That seems reasonable to me. I'm just reminded of back in the old I-129 days when people were sending these huge packets of ####### that served to simply slow down the process. I'm going with a bank statement from every few months along the way (why would the need every month) same with different bills showing the same address. My daughter on her insurance. Some car insurance documents, taxes, and that is about it.

I am doing something similar - I have a breadth of documents rather than a depth of documents.  I am using a sample of bank statements rather than all of them - but also including samples of loans, store accounts, health insurance, photos, travel tickets etc... (and tax returns)  Probably fewer than 60 pages in total

I think it is important for each person to submit whatever they feel comfortable with.  The last time around I got an RFE because the form had been updated between filling it in and submitting it and I had to start all over again.

    Hi everyone,

I am in a sticky situation as my husband lost his job due to COVID-19 and we are barely scraping by, of course it's time to renew the green card and remove conditions!

So we could have sent in the package last week but we were waiting for unemployment to kick in so we can use it towards this fee (YIKES!!!! and now its going up even more).

I have already filled out all the paperwork, but I am wondering what you are all including in your packet besides the obvious forms and payment? Is there a guide here of what to send? It's so hard being under all this pressure at once. With the job loss, employment search, global pandemic and this removal of conditions for a new green card.

Any words of wisdom are appreciated. I also am curious if you are all sending in the new fee amount that was halted by the judge, or the old amount?

VJ has a guide here as to what to include with your application:

This is my list so far of supporting evidence:

    1.      Escrow statement showing both names

    2.      Mortgage statements – April, May, July, August 2020

    3.      Verizon bills showing Michelle as Chelley [surname] June, August, September 2020

    4.      Synchrony bank loan statements for roof repairs showing both names 09/20

    5.      Health insurance cards front and back

    6.      Sam’s club membership renewal showing both names

    7.      Life Insurance docs (x2) showing Aaron and Michelle as mutual beneficiaries

    8.      401k document (Michelle) showing Aaron as beneficiary

    9.      401k beneficiary designation (Aaron) showing Michelle as beneficiary

    10.   Election confirmation benefits Michelle – showing Aaron as beneficiary 2018 & 2020

    11.   Joint checking account statements Dec 18, Oct 19, Jan 20, May 20, Sep 20

    12.   Joint Savings Account transactions March 2019 – Sept 2020

    13.   Flight booking October 2019 to visit family in Ireland- both names – Aer Lingus

    14.   Flight Booking receipts to visit Michelle’s cousin in Miami, June 2019 – one receipt in each name

    15.   Flight booking confirmation to visit Michelle’s cousin in Miami, February 2020 – both names

    16.   Boarding passes to visit family in Ireland and London Dec 2018

    17.   Photographs 2018 - 2020

I am not sending EVERY bank statement from the time of the start of the relationship - just a sample selection to show that our bills account was/is a joint account and I am doing the same with other bills.

I'm also an October filer, I'm planning to send my package on October 13th. I finished preparing my package with the increased fee,  but I keep checking the news everyday to see if either the I-751 form changes before I send it or the filing fees change (as we just heard from yesterday, that a judge halted the increased fees). If the judge actually halts the fees increase but USCIS rejects it or ignores it, I'm not sure about the check amount we should be sending them. I'd rather pay the increased amount and not get my application rejected to be honest...

I hadn't heard about the halt to the increase  in fees!  There are certainly some issues with the increases - particularly with the asylum seekers fee- thank you for flagging this - we should all keep our eyes open!

  5. Hello everyone!

I am currently preparing my packet for removal of conditions to mail next week and thought I would take this opportunity to start our forum topic.

As a reminder - here is the link to the USCIS page as we all make our way through yet another pile of paperwork!

    https://www.uscis.gov/i-751

Good luck - and don't forget the fees increase next week too!

Here is a link to some of the changes on the new documentation and fees effective from October 2nd:

    https://www.aila.org/File/Related/20073100da.pdf

Also: the current i-751 form has an expiry date of December 2019 on it.  Whilst this is the correct form to use at the time of this post - it COULD change before you submit your packet so ALWAYS check the USCIS site before mailing your packet to make sure you are sending the correct form.

    Good luck!

    Hey guys! New member here.

my interview has been scheduled for February 4th.

do I need to redo my medical? I did send it in a sealed envelope with my vaccination record. But it has expired already.

I sent my AOS packet on Nov,2017 and my medical was valid through May, 2018.

Im super nervous as the date is getting close.

I was not asked for a new medical.  Medical date was March 6th 2017.  AOS submitted September 2017 and my interview was January 9th 2019.

Hello everyone, I filed for my I-485 on December 2019 together with my I-765. I was wondering how long did you guys wait until you got your EAD? 😊

My first EAD took around 3 months - my renewal took five and a half months - and that was with an expedite request!  Current processing times for EAD are around six months now - much longer than they were a year ago

Unfortunately this is the Internet, where there is no shortage of "experts" to tell us how stupid we are, etc.  They often run up high post counts with little or no experience in the actual subject.

The best approach is to focus on constructive replies, acknowledge the polite ones, and ignore the rest.

On another note we did get our 180 automatic EAD extensions.  They are wonderful examples of bureaucratese.  I'll parse it in more detail when I have time, but I can see why some authorities (e.g. driver licensing) are reluctant to accept them.

I can't understand why the AP is not automatically extended in the same way - although you are right about the legalese on the EAD letter.  'This might count as an extension of your EAD if you have fulfilled these very vague requirements...'

You may still include it or mention financial loss. Just make sure that you state your case in a clear and concise manner. Alternatively, sometimes people mention financial loss to the Senator and not to USCIS. That approach has worked for many. The key is to submit a request that is logical and not cluttered with statements that do not fully support your claim.

Thank you. I will do that.

As you may know, there are different types of parole. To expedite, you would call the main USCIS number and explain that you are calling to expedite your advance parole application. I would limit it to "humanitarian reasons". Your daughter's illness. I would then present evidence of that when they request it.

The advance parole you would get via Infopass is Emergency Advance parole. You would bring the I-131 application filled out along with the $575 fee. Again, I would limit the reason to humanitarian reasons - your daughter's illness. The criteria is very specific and your father's birthday/financial hardship do not fall under any of the criteria. Including them would take away credibility from your daughter's illness.

I would start by calling USCIS and placing the request to expedite. You may also enlist the help of your Senator. Both are seeking re-election on November 6th. They will be more than happy to help you - I am sure.

Note: the best time to secure an Infopass appointment is right at midnight. I would enlist the help of your husband and use two computers or several computers and phones. Do not use chrome. Use firefox. I am not sure why it works best, but it does.

    All the best,

    USC4SPOUSE

Thank you so much for your very detailed and useful response.

i was going to include financial loss as it is one of the criteria listed on the USCIS website. I have contacted my daughter and asked her to request letters from her health professionals. Her doctors have not been very helpful in this regard but other health professionals she sees, might be.

Following your information I will cite my daughters illness as my reason to expedite and include evidence of the non-refundable tickets we have booked.

It's very possible that you may get your interview soon. A very reliable source told me that someone with PD 12-07-17 was recently scheduled for a mid November interview. Apparently, the field office has hired more staff and those new folks are interviewing cases already.

I do hope this is true. My PD is September 15th 2017 and when I applied, average wait time was 13 months. I can see People ahead of me and after me getting their cards and I am fretting now just hoping to have my AP renewed in time to see my family at Christmas. :(

  12. Infopass: has anyone successfully managed to get an infopass appointment? My AP expires on Dec 17th and I reapplied in early July but my EAD form was returned to me and I had to reapply so my receipt date for that is August 1st. I have flights booked for Dec 22nd to Jan 4th to go home - I haven’t seen my family since my wedding. My daughter has been ill (she is 21 And lives in Ireland) and my parents are flying from their home in Greece - it is my father’s 70th birthday on Dec 29th.

i thought I would have my GC interview around October/November this year going by processing times when I applied for AOS - but nothing yet.

I am going to try to expedite on financial and humanitarian grounds (cost of flights, cost of taking unpaid leave to travel next year if I can’t go at Christmas, daughters illness, father’s birthday).

How do I get an infopass appointment? They are booked for the next two weeks every time I check.

Thank you for any useful contributions.

don't lose faith there is still more than a month for the EAD to get there.

Maybe give them a call or make an appointment with your office to see if y ou could get a stamp of some sort?

There is an option to expedite if I can demonstrate that not getting the AP in time would cause financial hardship or humanitarian hardship. I did the math and on top of the cost of the flights ($1600) it would also cost me around $2000 to take unpaid leave to travel when my AP does come through (and the cost of the flights again / so an estimated $5000-$6000 in total.

My daughter has had some health issues and is likely to take it very badly if I can’t make it for Christmas - it would undoubtedly affect her health / but it would be a lot of hassle to get a doctors letter to that effect. I am hoping that gathering enough evidence will help get it expedited. I wonder how successful others have been / or if anyone else is in a similar situation? I am annoyed that my PD date is nearly two and a half weeks AFTER the date of receipt of my application. This buys USCIS more time. When I applied the first time, processing time was supposed to be 90 days so I was shocked to discover that it is now 4/6 months. I sent my application 5 months and three weeks ahead of my travel date - you would think that should be long enough?

thanks for your feedback. On another forum someone was just downright rude and told me I should have sent it sooner and that I had only given myself four months and that wasn’t enough time.

  14. Help!

I have an EAD/AP combo card which was issued on 12/17/17.  I have applied for a renewal and I have a received date of 07/13 for my AP and of 08/01 for my EAD (I had to resubmit).

My PD dates on my receipts are 08/01 for my AP and 08/13 for my EAD.  I have received my letter with the six month extension for my EAD but there is no automatic extension for my AP.

I am currently waiting for my Green Card interview (since AOS submitted September 2017).

I have a trip home booked to see my family - flying out on 12/22 and looking at current processing times for the EAD/AP I am now really worried that I won't be able to go.  I thought my GC interview would be Oct/Nov - but now it could be next year.  I renewed five months ahead of expiry to be sure that I would be safe - but that's not looking likely either now.  I haven't left the state since I arrived on 07/03/17 because of EAD/AP/money - and now I am working and have PTO booked and I am terrified I won't get my AP in time.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance!

I sent mine last Friday (27th of July) and I received two text messages at night: one at midnight on 1st of August on Wednesday, and another the morning of the 2nd of August. I have yet to receive the paper notifications (it is the 3rd of August now, so that makes sense). I sent it with USPS to the lockbox again as they said, and I got notice of receipt on Monday, so it took another 2 days for them to actually open the packages.

It's possible that they did not use that G145, and you are still waiting.

But I would definitely double check to see if you sent it to the Lockbox as you should have. It is not done by your local office

    Hey Moosy,

Thanks for the reply. Funnily enough I got my text and email receipt notifications whilst I was asleep last night - so it took much longer than expected - but I did get them. (Yes sent them to the lockbox). It took them 18 days after delivery to acknowledge receipt for me. At least they are in the right place and there in plenty of time. I am going to stop worrying now :)

  17. Has anyone applied for their EAD/AP renewal - and if so, how long did it take to receive your notice of receipt?

I sent mine a few weeks ago and it was delivered to Chicago on the 16th July - but I have had no text, no email or any notice in the mail yet (and I did include the ‘please let me know when you get this’ sheet - the G145 or something similar).

As I don’t have a notice of receipt for my package I can’t track it. I’m a bit worried that they have just chucked it in the bin. Surely I should have had a text or email by now?
