I think most are upset or maybe anxious because they want to be able to work and travel. Personally I don't care how long the green card takes, but my husband is bored and wants to work and we certainly could use the additional income. I knew there would be a waiting period for him to be able to start working as I researched the entire K1 process and next steps before filing, but it seems that many are taken by surprise that the K1 immigrant cannot work or travel right away. The fact that waiting times have gone up and there is some uncertainty regarding changes in how aos is processed adds to people's frustration as well. But like you said, at least we are waiting together with our loved ones this time.

We sent our AOS package off on October 3rd, and I found out through tracking that it arrived. Woo-Hoo! We are looking forward to receiving our NOA 1 soon **fingers crossed**

Hello!
We sent off our AOS package on Friday and FedEx tracking says it will arrive tomorrow morning (Monday October 2nd) So thought I'd start a new thread for anyone else filing in October! 😊
I entered on a K1 Visa on August 11th , and we married 3 weeks later! I've filed for EAD/AP also. I've blogged about my entire immigration journey so far and the link is down below! Good luck to everyone , fingers crossed our wait isn't too long ❤️

It may depend on the state. In KS, on the marriage license the applicants can change their names to any name (shared or not). My Dominican husband dropped his second last name. I would change it on the marriage license and that way you can avoid extra fees.
