  1. Thank you Kenia-N-Jeury. It does mean a lot that so many of you are reacting. And you're right, I shouldn't lose faith and stay positive.

All my anger and fear came out after this all happened. I am just so fed up with the system!

This is the 'land of the free' but they sure know how to let a person feel they are not free!

It's not fair to have people's nerves wrecked all the time.

There are so many of us out there and here with good reasons to work or who have to travel because something urgent came up.

This country needs to have a just system look after them.

If it makes you feel better, we were told that husband could get financial aid for college, only to find out two days before classes started that immigration places k1 AOS people in limbo... As in they don't exist. The exact wording was immigration is unable to confirm (name) status etc etc etc. talk about feeling discouraged and like you don't matter!! Also, his foreign ID had been denied at the biggest casino in the area for a drink and a gas station. Terrible feeling... It's descrimination of a sort. By to be told by the government that they are in limbo... Says u guys don't exist. I went home in tears that day angry and frustrated that he was treated like that.

Prays for am our adjusters and us petitioners...

  2. so guys my case status shows that my EAD was approved but i still didn't get the card mailed to me...i already found a job and iam wondering if i can start working now...is it legal or do i need to wait to get the card in my hand?

Unless you're willing to get deported and surrender your AOS, It's a definite MUST to wait for the card. Working without it will ruin everything for you

  3. Biometrics was a piece of cake! Less than 5 minutes once called in! And we were early and not allowed to do it sooner... It happened in groups but we were first ones there in ours so we went first. All friendly staff. They give you this lotion type stuff cuz your fingers cannot be dry or the prints won't read! They do whole hand then individual fingers, and take a pic. Done!!!

Now for the waiting for AP, EAD, and AOS!!

  4. I have to attend a TB program later this August. Got a nice yellow sheet from the TN Department of Health, B2 TB is circled. Woa, after 21 years they still want to see a "negative" result. The lady on the phone did assure me they won't skin test me because that'll show up positive. Thanks for the warm welcome, America

Sorry for the hassle, but TB Is definitely not taken lightly here as the health concerns involved are significant. I'm a dental hygienist and it's on our higher list of concerns... Special rooms and all.

At least you're here already and not doing it alone!!! Good luck!

  5. We also sent it just a bit later than you :)

I was also a bit sad looking at the average processing time for Houston of 400+ days, but it never came to my mind it could be connected with the elections. Well, we were managed to wait for the visa we will wait for the adjustment. A lot of patience to us all.

My friend from Japan filed for AOS OVER 9 months ago... Did biometrics in January. No interview in sight yet. She's in Houston. But people in the June filers are getting interviews already so I'm guessing it really varies by local office... Ours is Oklahoma City. How do we check the current time of processing?

  6. I'm on Day 53, having not received an RFIE or RFE as of yet either. Like you, I hope we've dodged as well. Unfortunately, I don't think my Day 53 is early enough to know that.

I've been casually monitoring the anonymous case statuses for the MSC* case numbers directly around my three numbers (i.e. the 200 directly above and below mine). I've been focusing on those who aren't submitting an I-130 but have submitted I-485 therefore likely adjusting from a K* visa. I've also been focusing on those who filed on the same day as me, as indicated by the "Case was received" dates, where possible.

The case directly below my case received an RFIE this morning despite filing everything on the same date. Their case status has gone from "Case was received" to "Fingerprint fee received", having now changed today to an RFIE today. They are also on Day 53 since filing. My heart jumped a beat when I thought it was my case for a moment. I'm dreading an RF(I)E given some nuances with my case.

My conclusion: Definitely not out of the woods yet. For the I-485, it seems RFIEs are still be produced and RFEs can come much later down the process. I have no idea about the timeline for when people are likely to receive RFE for I-131 (Advance Parole Travel Document) or 1-765 (Employment Authorization).

Crossing fingers for you, for all :)

    Simon x

P.S. I've been using an iPhone USCIS Case Tracker app to automatically check the statuses of cases around me. The apps means I don't have to type in the 200 numbers above/below me, returning anonymous information about the cases. Others have mentioned similar apps in this thread. Other apps are available.

How do you look at cases above and below yours?????

  7. This morning I logged in on USCIS and saw still no movement since june 25th when they received the fingerprint fee.

I just looked again and we got a soft touch on all 3 of our cases! I know a soft touch means nothing more than "someone touched it" but right now that was the only thing I needed to stay hopeful :D our biometrics appointment was on july 2oth but we went in early on july 14th.

What's a soft touch? How do you know???

  8. Yes thats what it means. Some stay in AP only a few days or longer. If you havent gotten your answer yet :D

So have been super busy. Fiance arrived on the 18th. Everything has been great. POE was very good and went smoothly. He is finally adjusting to the time and its a complete 180 from where he lives but in a good way. Very quiet here he says lol

Isn't it great!? Wedding time!!! Husband is still adjusting and him not working is driving us both crazy.... Waiting on the EAD during AOS is just as bad as k1!!!

    Good luck everybody!!!

Congrats everyone. 6 hours til my fiancee flies :D

    Finally!!!! Happy dance!! ????

  9. Question to the group.

I filed my AOS, EAD, and AP this month, which was received by the USCIS on July 11, 2016. I am applying under the EB2 category. Unfortunately, I just learned today by the reading the August bulletin (which apparently covers documents that were received by July 11th) that there will be retrogression for all EB2 applicants, which makes my priority date (June 2014) no longer current.

    My questions are:

    1. Will the USCIS reject my application for AOS? If so, do I have to re submit the same documents once my category becomes current again? Or will they automatically process my application once my category becomes current?

    2. Does this retrogression affect the processing of my application for EAD and AP?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't think any of us can answer this as we don't work for immigration... I would contact them directly to find out.

  10. You have to wait until you receive the biometrics notice in the mail. Once you have the notice you can walk-in to the office assigned by USCIS.

Note: Some offices don't accept walk-ins. The office I was assigned to isin Houston on Gulf Fwy. This office only takes walk-in after 3:20 pm.

Which in Houston is suicide for traffic if u live anywhere north of beltway 8 s! Ha ha man I don't miss Houston traffic! Almost a year gone from there.... Good luck!!!!
