Anyone who is from Ghana, can you please tell me how where you would go to purchase your ticket if you do not use debit card? Also if its purchased in person do they charge a processing fee of some sort ? Thanks
If he wants to purchase his ticket with cash he can do so at the airport however it will be more expensive than buying the ticket online, I'm not sure what the fees are.
My fiance wanted to pay for his ticket so I purchased it online with my credit card and he gave me cash once he arrived. He exchanged cedis for us dollars before he left Gh

Went to immigration and Only thing I was told that the normal processing now days can take 12 - 15 months for the 1-130 for spouse. I told him how Nebraska is the only slow service center as all others are well ahead of us and he said they are suppose to equal out the case load but should of could of and didn't, doesn't do any of us any good, so no good news to share. Still we wait. Now trying to meet with congressman and senators.
12-15 months is the timeline I heard as well, seems like such a long time but you are almost there... I hope your congressman or senator can help speed things along. Fingers crossed!

Years ago, it took a week or 2 to get into the SAVE system. If you went too soon and they couldn't verify your status, then they would need to do manual verification...which took ~6 weeks. Nowadays, just a day or two should be fine, and I've seen people do it even sooner without issues.
Oh this is good to know, thanks for the updated info Geowrian! I read a few threads on VJ that recommended waiting for 2 week period. We will go this week then. Thanks again!

I have read so many threads were couples gets married without filling for the social security number for their fiance first. It seems like it makes the whole process for the AOS more stressful because your fiance cannot be added to a lot of your accounts with no social so it makes for less evidence when applying. So everyone, apply for the social first!
That's all...
I couldn't agree more, I heard that it's best to wait two weeks after POE, we have one more week to go!

What's sad is my lawyer filed K/3 1-139f already married and I believe lawyer set me back by doing that since I see K/3 no longer used. I'm very frustrated at all this and at my lawyer for not filing correctly.
Wow, are you serious? With all the information available on the internet pertaining to immigration there's no reason your lawyer should have made such a negligent mistake. Sounds like a refund is in order. A lot of people on this forum have had similar experiences with attorneys. It's really unfortunate.. hopefully your issue will be resolved expeditiously.

I'm happy for both of you Ubahsi & PrincyE as looks as if both are filing for your loved ones from Ghana. I filed for my husband back in Nov of 2016 so be thankful neither of u got stuck in Nebraska as I am. My husband is in Ghana and is so anxious to get here and nothing but delays , so we are both frustrated. May God get us thru soon..
Thank you very much Sundee I am extremely grateful!!! The K-1 process was nerve wrecking so I can only imagine what you must be enduring going through the CR-1 process. I'm so sorry to hear that your case is stuck in Nebraska, hopefully it will be processed with good results soon. I've heard the timeline for CR-1 is 12-15 months so if that's the case you are almost there.. keep having faith and hold on your time is coming!

what is packet 3 and how does he receive it
Packet 3 is an instruction packet pertaining to next steps, i.e, visa submission & payment, medicals, police certificate, etc.. my fiance received it in the mail.

i mean did the beneficiary in ghana had to schedule an interview or the embassy scheduled the interview for him
After my fiance received packet 3 from the embassy I scheduled the interview on my fiance'a behalf via http://www.ustraveldocs.com/

I don't see any glaring red flags considering what you stated. Just make sure your fiance is well prepared (with ample evidence) and confident during the interview, that's the key.
Wishing you and your fiance the best of luck!

I just called NVC and got my case number today, but when I ask about the letter from NVC the person I talked to said I won't get any notice from NVC because it's a K1 and generally they won't keep K1 fiance visa long at NVC. Is this true or will I be getting a letter from NVC with the case number just like NOA1 & NOA2 from the USCIS?
Thanks,
Bluesky
I am a K1 petitioner and I did receive a letter from the NVC, it arrived after our petition was already at the embassy (March 2017) I'm not sure if their process has changed since then.

I don't think your medical history will have a negative impact and it's highly unlikely that they will ask you about it.

Lawyer does NOT want to frontload?!
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures

The length of time the attorney has been practicing immigration law does not increase your chances of success. What does increase your chances is hardcore qualitative evidence. As you are already probably aware Gh embassy is very tough and they scrutinize more than most. It's too risky not to frontload in my personal opinion.
It's better to err on the side of caution and be proactive verses reactive. Fontload, frontload, frontload although it's not required I strongly believe it can make your case or break it.
Always go with your instincts, at the end of the day it's your spouse, life, family etc that will be effected should something go wrong not your attorney.
To answer your question- NO you should not trust his process!!!
