Well this is a bittersweet moment, my EAD arrived today but despite me sending off for AP at the same time, my card does not have that included (says at the bottom 'not valid for reentry to US'). Unless I am mistaken there is not much I can do about that, so I assume I'll have to wait until I receive my GC. Annoying as I was hoping to travel but a good thing that we didn't book anything yet I suppose. Still, a day to celebrate!

Carrying on from this I just spoke to a Tier 2 officer and he said there's no record of me ever filing for an AP, and since it was so long ago he said my original application could be anywhere, so the only option for me is to file for AP again with a copy of my I-485 receipt so I don't have to pay the fee again <_< Frustrating but there's nothing else I can do, so I guess I can either do that or wait for my interview and see where it goes from there -_-

  4. Not sure if someone is working on Sundays or what, but earlier today I received my email saying my EAD card is in production, woohoo!! The only thing bothering me is I never received any notification as to whether my AP was being worked on, I only received things about my EAD and I-485, so I'm hoping the card will have both on it, otherwise I'm not sure what to do about that (aside from just waiting for the GC of course <_< ) Overall, I'm still very happy though, 167 days since filing.

Still not updated on the dhs website, so I assume there won't be anything til tomorrow?

    Hey guys!

What dates are currently being processed? Are we looking at mid-January right now? I'm Jan 30th so I feel so close yet so far!!

Hi, I know the feeling, I filed around the same time as you, but it should be soon! I've seen approvals from January and some from Feb and beyond but there are still people waiting from December and further back, I think it mostly depends on where you filed, fingers crossed it'll be any day now!!

She actually took a picture of the no phones sign. Here is the actual sign that she photographed on the day: https://photos.app.goo.gl/fFRp4RQxV0mZEroD2

I guess it is possible that they just added it, but it's definitely there, as of July 20th 2017.

Regarding them not checking everything, sounds like they ripped you off and that you didn't get your £300 worth! :D

Huh, well I guess the proof is in the pudding there!! (I'm assuming she took that with a camera, as otherwise that'd be quite ironic :jest:

And I agree!! I have half a mind to storm back there and demand the full examination

    Thanks for your feedback.

I would suggest not being concerned if it's something that didn't happen to you. You are past it now, right?

I think it's reasonable to assume that they treat each medical different on a case by case basis (because of differences in medical history/conditions). For example, she had spinal surgery years ago which necessitated the hammer reflex test. This was her review. The value is not found in one review, but when you add all reviews together to get an idea of the many possible things that might happen.

Regarding the phone, people ignore signs, but the fact remains, that signs are posted. If you chose to ignore them, that's your choice. She was just making people who generally follow rules aware.

Regarding the underwear part, it's clearly written on the Knightsbridge website that external genitalia is examined, so nothing concerning to us: http://www.visamedicals.info/us-examination.asp

"All applicants will have a full medical examination with one of the Embassy's appointed doctors. The examination consists,at a minimum,of a physical examination of eyes, ears, nose, throat, extremities, heart, lungs, abdomen, lymph nodes, skin and external genitalia."

That is correct. As to the phone, I am of the kind that always follows those kinds of rules, but I did not once see anything regarding not being allowed to use my phone while waiting. There may have been something specific about loud phone calls, but nothing about using the phone to text, surf the internet etc, and others were indeed using their phones. I also cannot recall anyone else mentioning this previously, so it may be new? As for the last part, I was aware that this was a possibility, but did not apply to me specifically - on that note they also did not check my nose, throat or extremities.

You're asked to go behind a curtain, take off your bra and top and any jewelry and put on a hospital gown, ensuring the ties are tied at the back...

Then you're told to go back behind the curtain, put your bra back on but not your top, return the hair clip, and switch your gown around so the ties are at the front. Then you are shown to the female-only waiting room.

I don't know whether or not to be concerned about this, but I'm a female and almost none of this happened to me!! At no point was I given a gown, or directed to a female only waiting room. I only had to remove my bra once for the xray, and for the remainder of the appointment I was kept in my own clothes, stayed in the same male/female mixed waiting room, had my examination done by a male doctor, and was allowed to use my mobile phone throughout! My reflexes were not tested, and neither was my skin/neck/back examined (or my underwear touched.)

Seems very strange that our experiences were so different, and my medical was only about 3 weeks ago, so I doubt the difference was due to time :/

EDIT: By "almost none of this" I meant the examination, everything else was pretty much identical to my experience.

I called my medical doctors and they said they need something with the case number and name on it.

On the CEAC website it does not give my name, unless i'm doing something wrong?

Do you know how long it took your fiance to revieve the letter after it appeared at "ready"?

No, you are correct, it does not say your name on the ceac website, though multiple people have used the screenshot successfully. I think it took him 2-3 weeks after the NOA2 (I was not aware of the ceac website at the time), though his postal service is a bit iffy, so ymmv.

Do you remember which document you used of proof of your case number? Was it a letter from the nvc (mailed to your fiance) or did you wait for the embassy to send you the packet?

    Cheers

Not the OP but I had my medical 2 weeks ago and I was able to give them the letter my fiance received from the NVC as proof of case number, though you can also use the CEAC website printout as proof (if you haven't received the letter from the embassy, as I haven't).

That's good to know 😀 I have my vaccinations up to date, medical summary from GP,  long version birth certificate, police report, affidavit of support forms, passport pictures, passport and driving licence ID, I think that's everything I need 🤔

That sounds like everything you need, as long as you have what Knightsbridge asked for in their email, you'll be golden, don't need to bring anything else. With the interview too, you only need what is listed on https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/ as well as your MRV fee printout (and I would recommend bringing the letter they send you too, I didn't but I may have been lucky). As long as you have these done correctly, you shouldn't have anything to worry about (apart from sorting the wedding!! haha)

Sorry for all the questions 😞 What was the actual medical exam like, were you nervous,I sure am lol

It's no problem at all, I was the same before, I wanted to know every detail before going in!! Actually while I was pretty nervous the day before, on the morning of it I reached a sort of zen state, as I had triple checked that I had everything I needed, so anything else was up to fate. It was very chill and relaxed at Knightsbridge, all of the receptionists are very friendly and helpful, they answered all of my questions on the day. And, if you want, you can bring a chaperone with you for support, but they'll have to stay in the waiting room. First you give over your paperwork to a receptionist, and she'll then give you a second medical questionnaire to fill out and a cup to pee in (lol). After this, if you're like me you'll have a few waiting periods between talking to doctors: the first Dr checks over your vaccine records and signs them off/tells you if you're missing any(most in the UK are missing the chickenpox vaccine as it is not available), the second Dr does the chest xray (If you're wearing a light top you can keep that on for it, you just need to remove your bra) and the third Dr does the general examination, asks about any medication needed and checks your eyesight, ears, temp etc and takes a blood sample (hope you don't mind needles!). All were very friendly and polite. After this you wait around some more, then you'll be told if there were any issues (there weren't for me), and you'll be given a copy of the form sent to the embassy - it is VERY important that you keep a hold of this as you will need it for the AoS once you enter the US, but it is not required that you bring your copy to the interview as they (SHOULD -_- ) have their own by then.

Took about 1 1/2 hrs overall, easy peasy, and it was such a relief to get it done, so as long as you have everything they ask for, you'll be fine ^_^

Fingers crossed the embassy gets your results soon,I'm easily panicked that things are going to go wrong 🙁😂

Thanks, it was a bummer to hear, but I'm just glad that the only thing that went wrong was something I didn't really have control over!!(not counting booking the two further apart haha), so once they arrive it should be relatively straightforward.

  14. I selected the K1 option with no letter yet received, I have my interview on Tues (the 11th!), and I still don't have it. So, unless it arrives on Monday or early on Tuesday morning, I'll be proceeding without it, so fingers crossed it is not necessary and I will still be allowed in/approved!! I will let you know what happens either way.

I didn't receive a separate letter or email, either - I booked the interview anyway, and it was fine, they didn't ask for this letter that hadn't arrived. Did you receive the first letter from the embassy, confirming they'd received your case, and with a copy of the I-129f inside? This is all I received from them.

I took a photocopy of this NOA2 as proof to the medical, and that was accepted. At the embassy, they just wanted to see the DS-160 barcode and payment receipt email (after booking and paying for your visa appointment) before letting me in. No letter or email necessary.

No, as Wuozopo said, I have not received anything from the embassy. But it's reassuring to hear that the letter is not required for the medical/interview, as long as I have something else with my LND# and the other required info.

The people you need are in the Immigrant Visa Unit and you can not get to them by phone, only by using the contact form on the website. You likely spoke to the Nonimmigrant people who can't help with a K1. Even if you contact the Immigrant Visa Unit online, they will just tell you to carry on. They never send out a replacement letter.

Note: Knightsbridge will accept that NVC letter as proof of your properly assigned LND case number. They just want to verify you didn't' make up some fake number in order to jump the queue for a medical.

Ah well, in that case I'm doubly glad I decided to book it anyway. And that's a relief. Now I just have to deal with the nerves of my medical on the 4th of July and my interview on the 11th of July! Surprised that they had dates that close tbh, but thankful. Thanks again for your help, I think I'd be completely lost without VJ!

  17. Thanks so much for the help. After calling both the visa appointment people and embassy and receiving very unhelpful responses, I've decided that I will just follow your advice and book it anyway - since my letter should have arrived 3 weeks ago it's possible it will never get here. And since, like you say, I don't actually require the letter for either the interview/medical (I have printed the screenshot of the CEAC website, as well as copied the letter from the NVC my fiance received containing my LND#), fingers crossed it will not be an issue!!

I've already assembled all of the info/papers needed for both the medical and the interview, so all that's left is to pay the fee and schedule it (and attend, haha)!

  18. Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I have submitted the DS-160 as well as the 'notification of readiness' form, but I have not received any emails other than confirmations that those were completed. No info provided in either about scheduling the interview. I suppose I should just give them a call and see what they say, though I've been told that the London embassy can be less than helpful at times
