I called Services Center; Callers in the United States: Call +1 703 520 2239. And they said I can do Bio metric and Medical in Delhi and then can do Interview in Mumbai, I dont have to go to Mumbai for Biometric and Medical Test. Panel list of Delhi are there  https://in.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/71/Panel-physicianJan-2018.pdf

    Thanks,
    N

Better to confirm from US Embassy in Mumbai coz we got a different answer from the ultra docs customer service. They stated that we should check with Mumbai if they will accept medical from Delhi or not. Biometrics can be done in Delhi irrespective of the interview location. Biometrics hardly takes few minutes so if we have to go to Mumbai for medical then we will prefer to get my biometrics done in Mumbai itself .

    Hi CareIsh,

Did you call the call center and ask them or did you check with Embassy? not getting any proper direction, still waiting a reply from them on my email.

    Best,

    N

My wife just emailed the Embassy so let's see what they gonna say. It's so hectic for us to make separate trips to Mumbai but we have no other choice than to go to Rele clinic (Mumbai)

    Hi All,

Just wondering if any of you have similar situation, my mother visa is IR5 (Parent of US Citizen) and she is based in New Delhi, but NVC has schedule her interview in MUMBAI (BOMBAY) in last week of March 2018, and now the question is can she do medical examination with an approved panel physician in New DELHI (MAX – Lajpat Nagar) or she has to visit Mumbai (Rele Clinic) for medical also.

Please advise if anyone of you have similar situation

    Thanks,
    N

We are in the same situation. I live in Delhi and wondering if it's ok to go to Delhi Max or I have to make a trip to Mumbai. We also looking forward to some clarity on it.

    •  We asked RapidVisa, the company online we use to do our paperwork, I asked this same question about medical done at Delhi due to my spouse living in Delhi. The answer they gave me was, " In this case, since it is with the Mumbai US Embassy, the VAS appointment for the Biometrics would need to be completed on the same Embassy. You can request for this to be done in a different location though but from experience, it would be required by the Embassy themselves that this gets completed with them."

USCIS just sent our case to NVC last week, but I did talk to the NVC about this on going concern about change from Delhi to Mumbai. She stated that from Feb 15th they consolidated cases and everyone is going to Mumbai. I would recommend you to inquire about the medical exam as well. Since you are from Chandigarh and can get it done in Max Hospital Mohali, but Mumbai embassy has different places for medical exams than Delhi embassy.

I never thought it matters at which city you getting your medicals done as far as it is it's Max hospital? Or does it matter if I take my Medicals in Delhi Max hospital and not Mumbai? I just don't want two separate trips to Mumbai unless they accept medical only from Mumbai Max if the interview is at US embassy Mumbai. Any inputs ?

I also received an e-mail on 2/15/18 that our case changed from NWD (New Delhi) to BMB (Mumbai) consulate.

I called NVC and they basically said that around 2/15, New Delhi stopped processing ALL immigration visas and that all immigration visas will be processed in the Bombay consulate.

It's possible that the Mumbai (BMB) consulate will be busier than usual resulting in longer wait to schedule appointments.

    NVC's phone number is 1-603-334-0700.

    - Press 1 for english, and then

    - Press 3 to talk to the operator

That means now we to wait longer for the interview now since all the cases now being transferred to Mumbai gosh. Also last month we have received an RFE from NVC to submit my birth certificate which we have already sent them two weeks ago but on the website it's showing the same message of RFE. So how to confirm if they have received ? Shall we call the NVC and check with them or just wait for the email from them that our case is ready now?

  6. Thanks Nelma..Yes this is what I read about K1 visa but ours is CR1 so we are confused as is it a normal for them to transfer or it's just with us. I'll try to call embassy as you guided and also will email ultradocs as we have no clue why they changed from New Delhi to Mumbai. I was wondering if someone has been in similiar situation as us. Thanks and good luck to you !

  7. From the personal experience at US embassy New Delhi I can tell you that they will call your mother to verify your relationship. They will ask you if you have brought your phone to the embassy and if it is the locker box . If you say yes they will take your phone and call all your phone contacts. Yes sounds crazy but this is how the system works here. Make sure your mom knows about your relation. She may not approve it but she should know about it . Embassy is very big on parents approval in India. New Delhi is most hard to deal with. Just make lot of visits and document each visit. All the best

She doesn't think it is. That wasn't the point of her comment.

The point is that the justification used to ban people from those muslim-majority countries can be used more easily for India and African countries than for those six countries, so saying it's not because they're muslim countries is disingenuous.

    Seriously ??

Indian IT industry contributes immensely to US economy: NASSCOM

Indian tech industry shared a major role in US economy by contributing nearly 411,000 jobs to the US economy this year and $20 billion in taxes between 2011-15. Not to mention about the ratio of Indian doctor's and Engineers in the US. Please do some research before making assumptions on which country is "easy" to ban. I apperiate facts but not individual assumptions.

Again , I'm not in favour of banning any of those 6 countries as none of these countries has ever done any terriorist attack in the US as per the records. We all know from which "muslim"country the terrorism originated but that country is not among the list of those 6 countries. Rather I believe none of the country should be banned who is in the process of family based visa. We all are just waiting to be with our love of the life:)  peace to all . Cheers !

This edict is harder to prove direct anti-Muslim bias in court.  The prior court case lined out what the original problems were, so this "ban" addressed the stickiest points.

The most egregious facts to me are that we have NO records of any terrorists coming from the six countries under the travel ban.  I think this will be the focus of any court fights.  The fact that Saudi Arabia was not included is still suspicious to me if preventing terrorism is the REAL reason behind all of this.

I can see how more scrutiny would be laid on a country who does not have centralized reporting or vetting.  But if you used this excuse, then India would be one of the places under such scrutiny, given that police reporting is so localized in nature.  Plus half the African nations.  Just because technology hasn't quite caught up there....

I'm hoping Trump stays away from messing with family-type visas/citizenship for my own sake...

    Sukie in NY

    Hi Sukie,

India is not a Muslim country.

  10. We are same sex couple from India. Last year I had my interview in New Delhi embassy . They called my parents to confirm if they know about my relationship with my now wife. They also asked me if I was carrying the letter's from my family or friends to confirm the relationship. I had lots of evidence to proof our relationship but still they wanted approval from my family . Unfortunately my own native people in the embassy harassed me not the American officer . The American officer were so nice and never asked me about parents approval but the Indian women there were horrible .But that was my case . I think it should not be a problem in your country . Have lots of face time together with 2-3 trips together and have your fiance company you to the interview . I'm not sure if he will be allowed inside the embassy but you can have his passport with you as a proof he is waiting for you outside the embassy . This makes a huge difference! Good luck!

  11. Not entirely true. Congress and the President, together, have the power to make or change ANY law they want to. The Supreme Court may nullify that law, but they do, fundamentally, have the power to change or reverse any law, including retroactive changes. At the moment, same sex marriage is protected by the Supreme Court ruling. But all you have to do is to look at abortion rights and voting rights (established by the Supreme Court) to see how individual states then impose their own laws (Vice-President Pence is a "shining" example of trying to gut same sex marriage protections as Governor of Indiana) to chip away at those rights. Yes, there is, currently, only one seat on the Court to be filled, but there are multiple left-leaning seats that could easily become vacant during the next 4 years. As for nullifying or reversing a legally entered marriage, yes it can be done, even today. It's called "annulment" and it can, in certain conditions even under current law, be imposed against the couple without their consent.

No, I'm not saying any of the gloom and doom scenarios are going to definitely happen, and certainly not immediately, but there is legitimate cause for people to be concerned and to make their voice heard if they think the government is going in a direction it shouldn't.

The cause of action for annulment of a voidable marriage in New York State is generally fraud (DRL §140 (e)). There are other arguments; see the Statute. Fraud generally means the intentional deception of the Plaintiff by the Defendant in order to induce the Plaintiff to marry. The misrepresentation must be substantial in nature, and the Plaintiff's consent to the marriage predicated on the Defendants statement. The perpetration of the fraud (prior to the marriage), and the discovery of the fraud (subsequent to the marriage) must be proven by corroboration of a witness or other external proof, even if the Defendant admits guilt (DRL §144). The time limit is three years (not one year). This does not run from the date of the marriage, but the date the fraud was discovered, or could reasonably have been discovered.

  12. So correct . I am from india and my wife is an American .We are also same sex couple already married "legally" in the third country last month :) . Me and my wife was so terrified after watching all this anti-gay new president news . But after reading some positive comments here we have calm down alot . I also watched Trum's latest interview about he being fine with "Same sex marriage" !Thank you every one who supports us and I wish all of us to be with are spouse soon forever.

  13. with regard to k1 for same sex marriage and trump, once you are legally married the law cannot be reversed, congress does not have the power to do this neither does the president. American law states once a marriage is entered legally it cannot be nullified or reversed. Despite all the panic and hysteria, also if they try to get the Supreme Court to overturn marriage they it will takes years and years, even if the court decide to listen to the arguments. The empty seat on the Supreme Court which is vacant was anti gay, so even if they fill with another anti gay justice it will have little or no effect. Don't worry about anything, and find out the facts away from tv news. Im not a trump supporter for the record, I just wonder for the future of America

  14. I got no response from the embassy. No response from emailing my state representatives. We got no further letters or any correspondence in the mail, so we'll take our denial and move on. We decided to marry and attempt the Spousal Visa. This time I'll make sure to be at the interview and it will give us another physical time together plus an actual marriage certificate to further prove the legitimate relationship. We found Denmark to be a country that allows same-sex marriage without one having to be a legal citizen. Another year to wait for a Spousal Visa...ughh...!! soo frustrating!

  15. Thanks everyone for the help, it has eased my stress to read the replies. If appealing doesn't work, I like the idea of marrying in another country and attempting the Spouse Visa.

We handed in numerous pictures together, WhatsApp chat logs(50 pages), phone logs, copies of flower receipts I sent, copies of love letters, cards sent by both, emails along with emails between my mom and fiancé. Letter of approval from my parents with contact info, letter from her brother, cousin, mother with contact info. They insisted on calling her father who preferred arranged marriage over a love marriage, but still answered questions on the phone saying he was okay, but with short responses.

We had no prior marriages, no children. A large range of questions from the regular questions to outrageous questions that did not relate to our relationship. But came down to meeting only once.

  16. My fiance attended the embassy interview. She got interrogated for hours by several embassy employees. 10 family members were called and asked several questions, harassed. Due to lack of "face time" and me not being at the interview we were denied. We are devastated. We were for sure we'd get approved with no red flags, however because we only met once in person and I was unable to attend the interview we received a denial.

How do we appeal the decision, how do people get second interviews? How do we fight to try again? Please help me! I am lost.

  17. Please help!

I am begging for some positive and comforting statements for our upcoming interview June 28th. My fiance is very, very nervous and I'm trying to be keep the faith. We are a same-sex relationship from US and India. She is heading alone to the New Delhi embassy, which we read is one of the hardest embassies to get approved at.

She is nervous to go alone, plus the one same-sex female interview we read, the couple got questioned why the individual was gay. (We still question the background leading up to this question.)

Please just give us some positivity and great approval stories so we can increase our comfort for preparation of the biggest event of our relationship. Or a funny cat picture is amazing also.

    Thanks!

  18. We are a couple weeks away from the K1 fiancé visa embassy interview and desperately seeking some positive, motivational stories to get us through.

I am the US partner trying to stay as positive as I can and my foreign fiance is freaking out and extremely worried about our upcoming embassy interview.

I am not able to come due to not enough work vacation time, so that is 1 thing she worries about. Another is that we've been in a relationship 1.5 years and have only met one time, 2nd thing she worries about.

We have no "red flags". No prior marriages, no children, no criminal record.

Please, please any couples who have met only once prior to the interview, tell us your story.
