relevant papers.  Our packet was about 200 pages, including everything, but it was very well organized.

  6. I called the NVC, and they confirmed that our case has been completed there and now they are just waiting for the consulate to schedule the interview. I called the NVC again this morning, and nothing has happened.  Should I email the embassy or just wait until I hear from the NVC?  Is there anything we can do to get the date for the interview set faster?  Thanks for any advice/ information.
