sparker42 reacted to bradoony in [I-944] Obtaining my IRS tax transcripts is currently IMPOSSIBLE?
We were in the same exact situation. I was waiting on my credit card and then one more moth to past so they can verify me.( If you get a credit card, It will take you about an month to show in the system ) But there is other thing - After they verify the identity with the credit card, the ask for a phone number which is connected to your name. If you do not have that, you cant get transcript as well. We just send ours 1040"s and W2"s and letter explaining how we cant get the transcript and evidence. So you have an option to wait for the credit card or just do the same. I do not think is a big deal since you are providing your 1040 and W2. It serves the same purposes and due to the COVID they would probably understand the situation. If they do not, they will send you RFE to provide the transcript. Work on getting it ready and If you send it right away after you receive RFE it will now slow your process.

I'm sure everything is fine and your wife's GC will be in her hands soon enough. Any plans for citizenship though? They're just suuuuper backed up with I-751's. I have to file mine this time next year and am not looking forward to it because I expect processing times to be worse by then. The only way the backlog will be fixed will be through some miracle.

Fire your attorney.
If you have filed an I-751, your status is automatically extended until approval, or, in the case of denial, a final order of removal by a judge.
When the initial one year extension expires, your status does NOT expire - only the proof of it, which is the purpose of the stamp, and there is no requirement to obtain a stamp. It is sensible to, but there is no requirement to do so.
Doesn't matter if you have a 10yr card, 2yr card, I-797C extension letter, or an I-551 stamp - they are all proof of status and not the status itself.

sparker42 reacted to A'n'L in affidavit of support question
You will both file the i864. You as the main sponsor (petitioner), your mother as the joint sponsor. None of you should use the i864a. That one is used only if you were combining income of people in the same household (although you live together, you and your mom are not in the same "financial" household since you are not a dependent on her taxes, and you file your own taxes). Both of you should append the requested supporting docs (your mother to show that she CAN support your husband, you to show that your income is insufficient - validating the use of a joint sponsor).
