I disagree with this. Rescheduling an appointment can sometimes take weeks or months until a spot opens up again. If flights, hotels, etc, have been booked it's even worse. You can refill the DS-160 and bring BOTH confirmation pages with you. Marking down which one is the old one is extremely easy to do.

Don't book another appointment because you can't find a pen to write with.

Also, depending on what the mistake (or missed information) is on the DS-160, it might not even be worth filling it out again anyway. Sometimes it's easier to explain this at the interview than to worry about wording.

Peot u might be right but i think they gonna accept 2 DS160 from him and if the barcode are totally different to what he/her has on his appointment....if he goes with the new Ds160 n first one he filled am sure they gonna accept the one has made a mistakes to interview him...anyway i hope it works for him/her well

Thank you guys I really appreciate all of your contribution may God help us all.  My husband call immigration today and they told him they just received his application yesterday I believe the local USCIS  i guess.they said that if he did not hear from them by August 6th that he can call then. I pray they send his EAD before then. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL.

u n ur husband can go back to SSN office with your husband passport and copy of i-797 NOA1 of AOS and his birth certificate....i guess that will get him SSN Card since I-94 expired.

    Good luck

Washington, NJ DMV. She took her Intl License, SS card, marriage license, her I94, and a bill that i put in her name. You can use the DMV to see which of your documents will total the 6 points.

After the written exam they told my wife she could take the driving test when she receives her EAD/AP card. But my wife's Green Card arrived only one week after the EAD/ AP card so she used that.

If your I94 has expired and you still haven't received you EAD or GC then that may be another problem.

oh ok i got it now.......my I-94 has already expired and i showed I-797 from NOA...now i understand

Drivers licenses are issued at state level, and each state has its own documentary requirements, so you can't compare experiences without knowing what state the person resides in. Because you can board airlines and open bank accounts with your drivers license, the requirements are strict. Perhaps you'll find NJ's online document selector with its 6-point ID verification help, linked below, useful. Follow the requirements to the letter and you'll be fine.

Thanks i did that already before going and i see  made more than 6 point ID

The difference is not only at a state level but there are differences between DMV's themselves.

My wife and I have experience dealing with NJ DMV and I can tell you that I understand. It took 3 tries. The first DMV simply would not take any documents other than the Green Card itself. So one day I decided to try another DMV. It was bit of a ways away but they at least let her take the written exam. She was able to take the driving test only after her EAD/AP (they didn't require the actual Green Card) was approved. It is one of the downfalls of doing the K1 visa... you are constantly in limbo.

    Good luck and remember, YMMV.

where exactly did she took er written text and what did she submited before she was allowed to took the test ....maybe i can give a try once more... Thankinmg you in Advance

It can be quite difficult to obtain a drivers license without a work permit or green card. I tried it myself, it took them almost three months to verify me completely. NOA1 shows an authorized stay, but not all DMV's accept them as proof. You'll have to wait for either your work permit or green card and return.

@dutchster Thanks for your reply anyway.....i hv seen alots of pple getting lincense with their I-94 and SSN with their passport and I-797 NOA ...

  8. Today is my 3rd time going to NJ MVC to obtain my drivers license. First time to obtain my lincense international drivers licence irs not recognised that i need paper one not plastics....second time i was told i need to have a NOA1 to states my status still my I-94 expires in couples of days...Finally i went today with my passport, SSN, NOA1 of AOS, Medical Insurance, Wedding Certificate......still they turned me down by saying that does not show my legal status...as snyone done is drivers lincence here in NJ

When is gonna be your interview for aos? Can you request a copy of your birth certificate? I think I sent my husband 's copy of his birth certificate for aos but probably you would be fine with the passport only.

Hi, just an update... Got a notification from USCIS via text on May 23 at 9:50PM that they have received my packet. :) I sent the packet May 11 (Thursday), and was delivered successfully to the Chicago Lockbox (I checked via USPS tracking) on May 13.
