    1. If NVC only reviews the documents to be sent to NVC, I presume I can still carry the tax extension application and it's acknowledgement.
    2. Yes, I shall carry the 2016 W2, @JBMG also suggested the same.

Many Thanks for taking time to provide an input.

During my interview in Mumbai US consulate, I gave IRS approval for extension for filing (email from taxact) and W2 for 2016. The officer kept the W2 form but returned the filing extension approval email.

Wow that's super fast and so convinent, did you apply it on the iv process on that question?

Yes. I had selected 'Yes' in DS-260 Online Immigrant Visa and Alien registration form for the questions 'Do you want the Social Security Adminstration to issue a Social Security number and a card' and 'Do you authorize disclosure of information from this form to the Department of Homeland Security, the Social Security Administration and such other U.S. Government agencies as may be required for the purpose of assigning you SSN and issuing you a Social Security card ...,'

Do we have a link where I can get all the Do's and Dont's for the interview process? Thanks :)

My accountant said that he had couple of clients did it this way about 2 years ago and got declined that's why I was worried about it. He recommended me to apply for ITIN for my spouse just to be at the safe side but I took a risk of putting "NRA" under SSN.

So, I can say that putting NRA is not at all an issue.

Were you able to e-file with NRA in place of SSN/ITIN?

Small upd. Called NVC but they told "your case is current, just waiting for appointment date available". I don't know whom to beleive...

Depends on your country of birth. Pl look at the dates in visa bulletin in the following link:

    Another Question

I had the below question from my DS260. I know all of get checked before attending the interview and take the report along. But was curious to know if all of you have the same explanation.

Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?

I had marked "No" with the remark "Available vaccination records will be submitted at the time of medical"

@Tanish@Raag@amistry18...have you all submitted the docs to NVC in 2 packages?

Submitted the documents in one package with only one cover page (document cover sheet which was received with NVC welcome letter)

Can you please let us know which one of these is the right address for mailing the documents to the NVC. The letters from NVC has 2 different "Attn"  statements. What is the right thing to write?

    National Visa Center
    Attn. CMR
    31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100
    Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

    National Visa Center
    Attn. CMR AOS
    31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100
    Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

    Please see https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

This is the address to which I sent the AOS with financial documents and supporting documents.

    National Visa Center
    Attn: DR
    31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100
    Portsmouth, NH  03801-2914

I had used the document cover sheet received with NVC welcome letter.

  10. CEAC Visa Application status changed from In transit to Ready:

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://nvc.state.gov/interview

No. The one you sent was Document Cover-sheet, which is to be on top of both of your packages. "Document Cover Sheet"  also shows the order of documents.

AOS and IV Cover Sheets contain Bar-code  on them. Please follow the steps and see. If you receive the same Cover sheet, you may want to contact NVC.

I had sent document cover sheet (which has a bar code) only and got case complete.
