  1. Attached please find information from the USCIS dated June 13, 2006 regarding recent changes and delays with Fiancée Visas petitions

If you have already filed a Fiancée or Spousal Visa petition with the USCIS you will receiving a questionnaire soon for you to complete and mail back to the USCIS. The questions are related to domestic violence and criminal convictions.

If you have already filed after 3/6/06 there is nothing to do but wait until you receive the questionnaire and complete it and return to the USCIS for processing. If you have not filed please use the attached new I-129F.

If you have additional questions you may call the USCIS at 800-375-5283 and push the following at the voice prompts – 1, 3, 4, 9.

Cherry Blossoms, Inc. is not a Marriage Broker and to our knowledge none of our clients use a Marriage Broker so the answer on the I-129F or Questionaire is that you have not used a Marriage Broker.

    Aloha

    CB Staff

BE CAREFUL! I also met my fiancee through this site. I got the same response from CB that they are not an IMB. I consulted an immigration attorney soon after and he explained why CHERRY BLOSSOMS IS CONSIDERED AND IMB under the law. He advised me to answer yes to the question and also advised that since we met prior to the law going in to affect not to worry about it.

Just wondering… what are you guys going to do if the USCIS asks Cherry Blossoms if they delivered the IMBRA-required information to your fiancé, and then Cherry Blossoms says that they have not?

Or what if any couple met two years ago on a dating site, which today, no longer has their correct contact information? How in the world is the dating site supposed to be able to say that they have met the requirements of IMBRA?

I think regardless of what the sites say that they are IMBRA compliant. I think we should take that information with a grain of salt. I think we should still say that we did use a marriage broker, according to IMBRA regulations.

  2. WOW! all of these dating sites are considered IMB. it is not news to me..I saw it in the IMBRA law, and it clearly states that any paying company that provides services for dating, matrimonial , and acting as a medium between two individuals to communicate are considered IMB. Regardless of the purpose, including pen pals, or dating or etc..should be considered as IMB. however, i think this legal issue is only the problem with US government. Once our paperwork gets sent over to the respective abroad embrassy they can care less about it. I know that we have to be honest and etc...but my question for each one of you is how would they know where we met our significant other??

  3. One of the exceptions to the rule, is that those companies that are linked by culture or religion are exempt from the IMBRA. As a result, most of these international sites, such as in the Phillipines, bharatmatrimony...and etc...should be exempt. what is ur thoughts?

  4. I am confused about this marriage broker thing. I am not sure what i would put for that. I read the IMBRA requirements, and it says it is considered for any paying service that provides services for dating, matrimonial and etc. That would affect most of people because of arrival of such sites as Match.com. I met from my fiance from a site that is culturely....However that site is not just for US citizens..It includes applicants from Australia, Britain, and as well from USA. What would i answer??

  5. Hello,

I have a question for the RFE, when it talks about the marriage broker. I met my fiance through an indian matchmaking service online (where i paid). This matchmaking service is similar to Match.com. I was wondering what i would put for the marriage broker question.

  6. Thank you Kit-Kat

Maybe it was automatically transferred to California Service Center, without the transfer notice. When i submitted the form, I do not remember filling it out about the IMBRA stuff. I guess that they did not update their webpage.

In order to speed the process, i think they should have to form for the IMBRA online, and those who did not submit it, to send it in.

When is the average time between NOA1 and NOA2??
