I have a question. But before i get into that, i must give a brief description of my situation. I was in school all the way until December 2006..(including graduate School). Because of that my income taxes are well below the level. this year i have been applying for jobs...I will get something in March of 2007. WIll the acceptance letter be sufficient??

i was wondering if we can file the I-485 under the married name whereas the passport and K1 visa would be in the unmarried name...would that be okay??

The one where i have a question is, who do we contact in terms of officating the ceremony, and can we do it without her having SSN?? I would like her to get her SSN once with her married name.

My fiancee currently lives in india. She is coming here next month, under the K1 Visa. After she arrives here, i am thinking of giving her the handbook so that she can prepare for the learner's permit. When we go to the DMV, what forms of identification does she need??

My fiance is thinking of flying to dallas all by herself. I was wondering what the POE is like there?? Is it manageable?? Do you think it is "allowed" if she arrives a month before the visa actually expires?? She could not come before then, because of school...and then her brother getting married...

It is important to keep track of the different "clocks". The visa is valid for six months from the date of issuance and must be activated before expiration. The visa is activated at the POE into the US. Once the visa has been activated then the "clock" resets and the 90 days to marry clock begins.

I understand that. Is there any difference in terms of arriving into US immediately after she gets the visa stamped, or few days before the stamp expire...??

My fiancee got her visa stamped a month ago..now is currently waiting to buy a ticket to come to usa. This is going to be her first trip outside of her country. I am debating whether to go there , and come back with her?? or let her do it on her own? if i were to go, once we arrive in POE, can i go into her line??

There is a new law in india, that after any religious wedding, it is mandatory for a registered marriage to happen to "make it official". Because of this new development, I understood it has that we can have a religious wedding in india, before getting K1 visa. Since religious weddings are now considered as being not legal. Now my fiance has gotten her K1 visa. Can we go back and get that done??

This morning, i got a call from fiancee. She has told me that she just got out of her visa interview, and was told that she will getting her passport with a visa stamp in a week.

I got a call from my fiance yesterday. She told me that she has a visa interview for sept 19th, in Chennai. When i saw her a few days ago, i have given her an affadavit of support. Are there any other documents that i would need to send to her???

Touched on 7/13, since they received the RFE. they had got on friday, itself. Today i got touched again..Does any body what that email means when it says that some prelim processing?

I got touched today as well. I got noticed that they have received my RFE. In the email they said that they did some prelim processing, and as a result it would be sooner than expected..what ever that means. i also spoke with the customer service agent. He said that they start processing the file as soon as they receive the RFE....

What i find to be even more suprising or frustrating for that matter..is how people who mailed their application after we did, to VSC, and now are getting their NOA2. it is totally unfair.

Has anyone able to get hold of someone at CSC?? If so what number did u use...??

Did you ever get your RFE?? I know that you have stated before u left that u have not gotten it..just want to check up on that.

FINALLY today I got it - July 10. I have no explanation for why it took so long - it was dated June 29 but clearly they did not send it out then. Anyway, thanks for your concern! I'll be reading through how everyone else sent theirs back - It looks like check the box NO and leave the other two blank, sign it, etc and fed ex with the blue sheet on top. Hope that's right. Then tomorrow I'll be talking to the senator's office again to try to find out how much longer I'll be waiting!

WOW!! that was a long wait. Where did u meet your fiance from?? If you do nto mind me asking...Yeah i think you are right about those. You have to send it with blue paper on top. I do not know how long it would take..But once u find out, will u let me know? I mailed mine out on July 5th..it arrived in California on friday. Still i have not heard from them

I have sent mine last week...after the holiday. I had it tracked..According to USPS that it was delivered on friday. How long does it take for u to hear from them??

Man ! i did not get touched today....I sent my RFE last week..they had received it on Friday. When i call them, now we cant' even get to customer service agent...Did anyone get hold of somone?? I want to make sure if they received it.

That is funny! i am not sure how anyone can get touched today. For one, they are government employees and i bet that they are not even at work today. Heck, today you are not even allowed to reach them over the phone.

Not me!...I was touched for 4 out of the 6 days...They recieved my RFE yesterday.

Man you Vermont people don't know how luck you are! You weren't touched today boohoo!!

Spare a thought for those of us at CSC coming up to the 120 day mark!

I agree. today i did not get touched. Maybe they will work this weekend...or maybe it is wishful thinking. i got touched every day this week except for today. I enjoyed being touched. I am going back to meet my fiance in 3 weeks....

I have not gotten mine yet..I am probably few days after you..Will they work based on when they received the RFE or based on our original dates??

I sent back my RFE on the 07/05/06...i sent it via Priority Mail...I just checked the Postal service website...It arrived in Laguna Niguel. how long does it take for them to process it..???
