  1. You will have a bit of control over your timeline as well.  If you are in no hurry you can schedule your medical and interview a bit later as well.  Then you have the 6 months from the approval to move over.  Our interview is scheduled for 5.5 months after the date that we sent the packet.  That seems to be the norm for processing times right now :) Good luck to you both!

Ya it's generally a pretty good guideline. However, every case is unique and some people end up waiting a lot longer.

On a side note any December Filers get their NVC number yet? I got my approval April 17th, so still waiting for NVC to receive my stuff.

We filed on Dec 21 and got our NOA2 on April 4.  We got our NVC case number on April 24 and it changed to "ready" today.  We got our medical scheduled for May 22 and interview scheduled for June 1.  Things have been moving so much faster since the case left USCIS!  Good luck to you guys.  Start calling on Monday to see if they have your case number :)

  5. We got my fiancé all scheduled for his medical and interview.  Medical is May 22 and the interview is June 1!!  So excited that we are coming to the end. :)

Just wanted to say "Thank You" to all of you that have given advice and answered questions!  This forum has been a HUGE help through this process and I really appreciate each and every one of you!!

    Hello guys !

I guess the CEAC website doesn't work today !?

is it the same with you ? I am trying to check my case status and it doesn't really open it for me , I don't know why !?

Another question regarding the letter of intent to marry for my interview:

is it necessary to put the address of the Foriegn fiancé's US embassy address on the letter of intent to marry for the beneficiary's interview ????

I am having the same issue.  It seems like its been down all morning.  Hopefully it comes back up soon!

I did put the foreign fiancé's US Embassy address on my updated letter of intent.  I am not sure if this is correct or not but it made sense to me to address it to them.

  7. My fiancé and I got our case number on Monday morning from the NVC.  He called yesterday and booked his medical for closer to the end of May.  Our packet is in transit to London (from the tracking I have seen it arrived today).  We are hoping to schedule the interview by early next week for the week after the medical.  He had no issues booking his medical.  They just asked him for his case number and when he wanted to come in.  They were very helpful for him.

Also, I know every country is different but I went on to look at the page to schedule the interview for London and it asked for your medical appointment date when booking the interview so I am assuming that you have to book the medical first.  I could be completely wrong in saying this but that is just what I got out of it.

The police certificate was pretty quick as well.  We applied for that about a month ago and it came in about a week and a half.  Good luck to you!  Hope everything goes smoothly for you!

I'm in the same boat. NOA2 date of April 6, and NVC still hasn't received our case. I keep getting the "it could take up to 6 weeks", but I know (primarily due to everyone's timelines here) that it could take less. But now it's been 13 business days, and it's getting a little tiresome.

Which number are you calling?  Our NOA2 was April 4.  I called yesterday and got our case number.  They said they received it on Friday.  I called the 0700 number as I found they are more helpful and more patient on that line.  Keep calling.  Hopefully you will get your case number soon!

If you really want to do it ,don't see why not,  but it takes only few minutes . Right now or later dos not makes any difference ,you will not save any time by doing it now . If you want to save time try to get police report and medical done , some places takes long time to do so . Good luck , all will come together very sun .

Thanks!  We mainly wanted to submit it just to have it done.  We have the police report and will be calling tomorrow to hopefully schedule the medical.  I feel like we are finally getting to the light at the end of the tunnel but there is still so much to do and organize before we get there! haha.  Thanks you for the advice!

  10. Good morning all.  I have a question I am hoping someone can answer that has been through this.  We received our London case number this morning from the NVC (yay!).  Do we need to wait until the case gets to London to submit our DS-160 or can we go ahead and submit it now?  I know we can not schedule the interview until it reaches London and says ready but was hoping we could go ahead and get the DS-160 taken care of.  Any advice is greatly appreciated!

We are going to take your word/experience on this and hope all goes smoothly this Friday.  We did print out the DS-160 confirmation (which has name, dob, passport# and case #, as well as the confirmation/receipt email that shows he paid the fees, set up the carrier and his appointment date, etc. on it.

The only thing weighing upon his mind now is, last year he thought he had a appendicitis; but it turned out to be diverticulitis.  He was treated and sent home, and to follow up if any other complications arose (after the colonoscopy and the initial follow up).  He's wondering if they would deny his medical for having diverticulitis - I've been trying to reassure him that its a "normal" sign/symptom of aging.  Age 40 - 5% population has it, by the age of 60 - 25% has it; but he will worry about it until the medial exam is over with :)

Thank you for helping and reassuring us and sharing your experience!

Good luck with the medical.  Please let us know how it pans out.  I will be curious to see if the confirmation page is enough as we will be scheduling the medical for my fiancé soon and would love to know a little more on what to expect!  Good luck again and hope for a quick and smooth approval for you guys!

It actually doesn't matter. I called both numbers alternatively; your case can be accessed by employees answering either line. I was told by a lady on the non-immigrant line that my case had arrived there, but there was no case-# yet, and on the following day, I called the immigrant line, where I was given my case-#. I even asked if it was okay to call either line for K1, and they said yes.

Thank you.  That is good to know.  :)  I will probably do the same.  They have been pleasant so far which is good.  I can only imagine how many calls they get every day asking the same question. lol.

I don't know specifically for a K-1 but the USCIS -> NVC transfer for our CR-1/IR-1 took about 3 or 4 weeks if I recall. If you call you definitely get the case number long before you get the "packet" in the mail. For our CR-1 we were essentially mailing in all of our documents by the time the "welcome packet" arrived.

Thank you.  That is good to know.  We want to move things along as quickly and smoothly as possible.  Hoping to have him here by end of June.  Fingers crossed!  :)

You can check out my signature for how long the process was! Yes, you can submit the DS-160 as soon as you have the LND case number from the NVC. You can also schedule the medical as soon as you have the LND case number; we scheduled ours for two weeks out from the exact day we got the LND case number and everything was fine. You can't schedule the interview appointment until several days after the CEAC status says "ready"; you'll just keep having to go through the sign-up page for the interviews and eventually one day it will let you actually advance to the screen where you can select your interview time and date. At that time, you also pay the $265 visa fee (you must pay it when you are signing up for the interview, otherwise the website won't let you actually sign up for an interview appointment). Good luck! It was so quick - we got our NOA-2 Feb 7th, interview was March 30, visa arrived April 6th!

Thanks!  So you don't have to pay the $265 when you file the DS-160?  That is something I did not know.  We are ready to get everything rolling.  Just need the LND number.  Sounds like London seems to be pretty quick overall which is great news!  Congrats to you guys on completing the process!!

  16. We got our approval 2 weeks ago today.  Just waiting for our NVC case number now.  Fingers crossed for a quick process!  I called yesterday and they didn't have it yet (as expected).  I figure I will give them a break today and try again tomorrow. haha.  How long was it for you all that have been through the process to get your case number from NVC.  Also, once it is sent to London, can we go ahead and file the DS-160 and call to make the medical and interview appointments once it says "Ready" or do we have to wait for the physical copy from the embassy?

    Thanks in advance!!

Hi, everybody. My fiancé and I got our Noa1 on November 3rd and so far nothing. Accordingly to the database list, they haven't even touched our petition yet. Is anyone here still waiting for the NOA2?

    It's been 153days of endless waiting. 😖

I do believe that @llaz has the same date as you and is still waiting as well.  I hate to see anyone having to wait that long.  Fingers crossed that they finish the November petitions soon!
