No one can really say for sure as each person's case is different. Also, it depends on how fast your field office is working on their cases and the officer handling your case.

To give you an example, my friend and I are from the same city and she filed March 2020. She still hasn't heard from our field office. Her biometrics was scheduled but canceled due to COVID. The field office closed in April and reopened in July. I filed in August 2020 and in September got a notice that they are reusing my bio just like you. A month and a week later (October 21), I got an email from USCIS saying that an action has been taken on my case and when I logged in my USCIS acct, it says that my interview has been scheduled for November 23. Nobody knows why mine is moving faster than hers. We can't be comparing cases because no two cases are the same. It is a puzzle we will never know the answer to.

But you know what I noticed? I personally never bothered checking my status all the time, not in any of the petitions we filed from K1 to AOS to ROC to N400 and all cases moved fast and smooth. I got approved before I even know it in each one of them. Maybe let your case move in its own pace and hopefully you get more updates soon. Good luck.

    thanks

  2. Hello everyone, I filled my N400 early August and have been expecting my biometric letter or interview and this exactly what I received today. Can anyone who fell in the same shoe with me enlighten me like how long should I be expecting for my interview mail.

I just had my interview and I have all the documents presented based on the email instruction but then the consular asked me about my fiance's Pay Stub which I couldn't provide (because I have no idea if it's also one of the required documents). And the consular gave me a white paper which stated "Request for further information, Immigrant Visa" and told me to send them the requested document as soon as possible to their email. I asked if my visa got approved or not because the paper said that it got refused due to incomplete information and they said that they gonna wait until I send them the additional information before they can decide. They haven't return my passport yet and it makes me even more confuse. Can someone explain?

They hold on to you passport bcos your visa will be issue once u provided your fiance pay stub....U dont have to worry just get the the pay stub.

  5. My 2 years GC expires on 10/18/2019 and i will be out of the country next week for 2 month to be back by July 31st.....I think my 90 days window open at 18th July if am not mistaking. Did he come here on a tourist Visa and knowingly get married and adjust status? Have they tried to adjust status yet? Normally using a divorce waiver would be ok but with a marriage of only one month it will be hard for your friend to prove it was a real relationship.

In order for him NOT to have it be an issue in future he needs to divorce as soon as possible and GO HOME before his tourist visa runs out and he overstays.

They hv not applied for adjust status yet....He said he has been here since last year and his visa has already expired n overstayed i think

Is your friend in the US? How did he get here?

A "cancel " of a marriage is called annul. If you get an annulment (cancelation) it's as though the marriage never took place so any immigrant Visa that took place would disappear.

They are generally very difficult to get though.

Thanks so much he got here on tourist visa and they met couple of months ago.....did marriage last month.....if the marriage cancel hope that wont affect him in future if he remarry?

My wife's visa expires in two days.  I sent the paperwork and it was delivered last friday via UPS tracking.  I do understand that when the paperwork is being processed she is legal.  My concern is does the check have to be cashed by then or just received?  This scenario just played out in my mind that she might be illegal if they haven't processed my check by the time her visa expires and I may have to send her home so she doesn't violate any laws.  Couldn't find anything concrete on these specifics and decided to seek an answer from the residential experts here.

    Thank you in advance.

U don't need to send her home if u guys had got married.....in couples of days u should receive ur NOA1

You can also signup for USPS Informed Delivery to see when it is expected to be delivered in your mailbox. It should appear there a few hours before it's physically delivered. Also be sure your mailbox has the beneficiary's name clearly labeled (even if they normally get mail there fine).

    http://id.usps.com

our timeline says the same.....i hope we get it soon.....
