Received an RFE today… Not because I didn’t send enough evidence when I filed my I-751, but because “your case has been pending since August 2021 and we need to see evidence of a continued marital union”.

Really, USCIS??? Tell me; why has my case been pending for almost 2 years? I am beyond frustrated.. Just assembled ANOTHER packet, ready to be sent out. USCIS, you suck!!! 🤬

if it makes you feel any better, I filed in October 2019 and received an RFE earlier this year as well asking for evidence from date of marriage till now lol

Good news is, it seems approval is fast if you send in what was requested. This was my timeline after the RFE:

    • 03-27-2023:  USCIS Requested additional evidence "as it has been several years since you've submitted this petition"
    • 05-13-2023:  Sent RFE response via USPS certified Priority mail
    • 05-17-2023:  USCIS received RFE packet
    • 05-19-2023:  USCIS case status updated to “New Card is Being Produced"
    • 05-22-2023:  USCIS case status updated to “Case Was Approved"
    • 05-24-2023:  USCIS case status updated to reflect new Green Card was mailed
    • 05-25-2023:  USCIS case status updated to “Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office"

Hello. I'm sure this is a very stupid question but how do you guys track your case status? I feel like i'm looking on the wrong pages.

I have an online account where I had to add my I751 case myself. I always thought USCIS adds it on my online account?

And the above screenshot from @OldUser how do you get that tracking? And congrats on your case!!!!

I use an app called “case tracker” on the iPhone. Easy to use, once you login once, you never have to again. Also offers a link directly to your case status on the Uscis website.

Incredibly jealous of those who received their GCs!  I just received an RFE from USCIS with the following justification:

After almost 4 years from my original filing date (and all the painstaking care I put into creating a lovely tabbed, indexed, footnoted submission with a table of contents), they're asking me for my original evidence and additional evidence because of their ineptitude and delays...I'm speechless.

So....due to the verbiage in the RFE which requests evidence from "the date of marriage to the present", I've  consolidated old and new evidence in my lovely 200 page packet with all the fervor and hopes of USCIS actually reviewing it some time in the probably distant future.

Anyone have any idea if the Portland Oregon office (1455 NW Overton) accepts certified mail with signature?  Any suggestions on what type of USPS mail to send for peace of mind and OCD tracking without USCIS rejecting it for god knows what reason?

I just got my 48 months today. You will be getting soon too.

When you contact congressman, who do you contact? State senator or like representative?

Every congressman will have a website where they offer assistance with federal agencies / immigration. Usually l, it’s right on their front page as an option. They each have different forms and methods for which to request assistance. You can probably Google your state and “immigration assistance.”

You can use this link to find your congressman and their main website: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative#:~:text=If you know who your, the U.S. House switchboard operator.

Hey guys, anyone still waiting since feb 2021 or before? Just curious lol

Been waiting since October 2019. We just got my husband’s 48 month extension in the mail two days ago. :(

I reached out to my congressman’s office last month and they indicated the case was being considered for a waiver but still no updates. It’s crazy how our spouse can live in the states for 5 years and still not hold a 10 year green card. What in the world is happening with this administration!

    Hi MSC Filers,

There are no updates on this thread since couple of months.

No one got response yet ??

Not yet, unfortunately. It’s been almost 3 years since my husband’s notice date and we’ve been waiting for an interview since 2020.  According to case processing, this is considered “normal processing” and I can’t inquire until mid-November on case status.

See my signature for detailed timelines :(

    Hi everyone!
My husband and I submitted our I-751 in September 2020. I got an 18 month extension letter soon after that. Last July I had my biometrics taken and my status changed to “ready to schedule an interview “ on September 2021. In January 2022, I received my 24 month extension letter which expires this October.

Is anyone in a similar situation? I see some MSC—— cases are moving much faster than mine. I’m scared of losing my job because of not having a renewed green card by this October.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My submission for my husband’s ROC was in October 2019 and I’m still waiting for an interview. We called last year when it was considered beyond normal processing times (before they extended it to 3 years) only to get a follow up more than 6 months later telling us there’s nothing to be done and that it’s now considered within normal processing times.

To think that this is where all of our tax dollars might be going…

I'm working on a project to track the MSC I-751 Case.

Retrieve data from USCIS for the MSC prefix cases. From MSC 19 9 125 1000 to 2994, in this number range , there are only 28 I-751 cases. (plus some 20 fiscal year cases, total sample is 40)

IP might be blocked(temporally, so far I did not have this problem) if send too many requests in a short time.

So the progress is kind of slow for woking on my own.

    Here's a snippets of what I have:

    image.thumb.png.6a55b9eaac459b48fb7df7debfb31096.png

I will keep scrapping data from uscis and see how they process the case. If you would like to join to working on this together. I can share you the code and teach you how to do that.

By collecting the data, we can build a dashboard.

Anyway, I might update this from time to time.

I believe someone started one some time back. Here’s the link to it though I don’t believe it’s being updated periodically anymore :

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vxcoGMnQFeB2YgKlxu8ks1ZdxRWSCT4vDKALaF2nm2o/edit

I’ve been stuck waiting on progress since NoA in October 2019 :(  Two extensions so far, one e-request which was targeted to have a response in August 2021 though no further updates or responses were provided.  Seems like many of the e-requests for beyond processing times are no longer functioning on Uscis.gov website.

    Anyone else feeling the pain?

  10. Seems like they’re starting to get back into the swing at msc. My husband’s case was just updated as well, but it’ll probably be another few months before the interview.

    • 10-21-2019:  I-797 NOA received (Notice Date: 10/16) of acceptance

  11. Update on case status for MSC - sharing timeline and details below:

    • 10-17-2019:  Check cashed by USCIS

    • 11-13-2019:  Case status changed to “Fingerprint Review Was Completed”
    • 12-24-2019:  Case status changed to “Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken”

I wonder if that means it’s in queue to be reviewed.

Your process is really fast.  Glad to see it that way.  Where was your case routed?  Which service center?

Sent to Texas and Nebrask (NBC) I’m guessing from the MSC receipt number.

How is yours so fast?? Does your reciept number start with SRC?

no clue . I just hope the approval is just as fast! Wishful thinking on my part haha

Oh wow, that’s interesting. I think it changed when I was going through AOS... I’m also surprised how little notice they are giving you. I think my biometrics for AOS was at least like 3 weeks in advance scheduled.

Not sure if it might be because we’re CR1 instead of AOS. @IkaStuart Are you also CR1?

@Elethiomel you might want to also download the “case tracker for uscis” if you have an iPhone. Just add your cases and it shows status. Also provides links for I-94, uscis Office locators, aos filing charts etc. Makes life a lot simpler than logging into MyUscis every time :)

I was wondering when the first ones on here are getting their biometrics appointments. My NOA date is a week before yours and I haven’t received a biometrics letter yet. Did your status online change to biometrics appointment scheduled?

My status didn’t change, I wonder if it’s supposed to. I’ve been checking every day with that same question in mind.

Just got my notice of acceptance by text. Its LIN so Lincoln, NE. Tracking number doesn't seem to work though.

Took me a day before the receipt showed up online so I would check again tomorrow.

Wow. So interesting that we have such a similar timeline. What service center is working on your application? I didn't get biometric appointment yet ( although, here in Hawaii, we get everything later)

Sent to Dallas and so far, that’s all I know. We’re probably going to be in for a long wait. What’s your notice date?

  17. Received Biometrics appointment letter for 11/12.

No joint names on the credit card statements, just savings and checking. But the statements reflect the credit cards which I've included copies of (like a photocopy of both cards showing one with each of our names). I do include in the cover sheet a note explaining I'm a joint user etc. I figure since that's where we do most of our transactions it's useful to them, they can also then see from the bank statements that the joint account pays the card and mortgage monthly etc.

I think technically I'm including proof of every transaction that we've actually completed aside from a few times that we've had cash from the marriage to now, which may well, as you say, be overkill but I'd rather over than under, with immigration stuff. Like I wasn't sure how else to demonstrate the joint account was being used consistently.

We included 4-5 statements per year for our joint checking and savings but included an overview page to Call out periodic and major activity ( eg direct deposit from employers, major purchases, monthly utilities, etc).

For the credit card, I called my bank and asked them to send me a letter stating the authorized users and from when they were added to the account. Prefaced the credit card statements (a few per year) with the letter and copies of the cards reflecting the same account number.

Rest looks like strong evidence although 200 pages of statements might be a bit overkill but hope that helps! Good luck!

    Hi guys,

Getting ready to send my packet this weekend. For bona fide marriage evidence, do I need to resubmitt evidence from the I-485 packet or just anything new? we bought a house and went on a few family vacations so included all the documentation, I also included bank account statements, IRS 2018 returns, health insurance cards. Think that's sufficient? My husband travels a lot for work so will be away for the next week or so still, he signed the forms on the 20th of October, the date of his signature is not going to be a problem is it? Or are they going to say it needs to be signed within the 90 day window.

Also im confused on the "90 day window" My green card expires on Jan 25 2020, so by my calculation I can send my packet on Sunday ? or does the window start at like day 89 ?

There’s no guarantee USCIS will be so organized as to tie in your I-485 documentation to the I-751. I would suggest including anything providing bona code evidence of cohabitation, shared finances / assets, everything and anything from marriage as per the guidance in the instructions.

Make sure the bank records show both names. Not sure about you but my IRS transcripts had our names and address redacted so I included our actual returns and a screenshot of the irs announcement regarding the redactions.

i would throw in some monthly bills reflecting both your names and Driver’s licenses showing the same address. We also included beneficiary information for pensions, 401k, life insurance, mortgage, joint deed, joint titles, 1095s showing employer coverage of health+ named spouse, and ton of photos and flight tickets from the time of marriage.

Signature shouldn’t be an issue; date is based on when they receive it. I heard the system sometimes rejects those received on the 90 day mark so I would give it an extra day or two to ensure the submission is accepted.

Send my package on 16 OCT 19 from Germany (currently stationed here due to Military) and it arrived in Dallas Texas yesterday. Patiently waiting for a notification.

However I also received the letter that my case is ready for my new application and it was sent to our old address. Had to call USCIS and he said it wasn't changed in the system and he changed it and I should receive a confirmation letter within 30 Days.

I guess my question is how likely is it that my current case notifications are being sent to the correct address? Unfortunately I did not get the letter until my packet was sent off.

Sometimes the system still makes mistakes.

Not sure if you’re CR1 and the sponsor  but if so, you could file the I-865.

other ways to ensure you get notified:

    - officially request change of address via USPS online and forward your mail to a new address

    - sign up for MyUSCIS, add your case via the receipt number, toggle notifications and enter your email

    good luck!

  21. Seems like my NOA is en route to be delivered today!

According to USCIS, msc  refers to Missouri and will most likely require an interview. Saw some other forums chains where everyone at msc was required to go.

Any thoughts? Below quoted from USCIS site in 2012:

The NBC was founded in 2001 in Lee's Summit, Missouri and was originally called the Missouri Service Center (which is why receipt notices from the NBC will begin with the letters “MSC”). The NBC's primary mission is to prepare applications for adjudication that require an interview at a USCIS Field Office.
