  1. hi missushabes - thank you for all your advise, they are really helpful! i just have a quick question regarding the interview scheduling at the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi, once they receive your case file and send you packet 3, do they actually pre-select the interview date for you? i seem to get conflicting info online, some posts indicate that they have been given a pre-selected date while some others indicated that they were able to the date select themselves. thanks!

You can ask away, I don't mind as long as I have the answers to them I will help you. :)

If I do not have the answer, you can post it here in VJ as a topic.

The thing is I went home last September to get everything: CENOMAR, NBI and BC. I took my annual leave at the same month that we filed for the visa. I went to SM Pampanga to request for my BC and CENOMAR. It took 10 days I think before I was able to get it.It was not delivered to me, I went back to SM and took it. I ordered (4) copies of BC as they said we would need that in other purposes once we get here in the US. For the NBI, I made an appointment online at Ali Mall, and since my name is very common, I have a hit, I had to go back and take it, If your name is very unique, you should be able to get it on the same day.

I did all of those at around the 1st week of October 2016 and we got the NOA2 October 21, 2016. I suggest you get everything ready even without the NOA2 yet, because as soon as you receive NOA2, you should be getting ready with the documents you need from your fiance's side which you need to bring during the interview stage. His tax forms, w2, employment certificate, paystubs, bank statements and form i-134.

With NBI I think you can get some forms filled out from the Philippine Consulate, but for BC and CENOMAR, try to have anyone you trust to come to any SM mall and try to request for it on your behalf. IDK if that can be done but there is no harm in trying. They can send it to anyone who is coming back to Dubai or they can have it LBC'ed. :)

thank you missushabes, this is very helpful. my mother will be getting my BC and CENOMAR this week and i have a friend coming over in early april so i've got those covered. my only problem now is the NBI clearance. I will try to do it via the Philippine Consulate way but I have to find out if my local NBI office in Cebu will accept it and if they do, will they require my authorized representative to still make an appointment or can they just walk in without one to submit the form.

i suspect i will also have a hit with my NBI clearance since i remember getting one a long time back (when i applied for my first passport). how long did you have to wait after the hit before you can come back and collect your clearance?

My appointment was October 12 and they said I should go back October 19. 12th is a Wednesday so they made me go back the following week. :)
