    Hi Duncan,

Did you apply expedited, what are the first two digits of the locator number?

Mine is (68) for New Hampshire, I need my passport urgently due to upcoming travel mid-October. I also reached out to my congressman his office for escelation.

I did apply as expedited and selected the 2-day delivery.  My locator number starts with 79, which I believe is Houston.

Quick, I applied expedited on the 14th. Hopefully I can have it soon as I travel mid-October.

Please keep us posted as I have similar timeline.

Literally the same months for everything. Just had my i751 Interview but was told although they waived my biometrics back in may 2020 it has actually expired and I need to redo it so now I need to wait a month or more for an appointment because there are no ASC appointments at any offices in my whole state. They will only approve my case when the biometrics appointment has been done. Sooo probably a 2 year long roc case for me.

When did you do biometrics in the past?  I saw somewhere that an applicant had biometrics waived since he or she had biometrics done 5 years ago!

    Hi All,

I had my interview and ceremony today. So I’m officially a citizen and very proud! Thank you all for help and advise on this forum. It was most definitely comforting and helped with the stress to see that we are not alone in this process.

About the interview the officer was very kind and approved me quickly. I only had to wait on the oath ceremony for about two hours. Time passed quick as I found some great people to talk with while waiting. Staff overall was very warm and welcoming. My last advise is to no worry to much, I did and it was not necessary.

Thank you all, my journey ends here!

    Congratulations!

    2/11/2019: NOA (MSCXXXXXXXXXX)

    2/15/2019: Biometrics Appointment letter received

    3/1/2019: Biometrics Completed

11/2/2020: InfoPass appointment at Newark, NJ - received I-551 stamp, valid for 1 year

    6/11/2020:  N-400 priority date

    6/16/2020:  NOA

  6. Hi all...posted this message in a few threads...I field for ROC (I-751) in February 2019 and for N400 in June 2020.  I received a notice back in July for N400 interview, but never received an interview notice for the I-751.  Our N400 interview was this past Friday, September 10 and the officer adjudicated the i-751 at the same time in a combo interview - we went prepared for a combo interview.  Both approved, and since Newark, NJ does same day Oath Ceremony, the Certificate of Naturalization was issued on the same day.  The i-751 portion took about 5 mins: we were not separated and the officer asked the following in the following order:

    * to the US citizen spouse: what is your spouse's full name and date of birth?

                                                    when did you get married?

how did you meet your spouse?

    * to the applicant: what is your spouse's full name and date of birth?

We took a lot of additional evidence but was never asked to produce any of it.  We believe that it is probably because when giving the officer the original documents (birth certificates, green card, marriage certificate, first child's birth certificate etc), we also handed him the hospital birth records for the birth of our second child less than a month ago.

The N400 portion was about 15 mins, and straightforward: the 50 Yes/No questions that are in the application, 6 civics questions and confirming/signing of documents.

Good luck to all!   See timeline in signature below for details.

GIGANTIC SIGH OF RELIEF! Oh.my.Gosh Yay...

19 days after the Combo interview, status for both I-751 and N-400 have FINALLY been updated, now in line for the Oath ceremony. The finish line is getting super close, I'm so stoked 🙂

3 years and 8 months since our I-130 was sent, man that feels good!

Sending good vibes to everyone that is still waiting, your turn will come soon!

Congratulations!  For the combo interview, did USCIS notify you that it will be a combo interview?  Our N400 interview is coming up and hoping it will be a combo interview.  Thanks!

Even the expedited time sounds very long.  I've seen where people actually get same day passports.  Maybe try a different county?

This is the standard timeline currently - which may change in the future.  The same day passports are only for (1) life or death emergency situations or (2) urgent travel.  More info can be found here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast/passport-agencies.html

For the regular processing, it might be worthwhile to pay the extra $18 to expedite mailing.

    Hi All

Just attended my interview and same day oath ceremony in San Francisco. It was a really pleasant experience overall.

Thanks to all the members of this forum (especially @Sartre) for their advice.

Quick question: To apply for a passport. The local post office has not appointments for another 6 weeks. Is there any way to apply faster than that?

All the best to everyone that is waiting for naturalization. Please be patient. Your day will come :)

    Love and peace to all!

Congratulations!  There is a link on the US passport application website for Passport Acceptance Centers....you can enter your zip code and see the various locations.  For example, in my township in NJ, the local public library is one of the Passport Acceptance Centers (in addition to the post office)...I hope this helps.

Hi everyone.. just an update i got my i751 interview letter as well today. It is the same date and time as my N400 interview. Does anybody know if we are allowed to carry phones inside the building?i have a lot of pictures on my phone of me and wide that i think should help with our case. Thanks

Very good news!  I agree with @Greatdane11 to print a few of those pictures....we had sent in 20 pictures or so previously.  I wanted to ask what is the date of your interviews?  We also have a N400 interview coming up in September, but no word yet on the i751 interview but we are preparing for it to be a combo interview.

    Thanks Duncan21.

She is now US citizen , I have to wait for another 3 weeks.

Interview was easy. Just practice those 100 questions. Reading /writing was simple sentences.

Name change is very simple process. Looks like all oath slots are Judicial so its depend on the IO, how soon they complete the name change documentation and put you in oath queue. Daily they do 5-6 time oath with max of 23 applicants.

    Thanks

Congratulations to your wife!  And good luck to you in a few weeks!  That is good to know that same day Oath is possible even for name change at the Newark office.

    Hi All,

For anyone interested or with a similar filling date.

Received a status update, and my interview was scheduled for September 13th in Newark, NJ!

Congratulations!  Our interview is September 10.

  14. Hi all, I received an email today that N400 citizenship interview was scheduled.  Upon checking my USCIS account, the interview letter was there - interview will occur on September 10 at 9:30 AM at the Newark, NJ office.  No word on the i-751 but we will plan for both of us to be at the interview in case its a combo interview.  See timeline below in signature.

Thank you very much for your reply!

Yes. I did have my interview at 8801 Northwest 7th avenue. After the officer asked me the test questions and go through the application form questions he gave me a paper saying I was recommended for approval. He told me that they will send me my oath ceremony letter. He escorted me out of the room, to the waiting lobby area and I left. Did I have to wait outside again? Did you wait in the officers office or outside at waiting area for the letter? I also asked for a name change(back to my maiden name) do you think that can be a reason why I didn't get my ceremony letter right away? I'm so confused.

    On my uscis account its says;

    July 20, 2021

    Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number xxxxxxx with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Under the documents tab there is no oath ceremony letter , the last file is interview scheduled.

Again, thank you very much for your reply and congrats on your citizenship!

Thank you for sharing your experience.  When you said you requested a name change, was this on the original N400 application or during your interview process?
