  1. Guys,

So I did a SR Today and I got a response that I did not show up for my biometrics and they will reschedule!!! OMG I did a walk in on AUGUST 19!!! Are you kidding me??

    This is what I got:

USCIS systems indicate that on 8/31/2016, USCIS requested that you appear at the Application Support Center (ASC) for biometrics processing associated with your case. It appears that you may have missed your appointment. Your application information has been re-entered into the system which schedules applicants for biometrics at their local ASC. Biometrics appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the ASC. Once you have been scheduled for an appointment, you will receive an ASC Appointment Notice to appear at a certain date and time at your local ASC. You must take the ASC Appointment Notice and photo ID to your appointment.

Before I did my walk in last week, the tier 2 on phone told me this situation (yours) might happen if you do a walk in instead of showing up at your scheduled time. But my bio was so late so I still did a early walk in last week. When I was in the office, I checked with the officer who did my bio and he said this won't happen. But anyways, USCIS is really confusing. Hopefully you will figure this out at your infopass and please keep us updated! Good luck!
  2. I went to my infopass today and got my biometric done there as a walk in, without the mail notice. Based on the tier 2 told me on phone, my biometric was scheduled on Nov.7th. The officer there printed out the biometric notice for me with the barcode, so I was able to get it done today. Also when I got home and I checked my case, my EAD shows new card is being produced. Not sure if it has anything to do with the infopass/biometric or it's just a coincidence. Because during the infopass I didn't emphasize my EAD, I was more interested in their green card interview timeline. Anyways, it's good to see the process! NOA 8/17 folks, cheer up and stay positive!! Best luck to everybody!

  3. Again, really happy for you. Still anxiously waiting for mine ?

Hang in there! You will get yours soon!

Again, really happy for you. Still anxiously waiting for mine ?

Hang in there! You will get yours soon!

    So happy for you!???

Thank you! I am sure you will get yours soon!

Did you get a notice in the mail for the biometrics?

No, I haven't got it yet. They emailed me yesterday and told me they just mailed it. And a tier 2 called me back and told me it's on Nov.7th. I will just do a ealry walk in.
  4. They finally scheduled my biometric appointment (NOA 8/17). However, my case is already at the local office. What I've heard from my lawyer was NBC won't transfer your case to the local office until your bio is done, and ready for the interview. But anyways, plan on a walk in bio this Friday and hopefully my case is at the local office already is a good thing!

Best luck on all other NOA 8/17 people, hang in there and you will get your bio soon!

  5. Sure!

My first mailed NOA was on August 20th. I didn't hear anything back from then.

So I decided to call them on 15th of September. At the first time, I just spoke to tier 1 representative who set a service request for the fingerprint.

She told me that it would take 15-30 days for them to respond.

I waited until the 30th (15 days after the inquiry), and I called again. But all I was told was to wait until full 30 days.

After 5 days, I tried again and this time I decided to talk to tier 2 officer. Somewhat I was able to talk to tier 2 rep, and he told me I should be getting the answer back in 5 days. I waited until yesterday and still no answer.

So I called again yesterday morning, and finally I was able to hear that my biometric date was set on Oct. 25.

In my opinion, at this point, your NOA date does not matter. You should keep calling and make them to take a look at your case. I'm sure they will help you.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Sure! Thank you for sharing!!
  6. So exactly a month after receiving my hard copies, my case just updated saying that on October 6th, (today) they couldn't deliver my notice... I don't get how could it get lost when the other 4 letters didn't before...

I think you should just call them and ask for speaking to a level 2. Let the level 2 tell you what the notice is. If it's the biometric appointment, just ask him/her to tell you which center to go. You can just go there with your receipt notice and explain to them what happened and they should find you in the system and get your bio done without problems. Then you can figure out why they couldn't deliver your notice with that level 2 as well.
  7. It is the same information... some people just prefer to do info pass over calling purely cause they prefer the face to face interaction vs over the phone... not everyone is close enough to there local office to just go there without it turning into a whole day road trip... the people you are initially put threw to on the phone when you put threw to a real person they can only see what you can see so they can only give you basic information but that's why I always advise to push to be transferred to a tier 2 since tier 2 can see what's happening in the background they are able to tell you more information or even are able to tell you if your appointment has been scheduled they can even sometimes are able to tell you the reason for the delay

Yeah, I totally agree with you! I will try to ask them to transfer me to a tier 2 tomorrow as well.
  8. To my knowledge nothing just keep calling and hoping for the best... you could make an infopass appointment and make a Service request in person but that does the exact same thing as calling and doing it over the phone or doing it online

Yeah, I think so too. I heard the information you got from an infopass appointment is actually the same if you talk to a tier 2 officer. I will call them tomorrow.
  9. You need your biometrics completed before they can process your EAD so uscis will not even process the EAD until biometrics has been done... reason being they need a picture to pr on your EAD card and they use the picture taken at your biometrics To put on the EAD card... they also need your fingerprints that they do at your biometrics to run your threw the FBI data bases before allowing you to work in the US.. your fingerprint is on the EAD card also which they get from the biometrics appointment

Thank you for sharing this info!

Do you know if there is anything else we can do to get our bio appointment at this point?

  10. I have been called them 3 times after I make the inquiry on Sep 26, none of them tell me about making decision by Oct 4th and they all tell me to wait for another 30 days - which is Oct 26th.

Because a lot of you guys are mentioning Oct 4th action, so I told that and they are still telling me to wait.

I really think because of the biometrics appointment, it will delay EAD card.

Yeah, I hate to admit that, but I also think the biometric appointment unscheduled will probably delay our EAD :(

I will keep you posted if I hear anything. I will try to call them tomorrow.

  11. No appointment today. We did open referral 2 weeks ago and when we call yesterday the gentleman we talked to said they are suppose to make a decision or action on it by Oct. 4. Until then he can not open another one. He was very helpful and patience.

Oh I notice you are in RockFord,IL . We are about an hour away in Montgomery,IL.

Hi, did you hear anything from USCIS today since it's 4th?

    No luck on my end.

Anybody know how can we find out which service center is dealing with our case now? Or are they still at the national benefit center?

    Thank you!

  12. So tomorrow will be 30 days since I got my hard copies and no bio appointment yet...

Could someone tell me where do I have to call and what will happen after that? Do I have to wait another 30 days?

All this process sucks... we don't deserve this for loving someone...

Just call 1 (800) 375-5283 then tell them it has been 30 days and you don't have your bio letter. Then they will make a inquiry for you and ask you to wait for another 30 days before giving them a call back. And yes, it sucks.

Let's not lose hope :) keep us posted!

My receipts came from lee summit MO but i live in Illinois.

I think that's the national center handling all the receipt before transferring to our local office. Mine is from there too I think.
  13. What do you mean that you "hear back"?

Are they going to call or email you? OR do they mean check your mailbox by 5th?

I think I will check the USCIS website to see if there is any further information on the 4th. I don't think they will call me. I do hope they will email me about the bio appointment if possible.

I will definitely call them tomorrow morning if I don't see anything today. Not sure if they are going to entertain me, but I have to try.. lol
