Sorry, one more thing, my favorite quote from USCIS in their guidance to employers handbook is 11.4 Avoiding Discrimination in Recruiting, Hiring, and the Form I-9 Process.....
 
Employers should not:
 
Request that an employee who presented an unexpired Permanent Resident Card present a new document when the Permanent Resident Card expires.  
 

Ok, provided you showed your employer your green card previously as part of the I9 verification process, they should not be asking for it again even though it's about to expire. Your employer should only need to re-verify EADs when they expire. Below are excerpts from the USCIS website! To be fair most employers just don't know!
 
EMPLOYERS SHOULD NOT REVERIFY:
U.S. citizens and noncitizen nationals Lawful permanent residents who presented a Form I-551, Permanent Resident or Alien Registration Receipt card for Section 2. This includes conditional residents.  
Note: Reverification is never required for U.S. citizens and noncitizen nationals. Do not reverify the following documents after they expire: U.S. passports, U.S. passport cards, Alien Registration Receipt Cards/Permanent Resident Cards (Form I-551), and List B documents.

If your green card has not expired you can not ask for an appointment to stamp passport, it is recommended that you only make the appointment for a week before the green card expires, I have not received the case  letter received , the only thing I received was letter for the fingerprints appointment, I am also waiting for my extension, because my GC expires in February and I need it in my work. tomorrow I will call again to see what they tell me

I sent out papers for my wife in the last days of December,
December 25th I think. I was delivered in two days, and on
January 2nd received email and txt msg that our case was accepted and they'll send us a letter within 7-10 days. Check was also cashed.
I called USCIS before, and just talked to them again because we haven't received that letter yet. It's been exactly three weeks now.
The guy I spoke with said he will send a request for an extension letter that we should receive in 30 days (used to be ~15 he said).
If we don't receive anything within that time, we should call back again to make an appointment to USCIS office to stamp the passport (for extension).
 
 
We still have plenty of time left till expiration, but hopefully we get that letter before green card expires.
 
Update: Forgot to mention, our case number does not work on the website, says it does not recognize the number entered. Was told that also may take up to 30+ days

I received no letter of receipt, only letter for fingerprints

So far didn't hear anything from Missouri service center.. only text that they got my case.. no biometric or extension...

Yes, filed at CSC. No Bio needed too. 
No changes on my online account until now. Yet we received the approval notice. 
biometrics for N400 will be this Friday. Hopefully interview soon too. 

Cheque is cashed today, now waiting on extension letter

I sent out my package on the 16th of January 2019. Uscis received it on the 18th.  Uscis charged my credit card earlier this morning jan 22nd 2018 . I then later received my case number via text messages starting with "EAC". I believe that's Vermont service center.. let the waiting game begins.  🙂

It's the same with me. my package was received on December 24, yesterday January 19 I got the letter of prints for February 1. I have not received the letter of warning and I have not received an extension letter

Are you able to track your case online. I can’t 

yes, sometimes yes and sometimes they do not use the prints, but each case is different

To my knowledge they will send receipt notice first and then biometrics. Means they accepted case and now they want fingerprints. So you may want to check may be they just didn’t dispatch it like they did for me. My notice states that they will send biometrics appointment latter only if needed

I was the first, on this group, to have a biometrics completed.

OMG!!! Just checked my status...it says my card was mailed to me!!! NOA1 Jan 31st 2018. Hopefully will receive my card soon. Case#180855. I was at CSC.
