CONGRATULATIONS!
-
The passport won't indicate that you are legal in the country (I-94 expired). No DMV accepts NOAs, not that I ever heard of. SSO and DMV told me that the NOAs are nice and I can frame them on the wall, without valid I-94, EAD or GC no DL!
Missouri requirements:
Lawful Permanent Resident (Resident Aliens)
One of the following:
• I-551 card (Resident Alien Card)
• Passport stamped “Approved I-551”
• Passport stamped “Processed for I-551”
• Re-entry Permit I-327
• I-94 stamped “Processed for I-551”
Expiration dates do not indicate the expiration of legal permanent resident status.
Applicants for adjustment of status
Immigration documentation indicating status, and
One of the following:
• Employment Authorization Document I-688B or I-766
• Passport
The tricky part is - NC had the same requirements - that documentation indicating my status is an EAD or GC. You can try your luck though!
I contacted Arizona DMV and explained my situation and they confirmed that I can apply with my visa and once that has expired I can extend my licence with a NOA for proof that I've applied for AOS. I have written correspondance from them confirming this. But as said before, every state is different.

Well on a good note, Jamal is here with me right now (YAY!). We havent received P3 yet
But I was wondering when we send it back we only send the checklist, the forms that I fill in right? I dont need to send the I-134, thats for the interview? Jamal brang everything with him except the noa2 and the letter from his bank to support the I-134. Can I just print all the things I need and send that in to the embassy? They takin forever sending the p3 to me!!!

I was just interested. Myself, I'm not religious and neither is Jamal and was wondering what are peoples opinions on belief and their religion. Yes, I know I've spelt the title of this thread wrong!!! But I cant edit it!

Yes - I know I'm just a big worrier!!! But this whole process does bring out the worrier in the most positive and calm people!!!

Ok - so by now all of u guys must realize I'm always worrying! I noticed that the 'similar timelines' to me, most people receive packet 3 at the most around 5 days after the London embassy receive the petition from NVC. I called the crazy expensive 0904 number today and they said they had no record of my petition arriving at the embassy! Is that standard? Do they send packet 3 out before they enter them on the system? I've read so many horror stories about peoples petition going missing and it taking mnths to get on track again, I worry tooooo much! lol x

I know its been asked before - but on the DS-156 form it says that you need to attatch all birth certs, police certs, marriage cert and divorce certs when you send it back - but dont you need them for the interview? Do you need to send them back with the packet 3 or keep them for the interview??
Download and read the attached
Thanks

We're both Capricorns!! Our b-days are 5 days apart form each other!
-
I havent seen many approvals recently and was wondering how it was going for my fellow December filers??
-
Jamal is the USC. The name on his birth cert is a double barrelled sir name due to an error that was made when his birth was registered. The name he uses and has been using is just a single name sirname, this is what is on his passport.

I'm in the uk forum so I was wondering if anyone who've had their interview in London could advise me? Trouble is Jamals Birth cirt has a slightly different name than on his passport (long story) and we are worried it might delay us if we have to produce his birth cert and not his passport. Thanks

For the interview do I have to show copy of Jamals birth cert (usc) or is a copy of his passport like we used in the original petition ok?

Hey guys! Quick question (gettin everything prepared since NVC now have the application!) ..
When filling out DS-156 form the question about 'do you intend to work/study' What do you put there if going on a K1 visa? Eventually I will want to work and go to college but they ask for the details and I havent got a clue!! Actually, the whole form is confusing! What do you put for all the questions about 'purpose, whos paying' etc if your going on a K1??? Thanks
Please if anyone can give me a run down on how to fill it out it would be really appretiated!

I know its all been asked before, and I'm sorry for that, but the search on this site never seems to work when I want it too!! I called NVC today and they confirmed that they have received the case and gave me my LND number. I've been told that I can now book my appointment for my medical with that. Do I have to wait for packet 3 or can I just go ahead and make an appointment? If I can does anyone have the details of the place I need to contact??? Thanks everyone!!!
-
Go to the UK specific forum. Also, check out the Gallery for scans of the checklist for packet 3 - it's all there!
Isnt this the UK specific forum??
I was alos interested what is needed for packet 3. So far..
- I've sent for my police cert
- I have my b-cert, marriage and divorce cert, my vaccination records for the medical, copy of the original petition & passport photos
- Jamal is coming to the UK in 2 weeks with notorized advicate of support, military pay forms, a letter from his commander and his tax info
I'm waiting for P3 but want everything ready to send back the day I receive it. What else do I need??
-
Yup - 2 years here too. Agian, we had the luxury of living in the same country, and then moving in with each other. But I dont think we would have been able to do this whole process if we hasnt had that time together. I'm not a very trusting person, and I needed to be able to trust ther person i'm gonna marry 100% - and that time together allowed that!
-
Thanks guys

My question is ... how come it takes a couple of days for NVC to receive some peoples cases, but weeks for others???
-
When you apply for the SSN how long does it usually take to get it?
-
I'm female and leaving the UK to be wit my honey!!
-
Thanks everyone
To those of you who are still waiting for your NOA2s - I hope you get them real soon! x
-
For the medical you need to produce your vaccination record? Does it have to list everything that you've had or just what is required by the US? I contacted my GP and they said that I had to request it in writing but I couldnt just ask for my vaccination history, I had to specify which ones I wanted to confirm that I'd had. Is this right?

Ok, so one of 3 things happened today:
1) No December Filers approved (Obviously this is only CSC, VSC December filers should all have been approved last October)
2) December Filers who received approvals are off celebrating and have not had an opportunity to share their joy
3) I'm blind and missed the CSC approval threads.
I'm hoping it's #'s 2 or 3.
We're starting to get the 'last kid picked for gym class' syndrome, and I'm usually the king of patience (comes from being a life long Saints fan, I suppose).

Dont worry - I was feeling the same! But then yesterday we were approved and I was really not expecting it. I just knew that we'd get an RFE!! Lol. It'll come on the day that you dont wake up and run straight to the computer to check!! Good luck!!
Marriage certificate
in United Kingdom
Posted
Well - We've received the p3 now!! hurrah!!! Anyway, a while back I posted regarding the marriage cert that is needed for prior marriages for the K1. I was having trouble obtaining this as it was in Tanzania and I didnt know what to do. That was areound 2 months ago. Now, I've contacted the UK embassy in Tanzania, the Tanzanian embassy in London and my 'ex' husband (who advised that in Tanzania, as they dont have a computerized system the cannot provide marriage certs once the divorce has been finalized) Now I dont know what to do!! No one can help, even the Tanzanian government! I emailed the US embassy but have received no reponse. What should I do?
