Congrats! As soon as you step into the country, you can file your I-485, EAD and AP. It costs $1140 plus 85 dollars for biometrics fees. it is not up to $1800 to file it. Its a total of $1,225

Wrong information  ! “As soon as you Step into the country you can file your I-485”

when an applicant arrives in the US with a K1 Visa , they have to get marry with in 90 days.

after they got married they can apply for AOS.

Not as soon as they step into the US.

HI everyone! I need your comment please...

I mailed out the documents on 1/10 by USPS and still showing "transit to Chicago" when I track it. When I call the bank, cheque has not been cash out yet....

My wife K1 visa will be expiring on 2/8 and I am afraid she will need to leave the country if this doesn't get to USCIS on time.

    What should I do?

On behalf of your wife’s K-1 visa as long as she married you within 90 days don’t be worried because the requirement for the K-1 visa is to marry within 90 days with the US petitioner, once she entered to the US that day her K-1 visa has been expired even though she have six months.

There are people that they cannot apply for AOS immediately due to monetary problem but  they fulfilled the K-1 requirements so they are not going to be deported

Hope we both get there soon

    just be patient.

  5. Congratulations!

It means your visa is approved and it will get issued soon.

it was same  with my visa . I had my interview in Jul 18 , then it was in administrative processing for over two months .

then in Oct 1st my status in CEAC changed to Application received, and in Oct 4 it went back to Administrative processing.

and in Oct 11 it changed to Issued .

your status will  change  to issued soon , don't worry .

  6. You just send the I-129F with its supporting documents.

No need for the affidavit of support at this point.

you need to send the affidavit of support when your I-129F approved and they send it to the country where your fiance lives.

then your fiancé will have an interview in the US embassy which is in his country and that's when he needs to take the affidavit of support.

plus he doesnt have to proof his financial status. The affidavit of support has to be signed and dated by the US citizen , you should proof to the embassy that you can support your foreign fiancé at the US.

    hope its clear now

    How was your fiance interview?

My interview was good , the officers were so kind and friendly.

they asked me around 16 questions and then they gave me two white cards about immigration law in The US. They gave me one yellow card 221g because of my medical.

i will have my medical this Coming Tuesday so they said once we recieve your medical result we will work on your case.

  8. Hi guys,

it has been 1 month and 12 days since our case recieved by the consulate.

but I am still waiting for my Packet 3/4 since then.

i don't know why it's taking so long for the Embassy to send me the packet 3/4!?

i sent them twice emails and they responded that when we open your case will send you in shortly.

    but it's taking forever 😞

Plus the CEAC keeps updating but the same "READY".

is this mean the consulate working on our case or what?

    TIA!

  9. I am freaking out a bit , it has been one month since our case has been transferred from NVC to the local embassy and I am still waiting for the embassy to schedule my interview and send me the instructions.

I sent twice an email to let them know that all my documents are ready for my interview but they didn't reply me.

i know I can't do anything then just to wait for the Embassy's email.

  10. Read it carefully,

IF YOU HAVE A 2 YEAR GREEN CARD YOU FILE FOR REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS (ROC) 90 days prior to your green card expires.

"A conditional permanent resident receives a green card valid for 2 years. In order to remain a permanent resident, a conditional permanent resident must file a petition to remove the condition during the 90 days before the card expires. The conditional card cannot be renewed. The conditions must be removed or you will lose your permanent resident status."

"Any alien granted permanent resident status on a conditional basis (e.g., a spouse of a U.S. citizen; an immigrant investor), who is required to petition for the removal of the set conditions before the second anniversary of the approval of his or her conditional status."

Conditional status starts when you first obtain lawful status in the US,
for CR-1's that is the day you enter the US
for K-1's that is the date on your green card, (when it was approved/ issued) (not when you entered the US,

for CR-1 if you enter the US AFTER your 2nd wedding annivasary then the officer at the POE should change you to IR1, (the embassy can also change it if your interivew is after the 2nd annivasary.

Yes you have to file ROC (if required), in order to apply for US citizenship.
some think they can "save money by not filing for ROC after 2 years instead just apply for US citizenship after 3 years.
    well they are wrong.

"An application for naturalization may not be approved if there is a pending petition for removal of conditions. If an applicant’s petition to remove conditions is pending at the time of filing or is filed prior to the interview, USCIS will adjudicate the petition to remove conditions prior to or concurrently with the adjudication of the naturalization application"

Hi everybody! i am filling out I 134 Affidavit, confused at Part 1 question12 bout length of residency in US,

I am a naturalized citizen, and it is asking me to put an exact date, should i put the date when i first came to US on a visa? or the date when i first got my greencard?

thanks in advance!   good luck to all!

Put the date that the first day you entered for the first time in the USA.

if you don't remember the exact date then just give a close estimate date.
