  1. I sent my packages on the 12th and arrived at NVC on July 15th too. I called today at 8 am and the operator told me that my documents haven't been scanned yet :( Hope everything is well. I see you sent your documents later than me and already have a scan date but guess every country is different right? Mexico has a lot of petitions :/

You can call them and confirm. I hope your scan date is July 15th. Some people get email confirmation.

I have seen people from Mexico getting CC within a week or two. So don't worry :) Hope you get your CC soon.

  2. Just wondering....the average scan date time is also based on the processing center? Do some processing centers complete paperwork sooner than others? From just browsing around, that's what it looked like. I'm through Potomac... Scan date June 16. Hoping to hear any day now! Please not another checklist and 30 day wait. Although I do have to say, had I been on this website beforehand I most likely would not have gotten a checklist. I thought the 2 missing documents were something he could take to the interview. Said that to say, for newcomers browsing on the threads, browse the website and make sure all of you documents are in order. Love this website!

FYI... The 2 missing documents were his birth certificate and police report. I thought I read somewhere that someone was checklisted for not sending the back of the documents as well. I didn't send the back because it was blank. So that's why I'm so nervous. I'm praying all is well this go 'round.

Average Scan date to CC time is not based on a service center. It is been taking 30 - 35 days to get CC for mail processing. Even I am from Potomac and it took me 32 days to get a CC.

Hope you get your CC soon ??

  3. Sent IV packet NVC they received Friday and told me it was scanned into their system today 7/18 , Operator told me to expect 6 weeks for review. Is there a spread sheet to follow others journey through the NVC or time line?

It usually takes 30-32 days for CC recently. You can use this scan date to CC spread sheet shared by grad_student for an estimate: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bLgqeV5tr9zHOSY5IqtYn3RURVO3C0iMBGVwUviVruk/edit#gid=0

  4. Do i need to take the copy of my cancelled passport too?

I am not sure about the copy, but you do need to take your old passport. In the appointment package it does state: "Bring your current passport and all former or expired passports. Your current passport must be valid for at least eight months from the date of your interview and should reflect your correct name and date of birth."

I am planning to take a copy of old passport too, just in case.

  5. What are the 3 N/As?

Should I keep my eyes peeled on the CEAC website for this? I saw on other forums that the N/A will show up in place of the 'PAID' where the AOS fee is?

How long has the wait been for Electronic Processing for everyone?

Yes N/A will show up in the place of the 'Paid' for AOS fee.

From what I have seen, electronic processing is more quicker than mail processing. You can check this Scan date to CC spread sheet for an estimate :

  6. Thank you! :)

I am wondering if that 2 weeks is after NOA2 as Saylin suggested or after NVC receives the case. Plus I am leaving to visit my husband in August, I am wondering that after all of the case is assigned, how long it takes for other steps to happen. How long it took for most of you guys? I want to take care of everything before I leave, especially the part about sending the AOS and IV packages. Anyone would like to shed light on this?

It takes 2 weeks from the date NVC received your documents. Once you receive your case number you will have to be proactive.

First step will be DS-261 and paying AOS fee which might take up to 1- 2 days. Once you pay your AOS fee, you can send your AOS and IV package to NVC.

  7. Hello,

I am new to this thread but I am hoping someone can help me with this question I have. I called NVC to ask a question regarding AOS, I happened to find out that they received my case on July 13 (yesterday) and they said 2 weeks before it is assigned. Here's my question, should I call the NVC at least once a week or daily? and also should I do the automated response to find out if a case number has been assigned? Saylin's wiki is helpful but it is not specific to what I am asking. I am confused about the automated response.

    thanks

    rooj

I would suggest you to call them everyday at the end of 2 weeks. It does take up to 2 weeks to get a case number and IIN.

But if you want to call them once a week go ahead. It doesn't hurt. Good luck! :)

  8. Thank you! The wait was longer than expected, but better late than never ;)

Yeah I agree. One more step closer to the end of the process. Hope you get your interview date soon. :)

Also saw 3 N/A just now, called the NVC and they confirmed Case Complete status! Scan date was June 14th, CC is July 14th. Now just gotta wait for the Interview Date to be set. They said they'll email me.

    Congratulations!!!
