I am about to submit an I-130 to bring my (PR) wife's daughter from the Philippines to the USA.
Can anyone tell me the average length of time from start to finish to get my step-daughter here?

Venus201320,
We started out in California and then at some point we were transfered to the Nebraska office.
The only thing I can suggest to all filers is to READ READ READ the instructions and
FOLLOW the instructions to the letter; submitting EXACTLY what they want.

We received an I-797 NOA stating Congratulations, that we were approved in one envelope and in the second envelope was the actual Permanent Resident (Green) Card.

I was worried about this happening so, I made a copy and the copy is what my wife carries with her on a daily basis, along with her green card, and the original is put away in a safe place.
If she travels then of course the original will be used.

NuestraUnion and hixsy,
Thank you for your responses; they ease the anxiety and wait.

Wow....125 looks and no responses either positive or negative.
Now I'm getting worried.

We just sent in our i751 package for a November 2 year mark.
Would love any responses, but the "check" is already in the mail.
Thanks in advance...

Well it looks like the consensus here is to leave the text messages out; so I will do so.
Thank you everyone for your responses and ideas. I really appreciate your insight.

Yeah you probably won't need that for the ROC, but depending on what Samsung phones you have you can just take a few screenshots here and there and print. They really don't need 3 years of texting back and forth..
On most Samsung smartphones you just swipe the side of your palm from left to right across the screen. Or you press the on/off key and the big main key at the same time.
Tried that and it didn't work.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Im so confused as to why you are wanting to submit text messages for ROC package? All that is required if proof of co-mingling finances for the duration of your marriage. Things to include may be:
- Joint lease/mortgage
- Joint tax returns
- Joint bank/savings account
- Joint health insurance
- Joint car insurance policies
- Joint Car note
- Life insurance policies and so forth
Where did you read or find information stating texts were required for ROC?
Thank you for your reply.
I have most of those that you have listed and will be submitting them.
I never said the text messages were REQUIRED, I just wish to submit a few and am asking for help in printing them out.

What model of samsung do you have? A few years ago I had an old one and I was able to do screenshot.
SM-G360HU
Also, when you download the screenshots from your phone to your PC, they will be as JPG file so you can put several ones in 1 page. I remember I used microsoft word for that. I put a couple screenshots of texts per page.
OK so where and how do I download these screenshots??
NancyNguyen
Fact is you don't need texts or calls history for I-751. Focus on real stuffs like finances, insurances, motrage... we didn't even send pics on my i751 back then.
Thank you Nancy,
I have all of those financials already. So even though that I may not NEED to, I want to add some additional stuff. I just don’t know how to access the information which is why I am asking for some help.

Thanks for the reply Sunnyland,
We don't have screenshot capability on our phones, but if we did, that would only give us one page at a time.

My wife and I are firm believers in getting things started early and not waiting until the last minute panic.
BUT we have a problem and that is that neither of us are Techies.
Can anyone tell us how to print out our text messages from our cell phones so we can add to our ROC package??
We both have Samsung phones.
Thank you in advance.

I expect that one of the things that will be felt immediately will be an extension of time to complete the process.
First due to extra vetting of the individuals coming into the USA. I expect that President Trump will ask for additional security checks for every applicant.
The second delay I think may happen might be caused by a huge increase of applicants trying to get in before any changes to the US immigration policies may take effect.
Of course only time will tell...after all how long has Mr. Trump been President??????

I was asked about Domicile during our interview at the Manila Embassy.
I had my Driver's License on me plus proof of address and banking in the US along with proof for the reason for my return to the USA.
As I was about to pull out all this evidence after informing the interviewer I had this info on me, he stopped me and said thank you...I have already approved you.

The only thing I can see being a problem is that she came in to the UK on a fiancee visa which was valid for 6 months, we filed for Further Leave To Remain before it expired and received a letter confirming that was in process, she is not classed as overstaying in the eyes of the UK government, but there is no up-to-date stamp in her passport at the moment. In fact, the passports are with UK Visas and Immigration at this moment in time.
I was just about to post how easy the DCF process was for us until I read this....It would have been nice to know all this BEFORE I read through these 2 pages.
Now I no idea what to tell you.
Good luck

I just told my Filipina wife about your situation and she said that the best thing to do is just move on; that you have completed your mission and have rescued her out of her bad situation and gave her the tools she needed to start a new and better life for herself.
Now is the time for you to take care of YOURSELF.

From what I understand is no matter how genuine your relationship is, it all boils down to 'marketing' it. A relationship is indeed spontaneous in nature, but to convince the other party you have to put it down like an exact science-be calculating and decisive, all for the intention of making your relationship look good on paper....so there's no fabrication of detail but you make your case enticing, or structure the flow of the relationship as close to ideal.
Think press release and all that good stuff.
I remember what my teacher told me before; "The right or wrong answer in an exam does not count as much as what the examiner thinks is right."
***sleepy me
Absolutely agree about you having to market your relationship...just like the marketing expert Elmer Wheeler stated in 1937.....“Don’t Sell the Steak — Sell the Sizzle!”

I am a 100% P&T disabled Vietnam Vet also collecting Social Security and can tell you positively that the information received was false.
We used my income (VA and SS) alone and qualified well above the 125% poverty level for my wife's visa.
We will be arriving in the USA in November.
Good luck with your case and thank you for your service.

Thank you for your response.
More info will be needed..
1) daughters age at time of marriage, current age and current marital status
She was 10 when we were married and is currently 15 yrs old and still single
2) was daughter listed on wife’s i130 application
Daughter’s info was listed on my wife’s original I-130 and on her original DS-260 with the following questions answered as follows:

Is this child immigrating to the U.S. at a later date to join you? NO
Also during our interview we informed the officer that we would bring her daughter into the USA at a later date and we are now ready to bring her into the US.
