Like I said, there are two recent cases of involuntary loss of Brazilian citizenship. The one you are mentioning is the infamous Hoerig Case. The article I sent seemed to suggest that the decision in this case could not necessarily be extrapolated. However, the article also mentions the case of an Oracle executive from Colorado that seemed to be a pretty law abiding citizen to me and that lost the Brazilian citizenship upon sending a request to the Brazilian attorney general for changing the spelling of her name in Brazil (most likely because she changed her name upon naturalization in the U.S.). If you read Portuguese, click on the first link below, scroll all the way to pages 18-23 ("MANDADO DE SEGURANÇA N. 20.200"). This is a court injunction in which the beneficiary was granted relieve. Upon that court decision, the Brazilian minister of justice was forced to revoke the decree of Brazilian nationality loss but appealed to the Brazilian supreme court. The case is now in the hands of a justice that is taking care of a lot of corruption cases especially in light of the upcoming Brazilian elections next year (Edson Fachin) and therefore we are not going to see any final interpretation of the constitutional requirements invoked by the Brazilian minister of justice and that can be used as jurisprudence going forward anytime soon:

My take on this is, the Brazilian government is able to administratively revoke the Brazilian citizenship of anybody that naturalized U.S. citizen, which is a pretty simple process but it can still be legally challenged, if you have the money to fight the battle on the Brazilian supreme court. If you don’t or if you lose, you will have to live in Brazil for at least two years to regain the citizenship and you will have to have attorneys working on that for you. However, in my opinion, Brazil will never have the resources or the willingness to revoke the Brazilian citizenship of the millions of Brazilians that already naturalized U.S. citizens nor the thousands that do so every year. But if they have the opportunity to do so without moving a lot of resources, for whatever reason or no reason, they may.

My local office received my RFE in 06/06/2016.
My on-line status was update in 07/13/2016.
Therefore, my RFE took 37 days to be finished.

I know that waiting for answer is not exactly a good feeling, so I am leaving this message for everyone who is waiting....

Though we live in a fallen world where we experience pain and disappointment, the Lord can move us from despair to rejoicing, as we see in Isaiah’s prophecy about the coming of Jesus (Isa. 61:1-3).

The Lord gives us hope when we feel hopeless; He helps us to forgive when we think we can’t; He teaches us that our identity is in Him and not in what we do. He gives us courage to face an unknown future. When we wear the rags of “ashes,” He gently gives us a coat of praise.

God can bring times of growth out of our times of heartache.

God bless everyone to go through this process....

Agreed -- unless "certified" or "notarized" copies were specified, just send regular photocopies.

If the RFE didn't specifically ask for certified copied, then send them the regular copies. Im not sure you can get a certified copy of those documents, may have the copy of the passport notarized. for the bank statements, you can just print them from online or stop by the bank. In my case, when I applied for the adjustment of status, I sent in regular copies of my passport and printed the statements from the bank website and mailed them. I hope this helps

In fact, Orange County (Santa Ana) and LA have naturalization ceremony together, except June.
There is a ceremony every month with huge amount of applicants.

I would trust the person at the library to be more careful and pay more attention. If you are paying for expedite then they would be obligated to take it to the post office I guess.
I did mine through the clerk of court office at the title bureau. That would have been similar to dealing with a library. They got mine out right away.

If you have a certificate of Naturalization/Citizenship, keep it carefully to avoid lost or damaged. And if it is extremely necessary to apply for Certificate of Citizenship for your minors, apply it now OR apply for a U.S Passport instead. Full schedule had been attached. You can read it if interest. PROPOSED FEES BY IMMIGRATION BENEFIT.pdf

No change in the inquiry status, but that doesn't mean that it didn't help... they don't always update these things.
I mean, there are some people whose status never changes after "an interview has been scheduled" even after they become citizens.
But back to the inquiry, I don't know if it helped or not, but it didn't hurt!

I had my interview in march at Santa Ana, and I am waiting for my oath letter too.
I did not ask to IO about how long I have to wait for the letter.
But, I did a little research on VisaJourney, and the result are (Santa Ana):
    Filers in May 2015
    09/01/2015 (interview) - 09/22/15 (oath)
    Filers in June 2015
    09/02/2015 (interview) - 09/22/15 (oath)
    09/02/2015 (interview) - 09/22/15 (oath)
    09/02/2015 (interview) - 12/16/15 (oath) - long one!
    Filers in September 2015
    01/06/2016 (interview) - 01/20/16 (oath)
    Filers in October 2015
    02/19/2016 (interview) - 03/16/16 (oath)
There are more cases in January 2016 and March 2016 from Santa Ana;however, they are still in interview stage.
