We can't pick it up there. We could have picked it up at the dhl location but only had a certain window to change from mail to pick up which we apparently can't now. He called the embassy they said to email then and hung up on him smh.

Yea we have talked with them there's a 200 fee to change plus pay additional cost of the ticket is higher. It's our fault we shouldn't have bought it but we figured it was enough time since it said it was issued. But they were closed for the 4th and also the 6th ?

For the fiancés coming in... Get your social security card asap! Drivers license are apparently only good for visa duration period but once u have the ead card you're able to get regular one.

Stupid question but fiancé wants to make sure when he books his ticket it's just a one way ticket right? His friends think he should do a two way because that's what they did not they also obviously had a visitor visa but this is different cuz it's a fiancé visa

I emailed the borders and customs and they said one way ticket is fine.

Why get a two-way ticket? The whole point of the fiance visa is to enter the USA only once and get married on US soil. If I'm not mistaken, the foreign fiance can't leave the US until the greencard has been processed and card in hand. True or no?

As for us, I had a little panic session because the medical office made a blunder and didn't send our results on time. We decided we would rather be safe than sorry - he went to the medical office to collect his results (a 3 hour bus ride and then another $60 taxi ride later).

Anyways, our interview was last Wednesday in Montreal, Canada and we were approved! Fiance went in at 9:30am and came out only 3 minutes later. The Consulate said he should get his passport back in 3 weeks so we're planning on POE to be 8/20 then civil ceremony 9/2.

Okay so the stupid place where fiance got his medical done hasn't sent his medical results to him as yet - they said they were waiting for him to submit a vaccine but he said he did it at the medical.. they checked back and confirmed he did get the vaccine so it's their fault.

Our interview is this Wednesday! Will it be an issue at the interview?? Can we mail the medical to the Consulate once he receives it? What do we tell the consulate? I'm panicking!

Our consulate won't even let u through the gate without the sealed envelope of results from medical. I suggest you contact the embassy and do some research on VJ

we had our interview today and was approved yeeeey! so happy.....but what next? how do we know if passport has been sent to were we told them to? we signed up to the site they told us to and told them to send it to a specific DHL office.

Hi everyone, I just noticed that our visa is wrong name ( Middle and first name reverse order). We have no problem getting to the US but the local SSN office not let us apply for SSN. They said they only used whatever in the visa (which mean they only use middle name as firstname). I just double check on DS 160 and it also mess up (which mean I typed wrong). They asked us to come to USCIS local to correct to visa but I dont know if I can walk in or make appointment with them? and also what documents do I have to bring to them to prove that this is an error. You need to contact uscis. We aren't them and none of us have had this issue to my knowledge.

Getting things done! Now here's the catch guys...

K1 visa holders have automatic work authorization for the duration of the visa period (90 days). Then after that wait for the employment authorization card. So marriage as soon as u can and filing asap... Won't be much of a gap you can't work! This was just verified at the social security office we just left!

What documents did you all bring to your interview? Like proof of relationship stuff... I have texts and emails, but we aren't big on tsking photos. Is that okay?

They didn't ask him anything about evidence of ongoing relationship. He just told them we had matching tattoos of the coordinates of where we met in Guatemala... Only because of the medical info where they took photos of them. I told him he can't be an international drug lord anymore ha ha habha

Question for those who have filed the DS-160 -- is the visa fee payment confirmation included in the appointment confirmation page? I'm trying to figure out how to prove I paid the fee...

U enter your email address at the right spot in your account in the consulate portal to link the visa payment to your fiancé. Then it allows for scheduling

Not all get an e-mail with tracking number, it's embassy specific.

Hi everyone, how do we check if the Visa is issued or not? My interview was last Thursday and I already book the ticket for the 12 June but I'm worry if the visa come on time

Quick question is it faster to pick up your visa and passport after you are approved or haveit mailed to you?

Ours showed issued as of Friday and was ready for pick up on Tuesday at the facility they ship to. Cannot pick up at embassy in Guatemala

I think we've climbed the highest mountain of this process - the getting them to U.S. part. Now, we just got some little mountains downhill and we should be golden!!
