My baby had his interview this morning and we were approved weeee! He got there early this morning said he stood outside in the cold for about an hour, was given immigrant number 6 turned in his paperwork, was told to take a seat and wait, shortly after he was called to a kiosk where a very young american woman asked him a few questions, mainly when/where did we meet, when did we get engaged, where did we work and if he had bought a ring yet ( he showed her the receipt for the ring) and that was it

He will be arriving in the US on May 3rd hopefully!

Hello again this update finallly brings a little good news just a little late posting it. We finally got packet 4 Monday, our Interview Date is April 20th at 9am. Thanks Everyone for the support no way could I or we get through this without VJ and VJ'ers. We were also looking at buying our plane tickets for him to come to the USA for April 27th(assuming we make it through the interview the way our lick is going who knows lol) anyone think this is a little soon? Dont really no how fast the courier service is after the interview date.

Hello we are in the same boat as well, We sent back our first packet 3 with all the forms and checklist Feb 12, and to this date they are still saying they havent recieved it, So we declared it lost and did a new packet 3 which we mailed off March9th. In addition cause i just saw the other post we thought it had been delivered to the embassy on March 12th, but apperently it was delivered but to that mystery PO box address where according to the post office hasnt been picked up from there yet... At this point I wont lie, Im feeling really down and hopeless this whole journey has been one road bump after another and still no end in site. Im hanging in there from only the sheer love i have for my fiancee and I wont let anything stop us from being togther. I hope all of us hear some good news soon god only knows we need it.

Just an update on ours, Been 1 month now since we mailed off our first packet 3 to the london embassy and still saying no records of it at the embassy when I call the state dept. My fiancee and I have declared it lost and mailed a new packet 3 to them Friday the 9th of March, Delivery Confirmation says they received it today, so here we go waiting again...

My fiancee loved the food here, especially the sweet stuff, for him the sweeter richer it was the happier he was. He never complained about anything being too sweet and he made an instant love for oatmeal pies, twinkies, and our version of pancakes lol hes always begging for me to send him some. I guess it could depend where you live at in the UK too, he lives in a very very very small country town there no fast food places or restuarants even close to him which was another thing he got into really big over here, I think he lived off subway for like a week straight. Ill have to watch him when he moves here for good, Im guessing he put on 15-20lbs in 3 months when he was here for his last visit cause he ate so much junk/fast food because he liked it so much.

Yep that means still nothing today Sate dept still back to saying no record but the guy I had on the phone today was very nice and seemed cheerful so i took the opportunity to ask some questions. I told him about VJ and there being 2 people who sent there packet in a few days before us, 1 who sent it back same day, and 1 who sent theres back 10 days later and they all had interview dates already and 2 of them I knew of had already got packet 4 in the mail so we were starting to have concerns over our packet 3 being lost. I asked about getting a new packet 3 and based on his answeres we are going to reguest a new packet 3 today from the embassy, If we dont have an interview date by the time the new packet 3 comes we are going to fill it out and send the new one back. He said they would make a notation in the system that we had asked for another packet 3 so even if later down the road they ended up with 2 packet 3s from us it wouldnt be a problem or cause any delays or confusion. And this is where we stand at now lol.

Yeah still havent heard anything, only been calling the State Dept this week and have kinda avoided posting for the main reason they are just pissing me off. This week went like this Mon- State Dept said they had no record, Tues- State Dept said we were there and had been added to the list of waiting for an interview, Wed- State Dept says they have no record again wth? So I asked the woman on the phone how is it today there is no record when yesterday we were told we were there and on the waiting list. Response I got was I dont know, they hired new people and one of them must have read it wrong. Today I havent bothered calling either one just a tad frustrated still.

Make sure you check out the customs rule on bringing pets in from another country too, Im not sure what they are here in america so you may not have any problems, When my fiancee was here visiting me on one of his trips my cat had kittens and he feel in love with one of them, so I suggested he take it back with him, and he said it wouldnt be any good that customs would hold the kitten for a few months for some reason( I admit I dont really remember now what he said it was) and he didnt want that.

You guys sound just like my fiancee and I but flipped, I have a saying which is Murphys law owns me.. Basically meaning anything that can go wrong will, and yeah its usually been the story of my life and my fiancee tells me the same thing you have told yours that he has good luck and im with him now so it will balance out. And hearing that from him no doesnt help me with my stress any lol. I do find that being in "control" has helped the most. Kinda like Kim+Dave said, seeing all the forms double checking them reading reading reading and asking a million questions even if they been asked before. I called the USCIS during the first part even though everyone said it wouldnt do any good until after 6 months, I called the NVC, I call the state dept now everyday and my fiancee calls the embassy too when I start stressing a bit. Even if its too soon, or they wont tell me anything yet it still makes me feel like Im doing something which makes me feel better. Maybe you should direct your fiancee to this forum and let him stress it out here, it has been a huge help to me though you do get the occasional smart butt or I already been through this process and seen your question a thousand times dont ask it go find it out for yourself type of person who answers, but Im learning to ignore them and keep working things out. This might be a good place for him to ask questions he has even if you have already told him answers yourself sometimes seeing it in writing from a few other people makes it better lol.

We were going to go on a cruise too for our honeymoon until I found out about most needing a passport now etc, However I think you can still go to the Virgin Islands or Bermuda before the AOS, those 2 places dont require passorts for the cruise, not 100% sure, cause read into it a little but we really wanted to go to barbados so we just decided to wait.

Called the State Dept this morning still no interview date however I have just a little bit info, I know you said there was no difference in calling the Embassy and the State Dept, but when my fiancee called the Embassy on Friday they said they had recieved the packet 3 and we were now on a waiting list for our interview. When I called the State Dept this morning, they said they have no record of the Embassy recieving packet 3 yet and we werent in the system at all. Debating on getting my fiancee to call the embassy again to just to see what they say today, If we do decided too Ill post again if they say something different still then what the State Dept did.

My fiancee and I are doing the same thing as well. We are expecting to do the courthouse marriage after a week or 2 of him getting here hopefully in April, Our "Big" Wedding for friends, family, with dress flowers etc is July 16th.

I didnt call the embassy, I cant its for UK only lol, and he did it while i was sleeping.. One of those man things if he wants to waste his money on it *shrugs* I let him be lol, I do call the state dept when I personally check it.

More fun with the embassy lol, my fiancee called the embassy this morning the paid line to see if we had an interview date today, and yesterday they told us we werent even in the system( typical response) well today the woman said we were in the system but couldnt be given an interview cause our case was incomplete they were missing the medical, my fiancee not being a avid reader of vj like me accept this response thinking they needed the results of his medical before they scheduled the interview. When he told me about it when i woke up I told him that wasnt the case. you can get your interview date before you have your medical so i didnt know what the woman was talking about. So he called them back, the second woman he talked to said everything was fine and in the system but due to their backlog could take 4-6 weeks before we get an interview date ( which im hoping is just another standard response) But gee what a fun morning lol.

nvm just back read and saw it was the same thing they told nicole... sigh guess ill be calling them everyday now but ast least i know its close!

I feel so left out I called the state dept today to check for us since we all have around the same times, and the guy on the phone said they dont have nothing in their system for us yet from london Does this mean london hasnt got packet 3 or is this the typical message you get until they actually have an interview date? My fiancee had his medical today. as i put in a previous post we didnt have his vaccination record, his local doctor said he had to write some place and request it. Which we called the medical place and they said on the phone that it was okay when he recieved it he could just mail it to them. He passed everything in the medical today with flying colors and he had the german doctor as well, and he mention to the doctor that he was mailing them his vaccination record when he recieved it. The doctor told him he didnt have to send it to them, that it wasnt needed for the K1 visa. Has anyone else ever heard this before? I talked it over with my fiancee and we are going to mail it to them anyway, better safe than sorry. Just thought it was really weird and wanted to share it with everyone on here.

Something Else I seemed to notice when it came to timelines and Packet 4, Is the ones who recieved Packet 4 like 2 weeks after they mailed off packet 3 had interview dates 1-2 months away from the date they receieved packet 4. Whereas the people who didnt get packet 4 till like 4-6 weeks after the mailed off packet 3 usuallt had their interview date within 2 weeks of the date they recieved packet 4. SO it seems to balance out get packet 4 fast and still wait forever for the interview or wait forever for packet 4 and then have the interview very fast.

Ill add our experience with this here too, My fiancees local doctor would give him his vaccination record, he had to write some place and have it mailed to him. He wont recieve it back in time for the medical which he called the medical place and they said that was fine he can just send it to them when he gets it. So we will see what happens when all of this does happen hehe.

Just a litle info to add to the statistics, My finacee requested his police records on January 26th and he recieved them in the mail on Feb 15th. So was pretty fast for us.

Im waiting anxously to know how you faired too PCK! Though Im sure everything was fine. My fiancee scheduled his medical today its Feb 21st. Nicole Ill be right there in the crazy house with you, this is maddening Im also right there with you on calling the state dept. I keep telling myself just wait the 2 weeks but I think Im going to break down and call in a week lol even if they cant tell me anything it somehow just makes me feel a little better knowing im doing something with it.

No idea, we do have our own website solely based on our relationship had it since july of last year basically to give us something to work on togther with its upkeep and a place for us to store photos other memories were we can easily access them wherever/whenever we want. We did post a little K1 info on there if I remember right, Ill have to visit my own site again to check lol. Though must admit havent worked on it in forever been so bogged down with work and everything going on I did send the link to our website with our original K1 petition, have no way of knowing if they looked at it or anything, was thinking about giving them the link too at the interview but kinda the same dont know if they would even bother looking it up and I doubt they would in the middle of the interview but as always you never know and I dont see where it would hurt, even if it didnt really help. Besides proof of the relationship I dont know what else you would really want to put on there, I mean any financial info or really personal info specially copies of personal documents dont think it would be too safe to have it on the open net.

Ill join you and feather we sent off our packet 3 yesterday so now the wait for us begins too! Me being the worrier that I am was reading about the cover letter and date and asked my fiancee today so what did you put in for the wedding date and arrival date? He says he left them blank cause nothing has been set in stone yet -.-. Hope this doesnt mean the embassy is like meh we cant wait as long as we want to give them their interview! Fingers crossed for all us, I thought I was bad obcessing over the NOA2 but already my nerve level is going past that knowing we are at the final step lol. Thanks! Be a little easier if this was for the AOS interview, but Its hard to come up with good proofs of evidence to show ongoing onrelationship when we havent seen each other in months lol
